Was 'Americas Strongest Man' Derek Poundstone stronger than '1998 World's Strongest Man'' Magnus Samuelsson of Sweden?

A very upper body dominant competition, still a fun one to watch!

Commentator: I don´t think he got the angle right.... proceeds to almost hit Samuelsson´s wife

i mean it does sort of seem like the events were tailored to benefit magnus but still incredibly impressive

Yeah! It was a bit silly. Felt bad for Poundstone. I am glad Derek won overall that year! Clearly it was rigged to fit Magnus. The same thing happened in 2001 and 2004 Grand Prix. Magnus winning both times in Sweden. However I think this was common and it was the same in other countries.

Good stuff! I'd love to know who else was in this contest. (heard Mitt, Skog and Marku, at least)

the first activity resembles how we commercial fish back home, we hand drive 900 feet of gillnet and fish and sea weed onto our 26 ft skiff against the wind and tide, everyday, after a good season you get a good pop-eye grip haha 😄

Why did they flip different tires? That’s BS because they were drastically different qualities of tire. Not to mention the treat on Poundstone’s tire had much better tread which adds more weight and more grip.
