I love using ASL in Kindergarten. I use it with the alphabet letter names and sounds (especially vowels), numbers, calendar time, colors, and other basic signs. I have a nonverbal student this year and teaching him ASL has been a game changer for him and me!

It's great you are teaching ASL! 👏 👏 Thank you for doing that!
My wife has been teaching our granddaughters since they were babies and now at 4 and 5 they often help me with ASL. We talk in ASL alot, and we'll use it so we don't interrupt others conversations but need to talk to each other. They are awesome, and patience with the old man lol.

I teach upper elementary grades. The kids love learning sign language. Your videos have made it possible for me to learn and teach them more. I use directions, scripture, colors, spelling, and much more. Thank you

I've taught one of my students, "I love you" and the other kids have started picking up on it. I see the out playing and signing it to each other! It's so cute!

I am a Special Education Teacher. I decided I really wanted to be more fluent in ASL for my hard of hearing and non verbal students. I started watching your videos every morning, and have just signed up for your courses! Thank you so much. Lord knows being a public school teacher does not pay enough to be able to go back to school. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Although not all of these apply to my work with toddlers, others are very helpful! All my toddlers are hearing, but I have a deaf colleague and I had a CODA last semester, and even hearing children benefit from sign. I know that the sign for “water” for the very young is just one finger, because their fine motor skills have not developed enough to make the “w” sign.

This is how I learned to speak and I learned to use it when teaching this exact age. Due to having a family member who uses ASL primarily, I was introduced to it at a very early age. I'm glad you see the benefits of it as well! I only wish I hadn't stopped learning once I started to be verbal. I'm glad I had to use it to teach toddlers so I can use it and learn more!

I teach upper high school students. I have been learning ASL to be able to speak to my step-daughter but I found that teaching my students signs for things like bathroom keeps them from having to disturb the entire class during quiet time or walk across the room to my desk to ask to use the restroom. It maintains the peace in the room and helps with classroom management.

Thank you so much! I've been waitng for this as I've been using ASL in the classroom since I learned how to do that from a mentor teacher I had. These are all signs I've either used, and some new ones I needed and didn't know. Thank you so much!

I teach basic ASL signs to all of my students so they can ask for basic things like bathroom, water, and nurse without disrupting class. They usually ask me to teach them more when we have a few minutes of extra time! All winter they would sign to me about the weather before we went out to recess :)

Awesome! I"m sure these are useful. Even with my hearing students it's helped solve some communication of what they need from me.
