I encountered this issue today. I was running a partitioned HD with Bootcamp, mostly running Windows. I tried many of your steps but did not try to the "nunclear" option of reinstalling MacOS, as I did not want to lose all my Windows data. I was able to get into Disk Utility and run First Aid, but I'm not sure if it helped or hurt. Eventually, after several restarts and holding Option, I saw the spinning globe icon and it asked me for a WiFi password. And finally, it just gave up and referred me to Apple Support. So, I pulled the SSD and ordered an enclosure. My main fear is losing all data, primarily that was in the Bootcamp Win. partition. Usually, in Disk Utility, I would see BOOTCAMP listed as a drive as Windows, but the last time I was in Disk Utility, I just saw one drive (Mac) listed BUT the file storage bar, show it full, so I'm hoping I can still access the data on another computer. I would like to hear your thoughts/advice.btw, I did reset the PRAM and NVRAM as well. Thanks!
Is there anyway that you can type the Terminal command in your reply to my comment, because it is hard understanding what you are saying and doing in certain things..at 13:00-please and thank you!!
cp -R /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD\ -\ Data/Users/YourUserNameHere /Volumes/USBdriveName/ I usually do not put commands in comments because TH-cam does not like all the characters, so it can mess it up. Good luck!
I have this flashing question mark but I just bought this Mac from another person, she said she took it to the apple store and THEY erased it before selling it to me and she never opened it again... now I see this grey folder with the question mark, and if the computer is erased why am I not able to just log on!! I got as far as connecting to the internet, then it asked me if I wanted to restore with the MacOs from Catalina, and then it told me to chose a disk, but gave no options to do so...
You might want to add replacing the hard drive cable. I could boot from a hard drive enclosure but not internally. It was confusing for me since the older hard drive worked fine internally. When in disk utility I could see the new hard drive but could not mount it. Got an com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error 49244. Looked this up and for some older hardware (cables) cannot handle faster hard drive. Replaced mine and works fine. Your diagnosis helped me get to this.
The only reason these work it’s because, they never actually use a broken Mac … they always do it with a Mac that’s working… and the people in the comments are left saying wow why doesn’t it work for me?… that’s because your Mac is broken and his is not.
Tried all the cmd+(all letters mentioned) but it still keeps going back to the flashing question Mark :-( I think this means I need to have this fix to the apple support ... 😓😓😓
I think it will run fine as long as the hardware supports it. The big problem you have is Apple is no longer supporting Mojave for security updates and soon Catalina will no longer be supported either. I run Monterey on all my Macs and it seems to run great for all my use cases. Monterey still has 2 years of support from Apple. Apple supports N-2, which means the latest current macOS and two previous versions. When Ventura is released in a month or two, it will be Ventura, Monterey and Big Sur that Apple supports. Good luck Elaiza!
It got to the drive and restarted but once it went down again when I restart it goes back to internet recovery can't get back to the drive w the option mode
Thanks! You so saved me so much time and so much energy and the hassle you were clear and concise and I am so grateful because I really wanted to use my new joue play 2 but my computer had that flashing file with a? Which was ruining my life that day, so thank you very much. I’m on with my music and I hope you have a lovely day.
SO many way to fix mac, thats mean, many problem of mac OS. i got linux on my PC never have problem, i can do what i want to use and install, downgrade upgrade, no reboot need. You need to try linux too dude.
I have the same problem with questions Mark folder but wenn I turn on, the computer there is no sound, pressing the keys does not help. I bought some MacBook pro without a hard disk, the new disk is not loaded even via usb. Can someone help
If you can only see the Internet Recovery then a couple possibilities is you have a faulty drive or the recovery partition became corrupted or removed. If you boot to internet recovery launch Disk Utility and see if the Hard Disk shows and click repair to see if anything can be fixed. If the disk mounts then copy data off and wipe the disk and reinstall macOS. Good luck!
Keep up the great work. We meet at the Grand Canyon a while back. It's great to see you posting.
Thanks buddy! I hope you are doing well!

I don't have the Macintosh. It just shows me the network and I connect to it
Push and hold alt, command and R at same time when restarting works for Mac from 2018 on

I have tried to fix from so many you tubers. I have hardly used my iMac desk top.
Will this fix or should I go to Apple?
It’s hard to say. This might help your situation, but if not then I’d bring it to the Apple Store and see if they can assist.

Mine just said internet recover is that bad
Internet Recovery is ok as well. Your local recovery might be messed up, which might require a reinstall of the macOS.
Got it working thank you appreciate it
What if there’s no machetosh he
So mine show internet recovery
I only see the Internet Recovery
