  • We show you how to properly mount an amplifier underneath a car seat. In our case we had to mount underneath a Bride racing set which made the installation much more difficult. We were able to get the proper clearance for the seat mechanism and were replaced and Alpine amp powering a subwoofer with a much larger 6-channel amp that powered the entire audio system.

    Instead of drilling through floorboards for amplifier deck construction adhesive works amazing 20yrs later i find it still bonding , dosen't require much

    This like a real car and not a show car. That's is real helpful, a lot of this installs are trucks and expensive vehicles. Not everyday drivers. This information I can actually put to use.

    That was a really clean install. I often wondered what the best way to secure an amp under the seat was. When I did mine I put some strips of wood under the carpet and screwed the amp into those but the nutserts and ABS panel is even better.

    I love how you use the soldering iron on the shrink wrap. I never thought of that!

    nice and clean build!! i only wonder. why not cramp new pins for the speaker connection and plug it straight to the connector instead of soldering the wires. in my opion you would have a cleaner look and a better flow since there is no solderd connection.

    Very clean. However, I’m not a fan of screwing amps right on carpet. I locate the plastic like you, then put it on top of the carpet and mount the amp to it, with a 1/4” spacer to allow for decent air flow. Personal preferences…

      @smetanavichlamanov8103 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep exactly. Cause you never ever know, even if you got an expensive amp, that if that thing get a hot enough it's going to melt straight into the carpet and ruin it completely and possibly the amp with having melted plastic go into the internal amp pcb board

    Doesn't it buzz like crazy with the rca's sip tide directly to the power cables?🤔

      I have the same question. I always thought you were supposed to run them far apart from each other and bot cross path if you can. But i dont know??

    • @RickEnsink
      @RickEnsink 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      He probably thought about it, normally the magnetic field affects the input signal. But perhaps his rca cables are shielded better. And also it would be a pain to get it up underneath the carpet to the other side without seeing it bulge up.🤷🏼‍♂️

    • @BTL3.0
      @BTL3.0 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rick Ensink maybe. But i think running the rca along side the center console would be just fine. Shorter distance. The rcas being flat will not bulge up at all. But maybe those are higher grade rcas, like you said. 🤷‍♂️

      Properly shielded wire should be fine

    Are you suppose to mount the install bay under the carpet. I seen another video saying you have to install the amp to the install bay and then mount it under the seat. I'm using that exact same amp you removed, lol.

    Clean simple install, but wouldn't you get signal noise when you run the power lead cables in close proximity with the audio cables?

    Just wanted to ask?
    If i have a 4 channel amp at 2x 4ohm's bridged and a single dual voice coil sub at 4 ohm's can i just wire each bridged channel to a coil?
    also is RMS on dual voice coil sub's measured per coil or together?
    Best Regards
    Martin

    Good work however I noticed at 3:59 the crimper you were using for the 4 gauge is only rated for 10 gauge and up wire. A hydraulic press one would of worked better. Again nice work!

    Neat install but not too sure about drilling straight through the floor. I've got the same car and guess I'll be make the mount using those structural rails instead.

    How do you guys tune your amplifiers? Multi meter or smdd 1

    • @Jamez84
      @Jamez84 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheapest most accurate way I've seen is to get a multimeter and 0db test tones at the Freq you want to begin your cut off. Then play the tones at a low volume, measure the voltage as you turn the crossover when it starts to drop you hit the Freq number your looking for. If your xover has a slope adjustment you will want to repeat the process if you change the slope from 6, 12, 18 etc. This can also be done with high pass and low pass. Play the desired tone and watch the voltage as you turn the knobs....

    Signal wires ziptied to power wires...... 😢 not gonna mention the other stuff. Be careful watching and using TH-cam videos as a guide of "how to"
