I am wondering why I have not seen this earlier. Been struggling so long with taming the ark (hardstyle). Just tried it with the thumb in front and rotation up and down. Stoked. The only thing I do not know is if the hardstyle police allows it. But who cares...😬
They don't but f*** it unless you're going for a certification that they may have to pass you on their personal form It doesn't matter it's what fits the user the most
I’ve been doing a lot of snatches lately and was aware of pinning my arm pit to my body on the upswing and releasing it with a hip thrust or pop at the end of the movement. It makes a huge difference in the ease of movement and the handling of heavy weight. I still have work to do on the upper body mechanics and position after seeing your vid. watching my form - i def go over the top (with my hand insertion) as opposed to the rotation on the outside. probably my years of hardstyle prior. but i also feel my insertion begins soon enough that the bell flipping over my hand doesnt add much additional stress. i could also be wrong.

I did the punch through method and my arms were beat up for almost a week, punch through flip method sucks
