I *love* Kara's and Julian's takes on these characters. Nothing will ever replace the '65 film in my heart, of course - I grew up on it - but in some ways these two are just a bit closer to my heart. Absolutely glorious performances, and their voices blend *perfectly.*
This is such a romantic song from “Sound of Music”. I listen to it often. Julian Overdon has a magnificent voice! He is blessed. He sings with such passion.
This was a version of my most favourite musical with so much TRUTH! This version was sooo much better than the US version. The actress and actor were sooo honest in their delivery and acting! Beautifully done!
From the first time I heard him sing, I was astounded by his beautiful voice and amazing musicianship. I also discovered he is an actor as well, when I saw him on Midsomer Murders. He is absolutely amazing as a singer and actor! Gina Dodds, USA, Bellmore, NY
OMG... I cried! This one is so 1000% better than the Carrie Underwood one. I never heard about Kara but she sings it so beautifully. Julian is Julian... what more can I say? XXOOXO
This is how it should be done, the productions I've seen over the last couple of years had them standing about 6 foot away from each other no interaction at all.
I wish they would have filmed this on a traditional stage or they would have directed the acting for the screen instead. Julian is stage acting - as fabulous as he is and it's a bit distracting
As well, this is a piece where Maria is very restrained. I recall this being very similar to how Julie Andrews sang this song. Kara's sound in fact reminds me very much of Julie.
She's an actress not a singer or a musical theater preformer , but he's a tenor you can check him out singing Maria from West Side Story, and i think they arranged the music this way so she can sing a suitable key for her
Well, your comment just goes to show that many people on the autistic spectrum find it impossible to "read" the intentions of basically bad people - like the Nazis - and basically good people, like the von Trapps ;-)
Love this version. She is so down to earth like Maria and he sings like an angel.

Still 100x better than the Carrie Underwood version
Did this come before or after the Julie Andrew's Sound of Music?
After. The Julie Andrews version is from 1965. This one is from 2015
Isn't love grand
I didn't like it as much as the film but he was a better actor
Here the Captain is better singer than Maria.
dianavictoria Aljadeff he is professionally trained singer but kara is an actress and this is her first time as a singer
As well, this is a piece where Maria is very restrained. I recall this being very similar to how Julie Andrews sang this song. Kara's sound in fact reminds me very much of Julie.
Julie Andrews acting outshines, though the singing here was good.
The singers are too soft. Can hardly hear her. Does she have a tiny voice like that?
She's an actress not a singer or a musical theater preformer , but he's a tenor you can check him out singing Maria from West Side Story, and i think they arranged the music this way so she can sing a suitable key for her
They should do the musical from the perspective of the Third Reich and how they were only trying to help this family but the family was too stuck up.
Autism Rules this is either an unfunny “joke” or a sick comment.
