Dear u have no idea how happy u have made me with this project. When I was a child my mother bought me 2 big needle 2 learn how 2 knit I was never able. I recently saw arm knitting and I also saw yer video, and I said " hey I think I can do that"... and behold I am doing it and I am so proud of myself.... Thank u so much I am happy my self-esteem is even higher. I never though a stranger could make me so happy!!!!!!
I have zero experience crocheting. This is the first tutorial I've found that I could follow. It took me 6 hours to complete this cowl and it looks perfect and identical to yours. Thank you!!!
You are a great YT instructor! I usually steer clear of vids longer than 5 mins. but yours captured and held my attention. I'm always looking for new, easy things to crochet. Thank you.
Wonderful!!! At last, a beautifully clear, precise and to-the-point video. I have never understood how to follow crochet from books - diagrams are just confusing to me, but this has given me the confidence to actually try to make the beautiful cowl shown here. A really great tutorial video, thank you so much, you are an amazing teacher :-) Please share more of your work!
hi, I'm from Italy!!!! I can't say how much I appreciated your tutorial... I watched and re-watched many many many many times.... and I finally completed my first puff stitch cowl crochet... I'm pretty proud, during the working a lot of people congratulated me on this cowl!!! for me, during the first view of the tutorial has been love at first sight... I'm quite sure that there could be several mistakes in my puff stitches and passages from a row to the next... but I think that the intention of a piece like this is that you can hide easily a mistake, because the result required is for the work to be "fluffy" and indeed puffy... I really really thank you!!!!
ps. my cowl was so appreciated, that the mother of my best friend bought yesterday some wool and asked me to make her another puff cowl!!! amazing!!! ahahah... thanks!!!
I made this last year & to this day, it is STILL my favorite piece! Got so many compliments, & requests to make some... I say all that to say thank you & keep up the amazing work!
Your teaching this puff stitch for the cowl is fabulous. You go slowly enough that we can follow along and daggone it if that music isn't addictive. Thanks so much!!!
This was my very first crochet project so I'm a complete beginner and I must say I've searched TH-cam for videos where I can actually learn and yours are BY FAR THE BEST!! Not only do you explain things so well but you are a joy to watch! My puff stitch cowl came out gorgeous! Please please keep up the videos! I would love if you could do a video on a blanket, baby booties, or a baby bonnet.
I have never crocheted before but I actually was able to make something that I can wear from watching your amazing video. You are such a good instructor. I absolutely love your cowl (my next one might look the same as yours or a little closer to yours). Excellent video. Thank you so very much.
Doesn't spend 10 min talking about herself but gets right to the point. She's precise and only speaks about the project at hand. Nothing worse then trying to learn something and the speaker gives u a 20 second direction and 2 min interview. Worth the watch
Totally agree! Really puts me off when they spend half an hour going on about what nail varnish shade they're wearing. Love how this is just straight to the point!
Just wish to say thank you for helping learn how to Crochet. It was so much nicer to be crocheting along with a buddy who clearly knows what they're doing. Your Puff stitch Cowl is gorgeous & i have made one, using the same super bulky yarn. Luv it! Thanks so much. Léna
I like the way she instruct the directions, she doesn't talk a lot like some others and she's very precise. I want to see more videos of her instructing patterns, she's really good.
You are truly amazing teacher, with such a soft, calm voice. Your repeated stitching through this tutorial is excellent, so we can really see how to do this -- you are by far the best teacher and awesome tutorial ever -- not to mention how awesome of a pattern/cowl this is. Thank you so much!!!
your video is just perfect !! you didn't try to be cutesy, and worked slow enough that I could actually see what you were doing. the close shot of your work as you were doing this really helped thank you ,you are the best at videos I've EVER seen. it really ticks me off when I'm watching a video and you can hear kids or noise in the background that's bad enough. but then they will begin to tell u what the noise is and all about there kids husband etc, like I DON'T GIVE A RIP!! stay with what your doing.!! so thank you a million times for an A+ video!!
I learned to crochet when I was in 3rd grade, I made dollies, hats, scarfs, pillows, baby blankets, etc. raising kids and working I just did not have time for hobbies any longer. Now the kids are all grown up, and I'm retired, I want to get back into my arts crafts, and designing my own clothes, although it's been years I still remember the basics,I came to this site for a refresher course so I can make a blanket, but I'm loving that cowl scarf you're making, I think I'll make that first, Thank you so much, you did a fantastic job,
Very good tutorial for visual learners, like myself!! What a beautiful cowl. I hope you will keep up the good work. Yes, I have subscribed to your lovely channel. Happy crocheting.
YOU are an AMAZING and FUN teacher!! I ran across your video by accident and fell in love with the puff stitch cowl. I think I'm hooked on your style of teaching, and the humor used. I will definately be a follower and scroll through all of your videos! God Bless!
I have never considered trying to crochet in my life, but after watching this video I think I will definitely have to give it a go! Your instructions are so clear and you make it look so easy!
You are a very good teacher. I wasn't intimidated by this at all. You made it look very easy. This will be my very first attempt at crocheting. Thanks a million! ;)
This is absolutely one of the best cowl patterns I have seen yet! So simple but looks like a designer piece. I can't wait to get started on my first one.....Guess what everyone is getting for the holidays? Never too soon to get started. THANK YOU,THANK YOU,THANK YOU.
I'm doing the 56-chain foundation, but using a size P (12mm) hook, and it's turning out perfectly!! I see that on the video, she's chaining very loosely and making her puffs extra-big (much larger than the hook girth) so the larger needle works great!
I just made mine ! I ABSOLUTLEY love it . Wish I could post a picture. You are an excellent teacher this was my very first time crocheting and I've always wanted to learn. Thanks . I'm super excited for more.
Once again a really easy explanation of what looks to be a very complicated cowl. I tried your other cowl and have made 2 since trying out your tutorial - Well done and thank you so much xx
Oh my gosh you are awesome. I crochet but I haven't in awhile and it was basic stuff like granny squares for a baby blanket, but your instructions are so clear I have no doubt I can do this thanks to you. Thank you very much. Guess what all my gal friends are getting for Christmas. Lol. I debated on mentioning this, but my opinion only is and I mean this with the utmost respect is the music you chose is cute and it was for about the 10th repeat. I would have liked if you had of kept the lower volume of the music the same throughout the video. I wanted to mute it but I didn't want to miss a word you said. Again just my opinion, either way I'm a fan and I'm subscribing right now. I don't want to miss any of your videos. Thanks again, I owe you one to two. Lol
I JUST learned to crochet in June. Only a basic chain stitch and my first actual piece was a cowl which was a double crochet over and over. So I wanted to make something different, I found your tutorial on TH-cam and already I am on my 3rd rd. of this cowl and it looks right and is lining up perfect. YOUR instructions are spot on, you explain very well and the the pace is great. I can't wait to watch some of your other tutorials to learn more designs. I am making this for my BFF and I am so happy with the results it looks like I won't have to do a practice piece! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I just made this. 😄 It feels great to wear something I made. I bought 4 64yard bundles, had enough to make a matching head band. Lol! I can't wait to wear it this winter. It's really heavy and bulky. Lol I love it! Thanks so much for this tutorial. I don't understand the 700 thumbs down. They fail in life. Lol Keep sharing, you're awesome. Warm regards, Sees
She is amazing, the best tutorial I have seen so far, easy to followed and well explained, at the end you have a beautiful masterpiece, would love to see all her tutorials , you are a great teacher, I hope to see your cat on other videos, adorable and cute, brought back memories of mine as I was growing up. Thank you so much, will continue watching and learning.
What a beautiful and detailed vid! You make me feel like I can certainly do this. I appreciate it because I am a visual person and books often just confuse me. Nicely done.
As a teacher, you are superb ! I admire the fact that you do not rush in your teaching. You slow down and explain point by point. For us, beginners, it is very important to get it right. Kudos to you and I will follow all your videos. You are lovely! Your voice is clear, melodious and it makes a big difference. Thanks a million.
I've never seen her websites but I found this one and I love the puff stitch cowl. The music is relaxing, as well as her voice, and she gives great detailed instructions. Her cat is too cute! Thanks for this project.
This is brilliant. I learnt to crochet when I was little. But I forgot how to do the "puff" stitch. My hands remembered the movement but the yarn didn't. Hahaha. This video you made is so clear. I can do it now. I had to stop at 5 mins to tell you thank-you, thank-you, thank-you for taking the time to do this. Yaaaaay. Australia.
You crochet by wrapping the yarn around the needle and I learned to use the hook to grab the yarn. Mesmerizing to watch how you do it. This cowl looks fab!! Probably a good gift for someone living in a colder climate than where I live.
My mom taught me to crochet when I was little, but I'm not very good. I'm going to attempt this. I love these instructions they were concise and easily demonstrated. Wish me luck.
This cowl is beautiful! I just finished making it with a different yarn, in a periwinkle blue, and it was very easy with your excellent instructions. The yarn that I used is a chenille so the tassels were a little more difficult than you made them look but it's beautiful! I'm going to get some of the yarn that you used to make another one and may make some for gifts. Thanks for sharing this, I'm going to check out your other videos!
ok, so im totally confused. i did it the equal amount of times like the video said (i think) around for each row which of course made it look like a long tube, kind of like the top of a turtle neck :/ which is cute to keep my neck warm iwth my jacket on but not like yours where it is tighter around the neck and kind of flows out like the bottom of a skirt. i wanted to be able to wear it to work like an accessory .lol. p.s. im totally new at this sooo plz dummify it for me :}
Faith mine came out like yours as well -- don't know what happened -- and I'm not that new at crocheting. I did 12 and it looks like the bottom of a flared skirt. Back to the drawing board.
Hey :) The first time I tried making this I was a beginner and mine came out the same way. Here are some helpful tips: 1. Practice with 10 chains until you think you have the hang of it. 2. Practice making your stitches loose, this is very difficult; you may think that you're making them loose and not realize until later that the stitches are too tight. 3. The yarn can't be stiff: the first time I made this I made the silly mistake of using Bernat Blanket which is wayyyy too stiff! Its gotta be a very limp yarn but also thick. I hope this helps c:
I absolutely love this. You did an amazing job explaining the steps and now I'm off to work on Christmas gifts for the daughter-in-laws and granddaughters. Thank you for sharing. Beautiful work!!!!
I really appreciate you taking your time explaing each step. I have been trying to find a video that isn't a partial explaination of this stitch. I cannot wait to use this stitch and make this cowl as well!
Wow! You are an amazing instructor! Your video came up when I was watching arm knitting and I was intrigued. I haven't held a crochet hook since middle school and you made me feel like I know what I'm doing! I just finished my cowl. It's not perfect, but I'm pretty darn impressed with myself. Thank you thank you thank you so much for sharing your hobby, your joy of doing it, and your cute cat. :)
A friend showed me this tutorial and I was soo afraid of trying this, but it was soo easy. Loooove it. Made mine in different shades of purple and gray! sooo in love. After being crocheting scarves to gift to my friend, this was the project I chose to make for myself and totally love it. Great tutorial!!!
This cowl turned out beautifully! I wear mine all the time! Thank you for the tutorial. NOTE TO VIEWERS: this project requires at least 4 skeins of yarn if you are using the same yarn she used, which is what I did. Happy crocheting (:
OMG..I cant I just cant this is so right up my alley...When I watch crochet videos I get so inspired with all the talent there is out there. So much so I begin to make things inspired by there design. However, this Cowl I would not change alter in any way OMG it is so simple yet so hip, classic,it is perfect. Such an awesome job at this project and great color choice and string. I cant wait to make my own and get showered with compliments ( which in general not my thing) but for this for sure I would not mind...thank you for sharing and I did subscribe. Keep Up The Good Work!
This was the 1st thing I ever crocheted almost 2 years ago. Didn't even know how till I watched this video. Loved this piece. & posted my piece on pinterest but linked your video to it so that others will want to make this. Thank you.
I'm already finish this cowl and I love it!!! Thank you for sharing your skills and for been so kind when you explain how to do it, please keep posting your videos!!!
Great job! Your explanation and instruccions are very understable. Thanks for your time. Always I want a cowl but I watched before were very complicated but your is easy to do. Congratulations!
Your videos are great and easy to understand. I have always been apprehensive about doing anything other than basic stitches, but I may try it after seeing this one! Thank you for sharing!
You are amazing! I love the way describe each step as well as showing it. I have watched almost all of your videos and I hope you come out with more soon!!!
I am trying to learn this art and I must say you are AMAZING. I have watched multiple videos. You work at the best speed and with the best lingo for teaching. Thank you so much, you are fabulous.
Love the way you teach! The florescent fingernails are a bonus its like a pointer stick to keep your eyes from wondering. It actually helped me see wear the hook and yarn were going. Just follow the fingernails. GOOD JOB!
I appreciate your helpful tutorials and enjoy how you make crochet easy also fun to learn! It didn't take a rocket scientist to know that more yarn was needed* Please ignore negative comments & keep the videos coming:)
I am just starting out,and you are an amazing teacher. You are the first video that really explained and showed slowly how to do it..Will be watching for more of your videos..
Love it, love it , love it !!!This is my first crochet project that I've just finished in purple ! Thank you for your awesome video and detailed instructions!
I really love this!!!!!!!! I got my purchases just now from the mailman so I am ready to begin... I always get confused when reading patterns and this is really awesome to know that you made a video to teach us how to do this wonderful cowl.!!!!!!!!!!
Loved this! I think I probably should have marked the chain two of each row because somewhere along the line I have a few funky connections, but I chose a multi-colored yarn so it's fairly hidden. I've been crocheting less than 30 days and am so happy to have found your instructional videos, which are excellent. I look forward to more.
Thank you for sharing this tutorial! I can't wait to get started on making a few of these. I made some slouchy hats using the puff stitch last fall and they turned out really nice.
This is so easy to follow, thank you. It's great to see a resurgence of these skills in younger ladies. I'm thinking of doing one of these on a big hook, with light coloured finer yarns mixed with a silver thread to make a gossamer evening scarf.
I made this scarf with your tutorial. It turned out great! I love how you can pull it tighter or wear it loose. Thanks so much for sharing this great cowl :)
Beautiful cat. I love you video. It is easy to understand the directions. I can't wait to make this cowl. I have make a pillow using the puff stitches and it was as easy as you show it to be. Thanks.

As a knitter this is the first crochet video that has ever made sense to me. Thank you for giving me hope that I could progress past a basic chain.
I have zero experience crocheting. This is the first tutorial I've found that I could follow. It took me 6 hours to complete this cowl and it looks perfect and identical to yours. Thank you!!!

hi, I'm from Italy!!!! I can't say how much I appreciated your tutorial... I watched and re-watched many many many many times.... and I finally completed my first puff stitch cowl crochet... I made this last year & to this day, it is STILL my favorite piece!
Got so many compliments, & requests to make some...

I made three for friends.
That's incredible! Good job. Did it take you about two hours each like she said? I love this look. I bet your friends loved them!!!
It took three hours cause my grandson kept demanding my attention, and my friends loved them. One of them suggested that I make them for sale. Lol.
I agree. she totally gets a like from me
This cowl is so awesome but so simple to crochet. Your teaching style is uplifting & kitty is beautiful too. Looking forward to your tutorials.
Beautiful scarf, wonderful tutorial. Makes me excited and daring enough to try this. thanks

You crochet by wrapping the yarn around the needle and I learned to use the hook to grab the yarn. Mesmerizing to watch how you do it.
This cowl looks fab!! Probably a good gift for someone living in a colder climate than where I live.
Made this for my 12 yo daughter. She loves it, and so do her friends. Thank you!
You are so refreshingly sweet and positive! Hope you have more tutorials and don't forget your kitty!
I made 4 of these last Christmas and everyone loves them so I am starting late but I am going to make a few
My mom taught me to crochet when I was little, but I'm not very good. I'm going to attempt this. I love these instructions they were concise and easily demonstrated. Wish me luck.
Does anyone have the written instructions for this gorgeous puffy cowl?

The cowl looks awesome. Thank you for sharing the step by step instructions. They were simple to follow and super fun to watch.
hola buen día.. seria genial, que lo transmitieran en español gracias...

ok, so im totally confused. i did it the equal amount of times like the video said (i think) around for each row which of course made it look like a long tube, kind of like the top of a turtle neck :/ which is cute to keep my neck warm iwth my jacket on but not like yours where it is tighter around the neck and kind of flows out like the bottom of a skirt. i wanted to be able to wear it to work like an accessory .lol.

Faith mine came out like yours as well -- don't know what happened -- and I'm not that new at crocheting. I did 12 and it looks like the bottom of a flared skirt. Back to the drawing board.
Hey :) The first time I tried making this I was a beginner and mine came out the same way. Here are some helpful tips:

I really appreciate you taking your time explaing each step. I have been trying to find a video that isn't a partial explaination of this stitch. I cannot wait to use this stitch and make this cowl as well!
background music became very annoying but other than that the tutorial was good thanks for sharing
I am very impressed with your videos, I learned a new stitch and loved the cowl. Thank you. Excellent work.
You are a very good instructor & very precise! Love this puffy cowl neck. Thank you so much for sharing.

By the way, do I have to tighten the stitches or stitch loosely?
This video is amazing and so easy to follow. I feel I have a better understanding of the crochet stitches . Thank you so so much! ❤
This is so easy to follow, thank you. It's great to see a resurgence of these skills in younger ladies. I'm thinking of doing one of these on a big hook, with light coloured finer yarns mixed with a silver thread to make a gossamer evening scarf.
Love love love your tutorials!! Halfway thru my cowl & its coming along beautifully. Thanks for your videos!
Thanks.
