This is so epic and must have been such an awesome experience. Just one thing, I still haven’t heard another ASC siren do all the tones and include a fast wail. The ECN in Milton, WI, has a fast wail tone but it’s never been heard elsewhere
Hello from Canada I really like this siren the hi lo tone at the beginning is music to my ears we dont have thes anywhere in Canada now theres 1 city in Ontario called Sarnia that had these in the 2000s used for hazmat nuclear and severe weather such as Tornados they got replaced by these crappy ones that suck i wqith they were still there
They're a little different. Mostly ACA and ASC use a 6/7 tone ratio in their alertronics while the 1003 is 5/6. This changes the undertones and the roar if it's on an analog controller. Also this siren is always dual-tone in every signal but the 1003 can only produce two tones so it's hi lo is "single tone"
I'm assuming this has a newer ASC controller because of the lightning strikes which probably fried the analog one. It's cool that they kept it dual-tone!
@@sirensofneohio3979 It appears to be a very early ACA digital controller. These (with the exact same box) were later rebranded with the familar ASC blue rectangle logo after ACA went under in 1992-1993. i.imgur.com/0gA3wHQ.jpg
This one had a logic board replacement at some point. The 6000R was discontinued and replaced with the AR-1600 before they switched to digital. The first AR-1600s were analog, and the earlier digital boards peaked at the same pitch in alert as they did fire and attack.
They do wind up, it’s just not audible. They were designed to activate the tone generator before engaging the amplifiers. Sarnia Ontario Canada had these in the late 1980s early 90s and they were programmed to engage the amplifiers first, thus had an audible wind up.
ACS and ASC's digital controllers do have a windup but it's at a very low amplitude to give nearby people a notice before it blasts at full volume. This one does it, but it's just hard to hear. Some controllers are programmed incorrectly or purposefully so they don't wind up, but more often than not they will.
As member of said department, it still goes off for most calls. Non emergency calls it does not go off. We use the initial tones as our alert. I knew it had different signals but this is the first time hearing the others.
I love this kind of siren more than the Whelens using the HI-LO tone.
That Hi-Lo tone sounds majestic!
Man that is such a cool sounding siren. Glad it was finally recorded!
I’m very happy we got a video of it too. It’s too close to my house to have been left unrecorded
I personally think 850/1020Hz MadahComs sound the coolest
I am shocked just by hearing all signals of this thing. Lucky you.
Well “all signals” technically but they messed up attack and didn’t let it recycle back up
@@sirensofneohio3979 Still shocked tho.

We thank you for having us! Definitely made the 3+ hour drive worth it!
well now we got to hear another dual tone 6000R out there, man if only ROLLING MEADOWS COULD HAVE DONE THAT

I love how it charges up for the alert

Hmm I have never heard a siren go this high on hertz, sounds almost musical. Dual tone for the win.

Sounds godly
Sounds like a electronic version of the Thunderbolt 1003

Cool sounding, but the no windup/down kinda sucks. Sounds like some others nearby do wind up/down
The one thing i dont lke about those is the tones just cut in no wind up it is just anoying when you live near whelen 4004s and 4008 and 2910 sirens
