I was told that the "hill" was an old Indian mound. Nearby was Mound Park hospital, which I believe has been renamed. I was born there in 1946 while my father, Robert Roser, was waiting for his US Army retirement after being wounded in WWII. Unfortunately no relation to Charles Roser that I can find. I just found out about this place today, and it's very cool. It's a little unkempt. In a way that's cool cuz it makes it rustic but I think a little bit more could be done to make it seem cleaner and safer. I've always heard South St Pete is dangerous I don't know if this area is by that may be an area of opportunity. Another thing that might be a cool idea is to strain Cafe type lights zigzag down over the top of part of the main street maybe for three or four blocks. It's too bad one of those nice homes or maybe somewhere along the way kind of perched up is not a little coffee shop.
This is my husband's hometown. He used to be scared to go in Roser Park, lol. Correction: Tallahassee is the hilliest place in Florida. There are seven large hills there. I had to climb the highest one every day when I was in college.

Those arent hills, they are Indian Mounds.
