I tried selling on Fiverr for 30 days.

  • Is becoming a new seller on Fiverr worth it or is the market completely over-saturated? I spent one month on Fiverr trying to get solid gigs to earn some decent side income.
Something to note: I'm making the assumption that one already owns/pays for the necessary hardware and software to complete the Fiverr gigs. The thought here is that Fiverr would be in addition to freelance income from other sources. Of course, you could take into account the cost of the Adobe CC subscription ($30/mo) and any other expenses if you'd like to subtract that from your revenue to find your actual profit from Fiverr.

I'm here two years later to thank you for this video. I've made way over 20K since i've started on Fiverr, and that might not sound like much for many people, but i live in Brazil, and that is way over the average income of Brazilian people. I was able to buy my car, rent a very big apartment, and at this point, i'm even hiring more people to expand my business! Thank you so much for this video!!!
    With love from Brazil!

You are the living proof of what i said in another comment, it's great for people in countries like yours, where 5$ USD goes a long way ( very happy for you BTW 🤗) but in Canada, 5$ is pocket change. Canadians or Americans can't compete with gigs from people in Brazil, Colombia, India...

    • @LucasWilluweit
      @LucasWilluweit ปีที่แล้ว +8

@@Cl-ue7wn I understand your point, but i don't think you're right. I've started charging $5 USD on my gigs, today i earn 1-2 average monthly salaries of an regular American citizen. The thing you learn by beign a freelancer on Fiverr is that if you're getting in to do what everyone else is doing, that isn't going to work at all. You've to start small, but get as good as you can, always learning, improving and trying to be the best on your nieche

Yes, 20% is painfully huge. The site runners are raking in huge money while sellers suffer. 5% would have been more than enough to be fair and true to the Fiverr name.

I watch a lot of how to make money online channels but most don't provide this kind of authenticity and value.
So I also wanted to start one pretty much like what you are doing that can give people actionable advise not just to clickbait people and earn ad revenue without helping the viewer.
You are great at what you do and this channel will blow up.
Keep at it and God bless.

While the target market audience for these sites are for people who don't want to pay at least minimum wage and don't know true value or real quality work and suffer with damages from making that poor decision of not working with real professionals.

I will go weeks without any orders, then suddenly I'll get 2 or 3 in the same day or two. I am still not getting a ton of orders, but I've made about 330$ from maybe 9 orders.

Thank you for making this Video. I have just joined fiverr about 40 days. I am a Shopify and Wordpress expert. I got my first order after 7 days. And as of today i have completed 10 orders with 5* review. I think i started pretty well so far. Looking to scale up now.

The website is super bloated. I got a really fat portfolio and I signed up for Fiverr and never made a dime.

Great image quality and edit, you've got a great aesthetic going on. There's a bit of whitenoise in the background coming from your mic though.

I do fiverr recently, and took me almost two weeks to get my first buyer. Then, he gave me job every week. The first time doing it, it is 4 revision. Then, I improved my skills a little since I know what the client wants. Then, another gig with new buyer but so many revision to do it. I almost give up since I priced as low as 5-10 dollars to do animation 2d video.
    Wish me luck.

I'm kinda in the same boat as you, it took me 3 weeks to get my first client and he wanted a lot of revisions which I was happy to do since he was my first customer. I do game montage video editing and my prices range from 5-20 dollars, and he maxxed out the order to do the 20 dollar one plus 10 dollars which was two day shipping. at the end I worked about 5 hours in total for him, and luckily he tipped me 30 dollars so I made 48 net after fiverr took the it's cut. What I'm trying to say is that you should probably raise your prices so your not working at a very low rate per hour. cheers

@@chetanbhabad1257 I've had a few orders, but nothing really significant yet. It's hard to get orders without a lot of customer reviews, but you can't get a lot of reviews without orders. Maybe I need to get some friends to fake some. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Fiverr is great for buyers looking for the best deal. I felt like I was competing against people who charge close to nothing for their gigs. I think it might be a great option if you live in countries where 5$ USD goes a long way, but I'm in Canada, 5$ is pocket change. I would need to complete at least 8 gigs per hour to make a basic living. Which is close to impossible... If you try charging more for your gig, you just become invisible to buyers.
