Sabaton is a swedish band and their lead singer is called Joakim. They sing about military history. Real events, battles and people. This song is about the Christmas Truce of 1914 in early WW1. They have a TH-cam channel called "Sabaton History" where a historian explains what each of their songs is about. Definitely worth checking out. If you wanna check out some more of their songs, here are some recommendations: "No bullets Fly " (I recommend the animated story video) "The Attack of the Dead Men" "The Red Baron" (Also the animated story video) "40:1" (Many people like to see the Live version from Woodstock, but you can't really hear the music very well, so I recommend the Music video)
The best live song from Sabaton has got to be Sabaton - En livstid i krig. I have never ever seen a crowd sing so loud, like a choir. Almost outsinging Joakim. And its so fitting that its the song about the 30 years war. Considering that the swedish version is from a swedish soldiers perspective. We are only 10 million swedes in 2022, imagine how few we were in the 30 years war. Everyoner back then experienced it. The 30 years war is sometimes cited as a part of the reason why swedish people have wanted to stay out of war. There are even rumours that the swedish king "Gustavus Adolphus" (also a sabaton song, he was the father of modern warfare. No, really.) was killed by his own men. Also, not to forget that sweden during the 30 years war also encompased what is now known as Finland. It used to be eastern Sweden and was taken by Russia in 1814. Thats why swedish is still an official language of Finland to this day. We were one country for 600 years. In the 1900s the finns got their independance from Russia but always harboured a hatred towards sweden for taking them back from russia. Who has always and supposedly will always be a horrible ruler. From what we have seen this year. Unfortunately, because Gustavus Adolphus died without an heir, Sweden got a french person as a king who didnt have any familiar feelings towards Finland, so he decided we should take Norway of Denmark insterad. Atleast sweden was kinder to the norwegians than the danes were but thats not how most of them remember it.
@@n0namesowhatblerp362 Yeah the live one in Gotheburg is insane. It is also fun when people are making a comparison two the Swedish and English lyrics because it is from different perspective. The Swedish one is from a persons perspective. While the English one is from a general perspective. :)
Knew the Sabaton Army would show up, they always do 😁. Thanks for the awesome reaction as well as the shout out. These guys will not disappoint you. They've been around since '99 I believe. This song is off their latest album all about WWI The War to End All Wars.
This is a true story about the un-organised christmas truce between both sides early on in the war on the front during the 1st world war. It happened in multiple places along the front. Mostly between British, French and German soldiers. They played football, exchanged chocolate and shook hands. It has been a legend and lesson for all of us living in northern Europe ever since :)
I like that they credited everyone who had something to to with that video, even the drivers and trench diggers. And the drummer's wife, who vocalized during end credits.
Most of their songs are about Military History. From Swededn and formed in 1999, lead singer Joakim Broden and bassist Par Sundstrom are the primary songwriters. They are the only original members left. Chris Rorland and Tommy Johansson on guitar, Hannes Van Dahl on drums. For more try, Bismarck, Soldier of Heaven, Ghost Division, or the animated story videos for No Bullets Fly and Night Witches. The ending credit female vocals are performed by Floor Jansen. She is married to the drummer, and is the 3rd and current lead singer of a symphonic metal band called Nightwish. If you would like to check that band out, try Ghost Love Score(live at Wacken 2013)
As other commenters have said, this is about a real event that happened at the onset of World War 1. Two armies that had been engaged in bloody combat for weeks stopped and had a Christmas truce. They exchanged gifts, played games, had a massive Christmas service together and treated each other as friends and brothers. True story. All of Sabaton's songs are based on history, usually incredible people and events. You should check out more of their stuff; most of their stuff skews more into the hard rock category.
Welcome down the rabbit hole of discovering Sabaton! Sabaton is a Swedish band that write songs based on true historical war events. They also have a second channel; Sabaton history, where they tell the story and history behind the songs. Highly recommend it! Make sure to always watch their videos to the very end. I've seen other reactors that have stopped the videos too early, and have most of the times missed something. Would be a shame if you did. I can give you a few tips on songs to listen to: Night witches (animated story video), Bismarck, No bullets fly (animated story video), Swedish pagans, Carolus Rex. I would like to suggest to combine your music video reaction with the history video. You will learn a lot! Welcome to the Sabaton family!
You can never go wrong reacting to Sabaton. One thing I love about this band is that you can point to the majority of things they sing about and say, yes, that actually happened. Generally speaking, Sabaton doesn't make stuff up and it's because history already gives us so much great material.
Sabaton is from Sweden. The Lead singer is named Joakim Brodén. The song is about an actual event that happened in World War I. There is still a monument at the site where the truce took place.
In the end you here Floor Janssen singing. She is married to Hannes van Dahl, the drummer of Sabaton. But she is more known as the singer of Nightwish so try Ghost Love Score from Wacken 2013 and you will be blown away 😊
This song is set in WW1 during the Christmas Truce. It mostly took place between British and German troops who believed they would be home by Christmas. However, the war continued and the men were sick of war. So for one day, they decided to stop fighting and see each other as fellow human beings. The war began in 1914 and would end in 1918. And the unfair treatment towards the defeated Germany after the war was a big reason for the outbreak of WW2 over 20 years later in 1939. Also the band is from Sweden
Fantastic reaction. One of my favorite songs. Got me through a rough time. Ended up in icu with covid on Christmas Day and watching the reactions to this song helped me to get through my 2 week hospital stay. Keep on with the Sabaton!
The actual cross is still on display in Belgium. Bless sabaton for reminding us on history made and the impact it has on our lives now. (think it should teach us all something but....)
Good reaction! I like that you went in blind about the band and the subject.. Man I could sit and talk forever about all the stories Sabaton tell in their songs, but it's only fair to tell you they actually have their own history channel on TH-cam (called Sabaton History), might be cool to react to a song, then the history video behind it!
This song is awesome, the whole band is. This is also a real story, not just a story, this happened during the first World War somewhere on the battlefield. I"m sure someone from the Sabaton Army is able to explain it better. I'm a huge fan of Sabaton but truly belong to the Nightwish Army ( The singer in the end is Floor Jansen the wife of Hannes). Enjoy many more of their awesome songs like Bismarck, the Night Witches and Winged Hussars etc etc.
Nice reaction, I am afraid you have the same misconception of heavy metal most do; screaming, dark and evil lyrics, loud simple compositions. Metal is a diverse, stimulating genre that runs from folk music to death metal. Sabaton is a Swedish band who music covers historical events, emphasizing heroism, sacrifice, and honor. They do not glorify wars, most of their music is about the horror of war and the individuals who rise above it. They do not pick sides and their songs are very accurate. Their music videos tend to be very cinematic, and their concerts are insane and full of energy. A deep rabbit hole if you chose to go in. Yes, this is the amazing (impossible might be the better word) truce in 1914 WWI. The Germans were singing Christmas carols that the British recognized and began to sing. The two sides started shouting messages across No Man's Land and an unofficial truce was arranged. The generals made sure it did not happen again. And yes, there is a real cross in France that commemorates the truce, I believe place in 1997. As far as other metal types, there are hundreds of excellent metal bands in Europe. Choose a band and try them out. Not sue what your vibe is so I am hesitant to suggest. I will say some of my favorites are Nightwish, Civil War, Ayreon, Saltatio Mortis, Iron Maiden, and Orden Ogan. Thanks and have a great metal adventure, we'll follow along.
The song was about a real event . during ww1 just a few months in to the war , the germans started to sing christmass carols in the evening , where the british and french starting to sing as well, warning each others side when they would fire a shot in the air to keep up apearances , and when the germans where cooking their evening meals a french soldier crossed no man land and joined them for dinner this happend along the most of the front lines they even played football exchanged small gifts . Several of the higher commanders where not happy with it as they orderd artilery strikes etc . but the soldiers ignored the orders . it was realy a christmass miracle .
This band has a variety of different style of songs. They have songs like this that have a ballad sound. Then you have really fast and heart pounding songs like The Lion From The North and Hellfighters. You have songs like Carolus Rex and Bismarck that are slower but still very heavy. Then there are songs like The End Of The War That Will End All Wars that are very grand and dramatic. And of course everything else in between.
I started going down the rabbit hole that is Sabaton and have totally loved it. The entire almbum "The War to End All Wars" is so good. Carolus Rex album. Last Stand, Heroes, Bismark...all of em, just all of em.
Sabaton is A Swedish band that write songs about history, yea, actuall events/persons... and they do it well, and many of their videos are (as you just saw) astonishing. yes the cross stands there near Ypre. Sabaton actually have a channel here on TH-cam about the history behind all their history based songs (roughly 100 of them). there you get the history behind the event/person... and how/why they made the song.
It's WW1, 1914 Belgium. A true story. If it hasn't been suggested yet check out there song " Bismark" about the German battle ship Bismark the British sank in 1941. Another band is Nightwish, Ghost love score live at Wacken 2013. The female lead singer of Nightwish is married to the drummer of Sabaton,( she also sings the outro /credits of this video) Hannes van Dahl ( the blond guy that got blown up at the beginning) enjoy.
oh, forgot to recommend you few more from Sabaton, The animated STORY videos of either night witches or no bullets fly. then we have epic productions like Bismark, Defence of Moscow, winged hussars. for heavy emotional content, how about "To hell and back" an all American hero, Audie Murphy (medal of honor was just one of many) that when back home after the war had BAD PTSD and was addicted to opioids from the many wounds treated. or what about a live performance, En livstid I krig (lifetime of war) , live from Göteborg Sweden, it is in Swedish but there are subtitles, heavy lines there, like "see me like a father, son, brother or husband that never comes home".
What an AMAZING 🌟CHRISTMAS🌟 Song by SABATON. The lyrics and the MUSIC inspire You. And the Video, Unbelievable. All Band Members play a Role. It's also a piece of history. You can learn a lot!!!! It's very...... EMOTIONAL 😢 This a Gift for Christmas ☃️🎄🕊️ We are all.... We are all.... We are all.... We are all.... FRIENDS 🤝🤝🏾🤝🏽 For Me The CHRISTMAS SONG of the Year 2021...💫 A little PEACE ✌️ And LOVE for EACH OTHER Thank you so much Love from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
Welcome to sabaton also the lady singing at the end is floor lead singer of nightwish she is married to the drummer ( the guy that walked first to no man’s land)
Yes, the Cross is still standing on the same field where it happened, the field itself is farmland, and sometimes people leave footballs near the cross.
Welcome to Sabaton! Every song is monumental and are about a real moment in history. You can throw a dart at their catalogue and youll hit something amazing.
Check out Sabaton's TH-cam channel called Sabaton History, where they have an actual historian explain about the people and events their songs are about. Also as a fun fact: Sabaton's drummer is actually married to Floor Jansen the greatest female singer to ever walk the planet and the lead singer of Nightwish.
Hello cooking dad 🤗 This is a powerful piece that tells a true story. If you are being curious about metal/ symphonic metal youre in for a treat, when you look at Finnish, Swedish and Dutch bands. Within temptation Epica Amaranth Arch enemy Opeth Children of Bodom Nightwish (maybe the greatest band of all) Wintersun (EEEEPPIIIIIIC MUSIC) Aman amarth DAD ( former known as Disneyland after dark, but Disney banned the name, so they are just dad 😄) Those bands are just those I can remember, so, dig in and let your horizon widen up 🤗🤗 Greetings from Denmark 🇩🇰🇩🇰
What you really need to react is Sabaton's Fields of Verdun, which puts this song into a lot of context. Especially what made this incident so special, which has never been repeated ever since.
They are Swedish. They have said this was their hardest song to write and that it took them years. The female vocalist over the credits is the drummer's wife and lead singer of Nightwish
If you do more Sabaton reactions, I highly recommend checking the out the background of the song on the Sabaton History Channel, where they provide the historical context.
10 albums (+) to go. Sabatonic History - History taught with Metal. They also have a Sabaton History Channel that expands on the stories they sing about.
Thank you for watching. More sabaton reactions coming soon. Make sure to stick around for more. I’m also doing reactions to the Sabaton history channel
This is a truly great song from Sabaton. A fun fact is that the choirs in the end is performed by Floor Jansen, the lead singer in Nightwish and also wife (or fiance) to the Sabaton drummer Hannes Van Dahl. You should do a reaction to "En livstid i krig" live from Gothenburg aswell! (It has english subs). It's probably one of the most epic live performances of all times!
I just found your channel. I like your PTX and Sabaton reactions. One of my favorite Sabaton songs is “To Hell and Back”. Another one of their songs I love is,”Lady in the Dark.”I also would enjoy seeing you react to the music from a anime show called RWBY and to a TH-camr named Rob Landes.
Sabaton is a Swedish band with the lead singer called Joakim Bröden. They've sung about battles, people, and developments such as the tank. They have two albums about World War One. You are listening to song 10 of The War to End All Wars, their most recent album. They have another album based on World War One, The Great War. They have a history channel called Sabaton History where Time Ghost producer, World War Two In Real Time producer Indy Neidell, and one of the band's members talk about the songs context. I recommend the following songs if you wanna get into Sabaton: Panzerkampf, Father (The newest one as of typing), Race to the Sea, Carolus Rex, Attack Of The Dead Men, Sparta, Seven Pillars of Wisdom, The Unkillable Soldier, Soldier of Heaven and there's a lot more
So, the Christmas Truce of 1914 takes a little explaining. World War One is less than a year old at this point. Both sides are shocked by the sheer ferocity of the conflict. They marched to war in the same old way, expecting to fight for a few months before returning home victorious. What they got instead was a vicious stalemate, with both sides suffering losses on a scale unlike anything seen before. Warfare in the industrial age was far more brutal, far more deadly, and already there were signs that this was going to be a long war. The comes Christmas. All up and down the lines of the Western Front, the soldiers, cold, miserable, and homesick, decided that they'd had enough. Sometimes it was semi-official, with officers working out truces beforehand for things like body retrieval. Sometimes it was spontaneous, with soldiers leaving their trenches of their own initiative. Whatever the case, thousands of men left the relative safety of their trenches, walked across the bombed and blasted no man's land, and shook hands with their enemy. They sang, traded small gifts, and as the music video showed, even played soccer. They also retrieved the fallen in many places, ensuring they could have a proper burial. For one brief, shining moment, humanity won out against its baser instincts. And then, High Command on both sides found out about the truce, and they were furious. They ordered that no further truces of that nature were ever to be repeated. They moved units around on the frontlines, fearful that they might become reluctant to fight men they had bonded with. In the coming years, as the war grew even more desperate and hatred infested the ranks on both sides, no one would want to repeat the 1914 truce.
Amazing reaction.😀 For future Sabaton reactions: if there is animated STORY version available, always pick that cause it gives more backstory about things that lead the situation where the song actually starts. And some videos have little message until last seconds of the video though the song seem´s to be end.
This is documenting in song many of ceasefires that happened in WWi in the trenches on Christmas Day 1914. Ardennes Forest is mostly where this was mentioned.
That cross exists and is located in Ypres, Belgium ;) Something you haven't noticed but the vocals at the end were made by Floor Jansen, who is actually the wife of Hannes, Sabaton's drummer !
It is a real fact, in the first world war the Pope asked for a truce on Christmas day , nobody say anything but the soldiers go outside the trenches and share the day together, Germans, French, English... And this is the only Christmas song that I like.
Welcome to the rabbit hole my friend. Sabaton writes to remember War, not to make it more heroic or something good but to remember what has happened. All but their first album is dedicated to historical events... 2/3 of which not even me as a military history nerd would have even come across. I guarantee there's plenty of explanations down below of exactly what this event was, so I'll let people with more skill explain.
I love Sabaton! Thank you for reaching to them! Could you react to Aces in exile (the music video that shows the British and German planes fighting) its an awesome video, here's a link to it: th-cam.com/video/cneR4iDG9N0/w-d-xo.html
You can't go wrong with any song from their new album and there's a lot of older songs you should listen to. Bismarck is one. It's about the battle ship Bismarck. Night witches and No bullets fly both the animated version. Swedish pagans Carolux Rex (both the Swedish and the English version) En livstid I Krig (A lifetime of war) both the Swedish and the English version Lejonet från Norden (The lion from the North) (both the Swedish and the English version) Konungens likfärd (Long live the king) both the Swedish and the English version Livgardet (The royal guard) (both the Swedish and the English version) Steel commanders Kingdom come Defence of Moscow To hell and back The Carolean's prayer 82nd all the way The attack of the dead men Great War Ghost division The last stand Hill 3234 Rourke's drift The lost battalion Inmate 4859 Resist and bite Smoking snakes 40:1 Uprising Talvisota Attero dominatus The final solution Sarajevo The Red Baron Winged Hussars Devil dogs Their newest album "The war to end all wars" (released 2022): Christmas truce (The one you reacted to. It's about the Christmas truce during WW1. It never happened again but a few tried the next year but everyone was threaten by court martial. The top don't want truce they want soldiers to kill eachother. After this Christmas truce they had problems with the soldiers involved. They didn't want to kill their new friends. They realised that all the soldiers was brothers not only the one fighting on the same side so many had to be relocated) Stormtroopers Dreadnought The unkillable soldier Soldiers of heaven Hellfighters Race to the sea Lady of the dark The valley of the death Sarajevo (best listen to as first song of the the alum songs or before Versailles, my opinion) Versailles (best listen to as the last song) Sabaton has their own history channel on TH-cam were they tell the story behind the songs because most of their songs are based on true stories. 🤓🇸🇪🇺🇦🕊
The 1914 Christmas Truce is quite well known in Europe, but less so in the US as the Americans did not join WW1 until 1917. I you are interested in true was stories listening to Sabaton is a good start. They also have their own TH-cam history channel where they discuss their songs in more detail with a historian Indy Neidell (who has acted as historical figures in some of their music videos.) th-cam.com/users/SabatonHistory
Sabaton does history - it's all true stories and they don't "pick sides" and show heroism, valor and mercy by good people in the worst of times. If I may suggest / request - try "No Bullets Fly" (it's 8:50 long - w/Yarnhub) - a true story about valor and mercy. Would you be up to do a reaction to that one?
Yeah, I think the newest one went up in the 1990s, but I'm pretty sure there's always going to be a new one. Imagine landing the contract for the next replacement. That'd be an epic commission for any carpenter. Real simple thing to make. It will be seen by thousands every year.
If you want to learn more of the histories that sabaton songs, go to their sabaton history channel. Next: no bullets fly and night witches (both Should be full animated versions).
Sabaton has been half-jokingly called "a bunch of Swedish history teachers who decided to form a metal band because they'd reach a wider audience". Most of their material is based on military history. Not just the World Wars, either...they just released "Lion From the North" which is based on Gustavus Adolphus, King of Sweden in the early 1600s. The 1914 Christmas truce of World War I really happened. It was a major embarrassment to both sides, and the top brass on both sides immediately broke up the units involved and transferred the soldiers. They then ordered artillery barrages to make sure such a thing never happened again.
there is a movie about this. if i remember correctly it is called "Joyeux Noël', which means Merry Christmas in french. the movie is good. it describes something that realy happened, a REAL christmas wonder. and i highly adwise you to do some research about world war 1! this was the most horrific war, mankind ever experienced. hell on earth. every human on the world should learn about this war.
En livstid i krig / lifetime at war live at Gothenburg its about Swedens (and European) 30 year war from the perspective of the individual. Eng lyrics for the video. Professionally recorded video and audio by the band/stage crew. It will definetly move you.
May I ask a question? Do they not teach history in the US? I've just come from another reaction to Sabton's Bismarck and they didn't know it happened during WW 2 and that the "Kriegsmarine" was another ship .. while it literally means the War Navy in German. Now you don't know that this is WW1 .. i'm confused, this is basic history of the wars the US participated in ...
US didn´t join WW 1 but 1917, and into WW 2 until 1941. Both songs topics happens before so they mostly teach parts were US were involved. I really don´t know i´m from Finland so.
hi from germany 1914 was first world war my grand grand dad fighted 1939, second war started my dad fighted in it and said the only good thing about that war was you could travel all american guys who died on the battle field as ghost they probly ask doese anyone know why we fighted for? specialy now that america is splitted get back to your riots dammit

Right on brother. I’m glad you hipped me to this band. So different. I have very eclectic musical tastes. This one makes the plays list.

Thank you. Really enjoying the journey so far. Thanks for the great suggestions!
This beautiful opera aria is performed by - Floor Jansen from Nightwish. Privately, wife of Hannes Van Dahl - Sabaton's drummer.
And what's awesome is, even though the styles are different, you can still tell they're Sabaton songs.
I started going down the rabbit hole that is Sabaton and have totally loved it. The entire almbum "The War to End All Wars" is so good. Carolus Rex album. Last Stand, Heroes, Bismark...all of em, just all of em.
Fantastic!! Grandiose!!!
The female lead singer of Nightwish is married to the drummer of Sabaton,( she also sings the outro /credits of this video) Hannes van Dahl ( the blond guy that got blown up at the beginning) enjoy.
oh, forgot to recommend you few more from Sabaton, The animated STORY videos of either night witches or no bullets fly.
then we have epic productions like Bismark, Defence of Moscow, winged hussars.
for heavy emotional content, how about "To hell and back" an all American hero, Audie Murphy (medal of honor was just one of many) that when back home after the war had BAD PTSD and was addicted to opioids from the many wounds treated.
or what about a live performance, En livstid I krig (lifetime of war) , live from Göteborg Sweden, it is in Swedish but there are subtitles, heavy lines there, like "see me like a father, son, brother or husband that never comes home".
if you like this you would be awed by them in concert. The best show Ive ever seen in 54 years
Ill recommend " Father", " Soldier of heaven" " Carolus rex" in both swedish and english. Livgardet and The royal guard is allso two of my favorites.
Sabatons videos is always very high quality and almost like watching a movie

I love watching people 'meet' Sabaton. :)
Welcome to sabaton also the lady singing at the end is floor lead singer of nightwish she is married to the drummer ( the guy that walked first to no man’s land)
The 'Khaki Chums' memorial cross, in St Yvon, Belgium, was erected in remembrance of the Christmas Truce in 1914
Yes, the Cross is still standing on the same field where it happened, the field itself is farmland, and sometimes people leave footballs near the cross.
Welcome to Sabaton! Every song is monumental and are about a real moment in history. You can throw a dart at their catalogue and youll hit something amazing.
It really does seem like it. I’ll be going down this rabbit hole very soon. Like and subscribe for more videos.
@@dadwhatsfordinner If you're interested in further info about the songs they have a history channel. That does a 15-20 minutes video about each song.
Hello cooking dad 🤗

Greetings from Denmark 🇩🇰🇩🇰
What you really need to react is Sabaton's Fields of Verdun, which puts this song into a lot of context. Especially what made this incident so special, which has never been repeated ever since.
They are Swedish. They have said this was their hardest song to write and that it took them years. The female vocalist over the credits is the drummer's wife and lead singer of Nightwish
You can really tell they put a lot of work into this one
The cross at the end of the video stands in Ypres, Belgium.
Yes, there is a line of Crosses making the front at the time still standing in parts of France.
Just seen them live in LA couple weeks ago and it was fantastic! They sang Christmas Truce. Loved your reaction to the video.
Das ist das schönste Weihnachtslied aller Zeiten.
Sabaton is on tour in the us right now 🤟🇸🇪
Oooh. I wonder if they are coming Colorado. I definitely have some more reactions coming soon. Like and subscribe for more
@@dadwhatsfordinner they were in Denver last month. US tour is about over. I got to see them in Oakland, and they were amazing.
@@dadwhatsfordinner I wish I'd gotten up to Denver but didn't have the time. They are definitely worth seeing in person if you can get away with it.
Sabaton is King
If you do more Sabaton reactions, I highly recommend checking the out the background of the song on the Sabaton History Channel, where they provide the historical context.
You need to watch "En livstid i krig" with captions. That is a real and powerful song!

Great reaction on this Swedish band. Thank you!
Thank you for watching. More sabaton reactions coming soon. Make sure to stick around for more. I’m also doing reactions to the Sabaton history channel
Joeux Noel is a 2005 movie about this subject. I really liked it. 🍻
I reacted to en livstid i krig at Gothenburg. Go check it out brother. Like and subscribe for more in the way.
@@dadwhatsfordinner I saw that after i comented. 🙈
No worries brother 😀
I just found your channel. I like your PTX and Sabaton reactions. One of my favorite Sabaton songs is “To Hell and Back”. Another one of their songs I love is,”Lady in the Dark.”I also would enjoy seeing you react to the music from a anime show called RWBY and to a TH-camr named Rob Landes.
I’ll give it a shot. Thanks for checking out my videos
@@dadwhatsfordinner You’re welcome.
I recommend the following songs if you wanna get into Sabaton: Panzerkampf, Father (The newest one as of typing), Race to the Sea, Carolus Rex, Attack Of The Dead Men, Sparta, Seven Pillars of Wisdom, The Unkillable Soldier, Soldier of Heaven and there's a lot more
I believe this track took them 7 years to make. They wanted it to be perfect and it really is!
Знову, ого, а цей канал часто випускає відео, це добре. Смачного
The Last Stand by Sabaton had me hooked from day 1.
If that cross isn't there, it should be.
That cross exists and is located in Ypres, Belgium ;)
Something you haven't noticed but the vocals at the end were made by Floor Jansen, who is actually the wife of Hannes, Sabaton's drummer !
yes, the "original" Cross they portrayed is still there on a farmers field in Flandres
Thanks. Such an interesting piece of history.
If you want to know the background of the songs, the description usually have a short snippet of the historical context.
Sabaton has a history channel on TH-cam they give the historical background story to their songs well worth checking out
the drummers wife did the vocals during the credits Floor Jensen.
It is a real fact, in the first world war the Pope asked for a truce on Christmas day , nobody say anything but the soldiers go outside the trenches and share the day together, Germans, French, English...
And this is the only Christmas song that I like.
And it's about the Christmas truce of 1914 that happened on part of the western front
Interesting topic choice but I like it. Learning while listening to great music. I’m looking forward to going down this rabbit hole.
I love Sabaton! Thank you for reaching to them!

Christmas truce (The one you reacted to. It's about the Christmas truce during WW1. It never happened again but a few tried the next year but everyone was threaten by court martial. The top don't want truce they want soldiers to kill eachother. After this Christmas truce they had problems with the soldiers involved. They didn't want to kill their new friends. Sabaton has their own history channel on TH-cam were they tell the story behind the songs because most of their songs are based on true stories.

They have both animated and story animated versions of songs.
The 1914 Christmas Truce is quite well known in Europe, but less so in the US as the Americans did not join WW1 until 1917.
I you are interested in true was stories listening to Sabaton is a good start. They also have their own TH-cam history channel where they discuss their songs in more detail with a historian Indy Neidell (who has acted as historical figures in some of their music videos.)

Thanks. I've been checking the history channel out after I react to their videos.
Bismark by Sabaton is another good one to watch.
It’s on my channel somewhere. Reacted to it a few days ago. Go check it out.
U have a lot of Sabaton to Watch 😍
The cross stands here in belgium in ypres to be precise
I will put a pic of it later

@@dadwhatsfordinner "And the WINGED HUSSARS ARRIVED!"
The Great War was fu©king brutal.
the band is swedish and most their music is war related this song is a tribute to the truce that actually happened in ww1
The script for this was based on letters sent home by the participants, and the cross is still standing outside of Ypres, Belgium
Wow. Such an interesting story and piece of history
Yeah, I think the newest one went up in the 1990s, but I'm pretty sure there's always going to be a new one. Imagine landing the contract for the next replacement. That'd be an epic commission for any carpenter. Real simple thing to make. It will be seen by thousands every year.
This is a real Story of the WW1.
If you want to learn more of the histories that sabaton songs, go to their sabaton history channel. Next: no bullets fly and night witches (both Should be full animated versions).

Another not so pretty war related song is about Amarican veterans.
Check out Five Finger Death Punch, Wrong Side of Heaven
Check out Sabatons guitarplayer Tommy Johansson 👍He is Amazing 🥰
Joakim is the lead singers name
It is WW1 and it was spontaneous, the brass on both sides were very displeased.
Nightwish is a good band you should check out
Sabaton has been half-jokingly called "a bunch of Swedish history teachers who decided to form a metal band because they'd reach a wider audience".
It will definetly move you.
you should watch Sabaton History Christmas truce to learn the whole story.
Sweden,check out livgardet.
Hey! React to Tommy Johannson The joy of Christmas. He's the guitarist of Sabaton.
Mmm I would recommend dreadnoughts for your next one.
