Not a fan of upwork, Competition and undercutting is beyond silly for 3D artist. Hourly rates on average are less than 10 bucks a hour which is not acceptable for anyone who is either from EU, US or Canada.
@@MikeNardiTV 3D modeling for games. It's not always like this but as of recent more often than not I've seen increase in "average bid is 10$". So I don't even bother bidding on anything bellow 25$. Also to mention I did hit level 2 seller not a while ago on fiverr which enabled me to promote my gigs. And I've seen insane returns for like 10$ spent on adds I get 200-1k worth of gigs. I don't get as many orders unless I promote my gigs and so far I had 0 briefs(not too sure why's that maybe my price is too high) so there's that. I did branch out to freelancer, guru, peopleperhour but so far no luck there.
If I was you (and I am kind of in your shoes as a fellow CG artist): Build your YT channel, create a patreon, create Skillshare classes, cold calls, cold mails, land corporate gigs, product ads, product renders, etc. Product ads pay way better than any game assets. That "dream job" to work in games is overrun because it is a dream but can turn quickly to nightmare.
I am on Fiverr but what I don't understand is if you have to do all the marketing yourself, then what is the point of Fiverr? It seems odd to market yourself to drive traffic to a site that takes a 20% cut of your fee. Why not just market directly to the customer? Does Fiverr actually do any promotion on their platform? So far, I haven't gotten any legitimate inquiries, just scammers. I am just wondering if I'm wasting my time on Fiverr.
Fiverr is a marketplace with millions of users. That’s worth something. Fiverr also is a place where buyers go with the intent of buying something. That’s worth something. Fiverr also runs rising talent and Fiverr a choice promotions for gigs that show exceptional quality and customer service. That’s worth something. You can totally market yourself off Fiverr, it’s just another tool at your disposal
Why did fiverr remove buyers requests? it is not okay at all for that kind of platform not to have an option for sellers to send out proposals. they really need to improve their SEO whatever. Fiver should give sellers or new sellers the opportunity to send out job proposals and take an interview before getting jobs
As someone who is getting frustrated with my part-time jobs and looking to start working in the industry. This was a great splash of cold water. I plan to speak to my advisor about where I'm at and what I should do next professionally, but this was still super helpful.

But I think on a deeper level, it's because none of them are creative fields. Yes, I can be creative at times, but there is also an overwhelming amount of monotony in them that I don't find when doing work on Illustrator or Photoshop.
I've been a freelance electronics engineer/ embedded software developer / mechanic engineer / pc software dev for the better part of last 15years. Don't have website, don't have business cards. Do have work booked 6+ months in advance. It's just one costumer recommending the services further. No intermediaries needed. Places like Fiverr are probably a good place to start, but if you still need them after a few years - IMO ur doing something wrong. Btw. Working freelance for big corporations is the worst kind of job. Bureaucracy and complete lack of decisiveness make it a really rough ride.
This happend to me alot 13:50 . You have to give up on some things and just let em out if not you will burn your self. If you don't have good paid job and looking for extra work be prepare for this. Just take time and organize you self best you can. This is specially for people who live in poorly developed country's.

Fiverr service model is making them into a 3rd party like a bank. Something that is not needed and becomes an interference if they are going to do that as a main thing instead of having freedom for people to choose for themselves (both parties). Also insolvo or however it's called already does that with the help of AI (pin points perf people for projects).

Nobody needs a 3rd party who you give money to and they lawfully become owners of your money, use it to make profit and then give you rules on how to use it and you even have to tell them what you're using your money for. On top of that they tax you and can freeze them (like I said ownership). And to add even more, now we have cryptos where you become your own bank and do P2P transatctions all over the world just via internet (or offline) + securely and with wayyyyyy lower fees any time of the day. Instant or almost instant and doesn't matter how much moners you send. You have full ownership and you don't need to ask for permissions. Plus rich people don't profit from you and you don't even add to the inflation. No additional fees for holding them too. Nobody has to limit how much you send and no sanctions. So yeah, I just named few key points. We don't need banks anymore.

When I want a lot more of a flexible business plan for painting miniatures, there's a lot more things that I need to potentially charge for. Only if you get written permission in advance from Fiverr, and only if the two areas of work are unrelated. You cannot have two accounts offering the same category of products or services. Otherwise, if you are spotted having two accounts, they will both be closed with no warning and the IP address banned.
Fiverr from my experience is good only for people who live in countries with low life standard. Most of the gigs are for what? 15-20-70 USD? This for them is more than OK, but for someone where his rent is like 1000-1500 USD, these money are nothing. So basically the cheapest ones get hired the most. I'm pretty sure no person that lives in a country with a good economy would work for less than 100 USD a day, because that would be close to the bare minimum for living costs. So yeah, Fiverr is flooded by 3rd world countries freelancers and dominate it just because they can afford to go really low on the price. Not worth to spend any time there.
Used Fiverr as a buyer for 4-5 times, gotta say that it feels like I’ve been duped on about all of the jobs I paid for. Seems like the AI is the main go to to these creators, results come as mediocre, unoriginal or just bad. And it becomes more and more noticeable. I guess the worse offence is the limit of revisions and concepts, and how sellers can take advantage of this.
I mean, I’m sorry to hear about your experience but it’s kind of subjective. Every seller is different, just like it’s on sellers to deliver good work it’s also partly on buyers to make sure they’re properly vetting sellers before hiring them

Aside from rating, what other ways can the buyer check the credibility of a seller? Checking the sellers previous works, reading the reviews and ratings from their previous clients, right? How can buyers certify that it’s indeed their work and that the reviews/ratings are not spam or bogus entries, we cannot filter the good from the bad I think, we have to read hundreds of reviews to find a genuine one. It’s evident, AI is being pushed as a standard, they have an AI Artists section as well as articles on how to use it. AI is a tool, I get that. I don’t mind designers using it to speed things up, as long as they also put in the work and provide solid results.

Yes, it can be consistent but you must excel at what you offer, well above average. It won't be consistent or a high income unless you really shine at something many people want to buy.
Fiver as a service sounds negative for programmers. It would allow companies to outsource work without giving important things such as medical benefits. All you'd get is cash

it worries me if what you're saying is that fiverr is managing the individuals in big business deals
fiverr should be a place businesses find individuals, and not have a say in the actual interaction
also, if fiverrs take is 20% find somewhere else to get big business deals as that is ripping off the individual

I have tried free A.I. programs and software myself, but it's complete garbage. I get why people hate on fiverr but for me it is the only good site I've seen. Writing stories for like 2k words take like 1 hour and I get 25$ before 20% pay cut is fairly good.

Fiverr from my experience is good only for people who live in countries with low life standard. Most of the gigs are for what? 15-20-70 USD? This for them is more than OK, but for someone where his rent is like 1000-1500 USD, these money are nothing. So basically the cheapest ones get hired the most. I'm pretty sure no person that lives in a country with a good economy would work for less than 100 USD a day, because that would be close to the bare minimum for living costs. So yeah, Fiverr is flooded by 3rd world countries freelancers and dominate it just because they can afford to go really low on the price.
Not worth to spend any time there.

Used Fiverr as a buyer for 4-5 times, gotta say that it feels like I’ve been duped on about all of the jobs I paid for.
Seems like the AI is the main go to to these creators, results come as mediocre, unoriginal or just bad. And it becomes more and more noticeable.
I guess the worse offence is the limit of revisions and concepts, and how sellers can take advantage of this.
I mean, I’m sorry to hear about your experience but it’s kind of subjective. Every seller is different, just like it’s on sellers to deliver good work it’s also partly on buyers to make sure they’re properly vetting sellers before hiring them

Aside from rating, what other ways can the buyer check the credibility of a seller? Checking the sellers previous works, reading the reviews and ratings from their previous clients, right?
How can buyers certify that it’s indeed their work and that the reviews/ratings are not spam or bogus entries, we cannot filter the good from the bad I think, we have to read hundreds of reviews to find a genuine one.
It’s evident, AI is being pushed as a standard, they have an AI Artists section as well as articles on how to use it.
AI is a tool, I get that. I don’t mind designers using it to speed things up, as long as they also put in the work and provide solid results.

Fiver as a service sounds negative for programmers. It would allow companies to outsource work without giving important things such as medical benefits. All you'd get is cash
