been looking for a comparison like this. been rocking a jelly star for a few months, but the tank mini really caught my eye. it just seems SO THICK, especially compared to the jelly star which is thick
Same... I love the jelly star, I have a blackview n6000. I like unihertz, and the atom L is the right size. The Tank mini has features I won't use. And it's just way too thick. Maybe they'll follow the atom L with an Atom 2 .
Good comparison video; thank you. Looks like the camera is a lot better on the Tank Mini, which is pretty much my only gripe on the Star. Would be nice to see some low-light tests, as that's where the Jelly camera really falls flat.
@@TheTechPreacher Yes, bad software support is not nice. I have a Unihertz phone, but we bought a Samsung S24 for my wife as it has good software support (7 years). We do our banking on the Samsung and not on my Unihertz. Unihertz is making nice phones, but they really must work on the software side and provide at least 5 years of software support.
I don't know why he is expecting unihertz to make this phone to be thinner when they have other phone in their line up that are thin and generic like any other smartphones.
I've used the jelly 2 (essentially the same as the star) for a few years and its the first phone that ever cracked the glass n it happened even though I had the thick rubber cover around it, a single half a meter drop getting out of a car and totally f'ed. No one can change it cause its a rare brand. Now it's been dying a slow motion explosion for longer than it should and I must get a new phone. Little bit concerned bout the panda glass on the tank mini but I think I'll pull the trigger on this one. Probably. Is it possible to only turn on the red light? I want to maintain my night vision when out star gazing or camping.
If it helps at all, I have owned the jelly too and I bought the jelly star. The jelly star is a huge improvement. More RAM, more storage, and way better camera. It's also Verizon approved. I use the star as my walking and hiking device to play music. I only get about one day battery use, but that's with playing podcasts or music. I also own a blackview n6000. Verizon doesn't want me to use it. It only works with my older 4G SIM. Works great on T-Mobile, T-Mobile just isn't great in my area.
Did you notice that they came out w a N6000SE which is worse than the original? I've been eyeing the N6000 for a while and its main drawback for me is the lack of a 3.5mm jack, also a little unsure abut the size - seems there is a lot of bezel that could have been avoided. The tank mini is essentailly the same specs (same display and chipset) but wo a bezel, w a 3.5mm and humungus battery.. Verizon n T-mobile are not in my country (europe?).
I was telling someone the other day that some of the last small phones will probably be rugged. Doogee S mini came out recently and it's like 200 bucks and only 4.5 in.
@TheTechPreacher i have seen that they are selling some without range finder in aliexpress and is the 8849 tank mini 1 and unihertz tank mini different?
Great video Eric!!! We're having a little slow time judging the election every though it's been kinda of steady stream of people today and I wanted to just relieve just a little stress and watch you my good friend video!!! 🤗❤️🤗❤️🤗❤️
That's the specs from unihertz and when I run the device information app it says 8200 The only thing else is for you to buy it and open it up and see the chipset for yourself to be 100 percent sure it has the 8200 in it. Good luck and let me know if it's true when you open it up
I know it's hard to believe a unknown company like unihertz using flagship processors and up to 24gb of RAM. I use these phones and the performance are amazing
@@TheTechPreacher Thanks! I just checked Tank3 on eBay and noticed a mismatch in processor description:A76(2) and A55(6) (are from G99). (Two sellers). As we know Dimencity 8200 is A78(4) and A55(4). Thanks for real life info!
How does the Tank Mini compare to the Atom L/XL? I love my Atom L. I'm too clumsy for the Jelly, and it's just a tiny bit TOO small for me, but the Atom L is perfectly fine. It is however pretty thick and bricky. I don't know if I wanna go much thicker, but I'm gonna need to replace my Atom L eventually. Holy crap, dude, your gigantic hands make these small phones look absolutely miniature. How the hell do you manage to use them?
I don't need it to survive all elements of nature, just being dropped in the sink while washing dishes every few months and a toddler that gets ahold of my phone and chews on it - that is what draws me to the tank mini. The other unihertz rugged phones have OS's older than my current Pixel 3. I would like a minor upgrade on OS which is what draws me to the tank mini again. But I also like the idea of the small screen of the jelly star. The main draw to me on the Jelly star is "it's cute" haha. Otherwise It seems obvious that the tank mini is the clear winner.

Yeah no need for low light the cameras is not that good in low light
Thanks for watching I really appreciate it
Yep, the camera is better on the tank mini.
@@TheTechPreacherIn your opinion, which camera is better, (video and taking photos)?
@hoangho6383 tank mini but it's not the best in the camera department
I have the og tank and would get the mini if unihertz would promise a few security patches..
Unihertz watches all my videos hopefully they will hear our call for more software support thanks for watching I really appreciate it

Your background is dope. Well done sir👏🏼
Ayyyyy thanks
I know it'll probably be just me but I like my devices to be thick so I know they're not fragile lol
Hahhahaha
Not only this, but thin phones are very hard to hold in the hand, I hate them.

i looove the chunky phones, rugged and waterproof. I'll never buy an iphone or samsung 😂
