  • Body filler application is required in the custom car audio world to smooth out the beauty panels we make prior to paint or upholstery. Unfortunately the process can be very time consuming and well... ANNOYING! Unless... you know these tips. :)

    brother, I know this video is 2 years old but I haven't thought about car audio in ….I don't know how long... I'm just now finding them I have been making dust and kindlin for 30+ years in million dollar homes and have built and sold custom electric guitars and bass guitars with in-house pickups wound with my grandmothers sewing machine... You never cease to amaze me... nice shop

    Great videos! You really make awesome works. I saw all of your videos, a lot of subwoofer boxes, amp racks, door pannels, but i didn't saw any video of rear shelf building. I hope you make one some day

    I feel like this video is very similar to how you made them back in your early days which originally drew me to this channel. You should do more videos showing tips like this as they're more informative and educational to anyone wanting to learn. I've found too many of the recent ones seem more like marketing material for mobile solutions tools as you've been talking more about their products than talking through your process and techniques.
    Not meaning to have a dig or anything, just saying this is a good video and has some good information in it much like your earlier videos when you first started making them. I'd like to see more like this in the future

    hi mark, great video! could I use an orbital sander to sand the filler? or is it too aggressive for this kind of work?

    Hi have you ever worked on a Mitsubishi Lancer 2010-15 rear deck to put some extra speakers?

  • @BassMent70
    @BassMent70 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I started watching your videos a few years ago and built a system for my 2012 2 door Jeep Wrangler. I put my amp under drivers side dash by foot pedals and molded a sub box where you have mounted your amp and processors. Got the techniques from you and did some body filler and routing to make top look decent. I notice no Subwoofer in this build. If you were going to mount a sub where would you put it and where would you put the amps and processors? The Jeeps are great vehicles but space is limited, especially in the 2 doors.

    Why dose the body filler harden faster in a clump rather than flattened? Is it because in a clump it holds more heat from the cem reaction?

  • @wrangler10

    What's the proper way to extend an (expensive) audio cable ,from amp to speaker?(soldering?connectors?).Are copper connectors worth the money?

    This editing style is more informative on coming up to solutions to unforeseen circumstances. It works in a video like this where you are kind of changing your mind about a design and coming up with solutions, but its not as technical as some of your other videos.
    A good mix up of the two styles is great. Sometimes we need a real focus on the details and some where you just come up with "this works".

    • @CarAudioFabrication
      @CarAudioFabrication  7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      +Lonnie Fluty thanks for the input! body filler isn't a very technical thing so I felt this was a good video to switch it up and try something different. I really enjoyed making this video, it was more fun than usual, I want to make sure I keep having fun so this doesn't seem too much like work!

    I don't have any experience in these sorts of things, their price points etc., but I bet some small hydralic arms similar to what they use to hold hoods open (rated to an appropriate psi) would work great for making things easily accessible in a very professional manner.

    Decorative top stitching goes a long way towards Beauty on any build and I believe we can help with that. Send me a template so I can show you what it can truly look like with some decorative Stitchwork.
