Works like magic everytime my macbook won't let me sign in. Been following it for the second time. If the codes don't work for you, you're missing something: Add space after 'cd', before 'HD' on the first code. Add space after 'mv' on the second code. Hope that helps.

If you have your HD or SSD encrypted, then make sure it is mounted. You can do this during the "first aid" step. I had to look through the directories to find the mbr_cache. The first command didn't work because i did not have the "HD" directory. So, i manually "cd" into each directory similar to the path above to find mbr_cache and ran the 2nd command once i found it.
@@goofy4birds when you open the terminal type "ls" this should provide you a list of the directories in side you current location. "cd yourdirectoryOrFolderName" will get you inside that location. Follow the directories as stated in the video. FYI... You can go back to a directory using "cd .." Play around with the terminal, trust me you won't break it. Once you are inside the directory where the mb_cache is in, run the last command.
My iMac just gets stuck at the end of the boot screen bar. Left it going overnight but it keeps getting stuck at 99% so I tried it in all the safe mode hotkey variations and it's not having it. Wont go over that last hump. 😩

Safe mode, Recovery, Reinstall OS,Re install Old OS, Install Windows... Went through million solutions and forms to make it work Only reflow GPU card solution work.Open Imac take out graphic card,Clean & wash properly all thermal paste, Heat Oven 200 C. Keep GPU card on small Aluminium balls, Keep in oven for 10 minute. Let it cool for 30 minute, Get new thermal paste not conducting electric type apply small amount on GPU & all other black component jut like doing painting . Do not apply thick layer. Just enough to cover. Like paint on wall. Tight all screws properly firm & reinstall card. It works 1000%. I have wasted many week & spend lot of money. All the best.......Thanks

Hi, I have a problem with my macbook pro 15", it started when I tried to update the software, it seemed to stop have way through, thought nothing of it, until i tried to start up again, I had no joy, only OS X white screen, to repair your disk using Disk Utility, to be honest I have tried and tried them all but had no joy. I will try again now step 1 white screen To set up, click continue, agreement page, continue, agree, Select the disk on which to install "Macintosh HD" continue, installing on "Macintosh HD" OS X could not be installed your computer, No packages were eligible for install. Contact software manufacturer for assistance. Quit the installer to restart your computer and try again. I have tried and tried, and thought maybe some software discs would do the job, but of course not sure, but I ordered a couple I found online with 2009 on! hopefully they may get me somewhere. If there is anything you can suggest, I would love it, I have tried a few of yours already but all goes to not eligible, I and beginning to think whether I had done something wrong along the way! I tried the disk utility option but it came up with the message after running first aid : problems with the partition map which might prevent it from booting. I tried reinstalling Os but it seems because I didn't leave enough hd space on the HD.it is refusing to install. For the people having trouble with a "no such file or directory" message after typing in the code. First go and Mount your Macintosh HD in Disk Utility by typing in your password to Mount. Then go to Terminal and try typing in the code again. You should not get the same message.
Yo man big up, I tried mounting with password unlock at Utility and then returned to enter the code in terminal and still getting no such file and directory, is there spaces inbetween CD and volumes and also \ HD or \HD/

I hold Command + R when my MacBook starts booting, but it won't go to the page that you're one and it keeps loading. The bar will fill up, but it won't load onto the main screen where I can log in. Any suggestions?

Hi, you said that your MacBook is from 2009, 10 years old. Computer technologies get obsolete every 6 months! It is like having a brand new car from 50 years ago and expect it to be as fast and safe as a 2019 model. My advising is that you would probably need purchasing a new laptop. However, please check if you can install a new os through using Utility Disk, my video part 1.
Ali Mirmehdi hi Ali. I am having the same issue as Peas Soothe as I’ve changed the p.list in systemsettings by tricking the software from 10.5.8 to 10.8.5 and I’m totally stuck.. called apple. Spent 2 hours on the phone with them and now I’m back to square one where I started. When I go into 250.9 gb hd on the first window of disc utility and click on partition.. it says partition failed, cannot live feed data. Please please help us.

Once I enter codes into terminal it said no such directory or file. So pretty much it is not responding to those codes. Is it supposed to say anything?
Hi John, in many cases, resetting takes care of the problem. My videos actually deal with more sophisticated, or less commonly utilized, ways of resetting. One can of course be more experimental with the computer, software & hardware. However, if you have that plan, you will first need to transfer your data to an external drive, ensuring that you will not lose them.

My solution after all else failed was to take the 250 gb ssd I put into my 2010 MacBook Pro 2.4 ghz Core 2 Duo with High Sierra and 8 gb ram out of the computer and plug it up via usb to sata cable. Apparently my sata cable was bad and my ssd became unrecognizable.

The first code is not working if tried 20 did ways and the GPU thing in the system specs it only shows a Intel GPU so I don't think mine has a nivida GPU.. it's really a pain
I successfully typed both codes, upon hitting restart, there was a slight delay and then my screen went black. Computer fan is still running. Laptop is still plugged into charger and battery is connected.

My laptop wont even boot to the chime. It just wont even turn on at all. Its just black. The only thing that shows that its working is when i do shift control option and i can hear something reset but it still doesnt turn anything on.

@@Autumnkhloeshut it off, take the cord out for about 30 minutes to a hour, then try turning it on, that's what I did and it worked
@@Autumnkhloe something about letting your battery chill for a 30mins to a hour will let it reboot as it should, you should try it

Anyways, as I was saying 😭😭😭... My MacBook is old, I believe I purchased in 2009. I recently attempted to update my iTunes but upon doing so the screen froze, so I reset it. Now it's stuck on the spinning loading death screen! The spinning loading icon with Apple logo... I've tried your solutions on video 1 and 2, and found out there is a disc error but was unable to repair! What do you advise at this point???
Hi, you said that your MacBook is from 2009, 10 years old. Computer technologies get obsolete every 6 months! It is like having a brand new car from 50 years ago and expect it to be as fast and safe as a 2019 model. My advising is that you would probably need purchasing a new laptop. However, please check if you can install a new os through using Utility Disk, my video part 1.
Ali Mirmehdi hi Ali. I am having the same issue as Peas Soothe as I’ve changed the p.list in systemsettings by tricking the software from 10.5.8 to 10.8.5 and I’m totally stuck.. called apple. Spent 2 hours on the phone with them and now I’m back to square one where I started. When I go into 250.9 gb hd on the first window of disc utility and click on partition.. it says partition failed, cannot live feed data. Please please help us.

what if it says socket is not connected or runtime corruption detected on macintosh HD
Once I enter codes into terminal it said no such directory or file. So pretty much it is not responding to those codes. Is it supposed to say anything?

One can of course be more experimental with the computer, software & hardware. However, if you have that plan, you will first need to transfer your data to an external drive, ensuring that you will not lose them.

My solution after all else failed was to take the 250 gb ssd I put into my 2010 MacBook Pro 2.4 ghz Core 2 Duo with High Sierra and 8 gb ram out of the computer and plug it up via usb to sata cable. Apparently my sata cable was bad and my ssd became unrecognizable.
Terminal says " no such directory found" do i need to make chg in *Machintosh* aNd *HD* OR SHOULD IT HAVE WORKED WITH SAME COMMAND?

The first code is not working if tried 20 did ways and the GPU thing in the system specs it only shows a Intel GPU so I don't think mine has a nivida GPU.. it's really a pain

I successfully typed both codes, upon hitting restart, there was a slight delay and then my screen went black. Computer fan is still running.
Laptop is still plugged into charger and battery is connected.
