Great tutorial! Love the tip about folding the wire in half before making the spirals for wire cages.

Thanks this is an awesome help! I’ve endlessly searched TH-cam unable to find any info on how to make a small round cage bead ball of wire only.

The first earrings I made were caged spiral beads! I've been thinking of doing more lately, so this was very timely! Thanks

This was really cool! I don’t think I’ve seen a coil on the top and bottom of a bead before! Really, really great information! Thank you for sharing!! 💜

My big problem with doing wire work like this is figuring out how much wire to use. A lot of instructions just say "take a length of wire" and that's not very helpful. Just the fact that this one mentioned using a specific length makes it so much more useful for me!

I wanted to know gauge of wire

This is so neat, what kind and weight of wire is needed? Thanks!

Kim Gordon Hi Kim, it depends on what size bead you are working with and the overall effect you are looking to achieve. I work with mostly 20 gauge wire, sometimes 22. 18 gauge will give you a heavier effect, but be a bit harder to work with. Have fun and experiment! Happy creating - Lisa

@@LisaPavelka Thanks so very much! I think I will get some 20 gauge and start playing around!
