Morning! I will have to give this way a try. I learned different, coiling each end in toward the middle then folding it onto the bead. Showing would of course be more understandable. Anyway I am open to always learning new things. Thank you :)
Ann, this is the way I did it. It just seemed easier for me. I tried it the way in video but just couldn't get it as evenly wound as the way you're describing.
I always loved using caged beads for necklaces or pants of, it’s been a long time since I’ve done one and had forgotten how beautiful they are and fun to make, thank you for reminding!!❤
thanks for a great video! I'm new to doing this and had a question, how do I stop my wire from getting kinks in it as I twist? Find that going over the bead is ok but i'm struggling on the ends to get them to go round neatly.
Hi there! Kinda hard to explain but you kinda work with the natural curve of the wire. The more you work with wire, the more you’ll know what I’m talking about ☺️💜
So much harder than it looked and probably won’t work for my design. Honestly, with softer wire this could work, better yet, if you make a normal bead link and then add the cage with a finer gauge wire I think it would simplify this. It’s dangerous to use real gem stones because of the potential scratching and I’m thinking it covers too much as well. Oh well. I have one bead done, in case I’ll ever need it for something g
Thanks for watching!
Enjoy this short little basic tutorial!
Have a great week! 💜
