    Once again, awesome tutorial. White is a really good idea. That way everything isn't black and dark.......as you said, gives it a good pop. Plus tying in the color of the vehicle. 👍

      On another note, are there any plans to do some sort of correction for where the trim ring overlaps the chamfers at the top of the holes for the amps and dsp?

    Since the trim rim it's wood and the rack underneath it's also wood my question is wouldn't it give you a rattling noise ? I didn't see anything in between that would keep it from vibrating against each other when the vase hits...

    White inner vinyl then black ultra plush suede for the cover lid, with CarAudioFabrication (or just C.A.F.)in raised lettering under the suede making it pop out of the suede, that would be sick.

  • @0SimpleSam
    @0SimpleSam 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    White would be harder to keep clean but vynil isn't bad at all when cleaning. You'll also have that cover. I say make it white and the cover black since you were originally going for a stealth build.

    Do a lighter color (like the white you mentioned) for the inside wrap then make a cover to hide everything in black like the outer edge of the amp rack cover board. Stealth when covered, accented when showing off underneath. My 2 cents... You have really gotten professional at not only your fab work but video making skills as well! Archiving these methods for future generations! GREAT WORK!

    Damn Mark! You Did it again, bad ass work! That "CLICK" of it snapping in place was epic. If you had made that trim ring more bright/light of a silver color then doing the balck vinyl inside would be cool. But since the outer perimeter is black and the trim ring is dark silver (almost metalic black), i vote for a white inner vinyl. Need that contrast and separation, too much darkness right now lol. On another note...how sturdy is that trim ring, looks like the strength of the magnets could almost pull it from ur hands hard enough to snap it in half. Is there a way you could and strength to that thin trim piece?

  • @Ziggy75gg
    @Ziggy75gg 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Previous comment was to accent the deep part with so the leds would pop. Here's an idea, paint the vertical parts white for 2 reasons, 1: matchs with the jeeps color scheme 2: changes when the leds hit them for more pop in the dark. Then hit the flat with the black vinyl you already have on it.

  • @WAKEFIELDRides
    @WAKEFIELDRides 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think black, or maybe even just a dark grey or silver, would best. I tend to think that white upholstery just looks kind of garish. You, yourself, mention the silver-ish trim in the vehicle, so I think that would match better IMO. Anyway, great video, Mark!

  • @ryandrzewiecki2467

  • @mrupholsteryman
    @mrupholsteryman 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    You could do houndstooth black and white pattern....but that would probably not match with the exterior.
    I like the white with the knowledge that it won't get quite so dirty with the cover protecting it from dirt etc.

  • @acwoodworks4987
    @acwoodworks4987 7 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @xaytana

    Color match the body paint, if it's a factory color, you can easily get small amounts of that from your dealership as touchup paint. I know white is white, but some manufacturers in the past have added blue into a special edition white to get an 'icy' look. Plus you already matched the color of the interior trim, why not match the color of the exterior.
    Also pro tip for router bits; use a collar on the shanks to keep a consistent height between your bits. They do this in machining and I've seen cabinet makers do this for their mating trim bits. It's good for when you swap bits a lot and need the same height between bits, plus it saves a lot of time when you aren't adjusting your lift between each bit.

    if you were to do white i would've done it on this ring. a large panel in white is more likely to get dirty. what color are your seats or seat inserts? i imagine there in silver range and i would go for that. if you do black i would go for a rougher texture than the vynil of the outer ring being for utility purposes.

    Hello a question for you 😅 do tou have a list or video about router bits you mainly use on your projects 🤔 I have watched nearly all of your videos in couble of weeks 😂 but the problem is I don't remember what bits you are using 😄 i am going to buy a router soon and it would be nice to know or have a list of those router bits you use.. i think that i will buy the smart pattern kit if i manage to order it to Finland ( not easy task 😅 because i have contacted to mobile solution and getting links to some site in Holland or somewhere and those sites are writed in their language 😂) kindly yours and thanks for answer if you have time and patient to read this message 😅😂 ( sorry about bad english 😅 from Finland so that tells you everything😂)

    white would probably look pretty good, but that's looking at it without the mesh grilles. Once you look at it with the mesh grilles, it might be too many different elements. Maybe a black carbon fiber vinyl if you really want to break it up a little. Personally I wouldn't go white because of the grille.

  • @WickedMoto
    @WickedMoto 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    or better yet maybe you can do a contrast of greys/silvers with the trim ring and the piece that you still need to cover. so maybe a silver that's a tad bit lighter than the trim ring, so the trim ring acts as an accent ring

  • @rhkips
    @rhkips 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would only go white if you're also able to add white accents to other parts of the interior--perhaps in custom door panels or something? Otherwise it might seem a bit forced and/or unbalanced. :]
