As condos and skyscrapers pop up on St. Pete's waterfront, the view is everything. The best view of the city has been there for nearly a hundred years but is off limits to the general public -- though FOX 13 got rare access to this Bay Area treasure.
You know it as one of the most picturesque and posh resorts in Florida: The Vinoy Hotel. It set the standard for luxury when it was built in the mid-1920s.
Its Mediterranean design with its iconic 120-foot light tower, which was the tallest point anywhere around, put St. Petersburg on the map.
