Just came across her videos a few days ago. The recipes look good; even trying one tonight. HOWEVER in all the videos I have seen she NEVER says how long to cook in the crockpot, not even a range. That is a major item that would really improve her videos making them more usable.

I went to the store to buy the ingredients. The minute rice comes in two box sizes. The jars of picante come in two sizes as well - both looked like the ones you used. I came back, paused the vid, got the rice box size but can't make out the picante. I got the medium size, will see how it goes. Please don't assume we know how big a "box" or a "jar" is because there's multiple options that look the same as what's used in the video but could be half as much - or twice as much. Trying it tomorrow, will see how it goes. Think it'll be delish.

This is a total struggle meal. I made this dish because my husband thought it would be good. It yields enough to feed both our family and the neighbor's family. I followed the same ingredients, but unfortunately, it turned out bland. If you decide to make this, I recommend adding another bottle of salsa for more flavor.

Coming from a family of 12 sometimes cheap foods thrown together in a big pot and left to do it's thing is more economical and quicker than trying to cook over a stove top, chopping the veggies, pre-cooking the rice and meats and baking in the oven. If you want more intensive, gourmet foods go watch Ina Gartner. You go girl.
Justine i have to take exception with your comment that this is a home cooked meal. It is a bunch of preprepared food dumped in a crock pit and warmed for hours. Lots if calories but very little nutrition. If it is going to be in the crock pot for that long, why not start with onion, tomato and green pepper with herbs and spices. At least then you have fewer preservatives and sodium that come in preprepared salsa. Why not slow cook it on the stove top and then add cheese at the end and warm under a broiler to brown the cheese. All of these would be very easy improvements. Cooking on a stove top would take way less time and give you better results
She's trying to not heat up a house during a summer day for quick meal I use my crockpot so much more then I do my oven less mess and and doesn't heat up my entire house
People who work full time jobs don't have time to cook a healthy meal everyday. If you have that kind of time good for you. Guess you never eat fast food.
Number one cause of death (over cancer) in USA is Heart Disease, caused by build up of plaque and cholesterol in Arteries, almost always associated with processed and high fat (trans/saturate fats). I don't think she's eating what she cooks as she's awfully thin. But, it is entertaining watching her, especially the part where she smoothes out the rice, before dumping chopped up pieces of highly processed sausage, full of fat and chemicals. Delicate!

Looks good, but the only vegetable in there is the rice, tomatoes, onions, and peppers that are in the salsa. If I were to try making this myself, I'd add a couple of other veggies. Maybe a can of diced tomatoes and something green like peas or green beans. Definitely more onion and garlic. Meat, rice, and salsa just isn't enough nutrition. Just sayin, think about it.🖖😎👍

You're still supposed to Brown them a little bit on the stove before adding them into any dish that you're making. Take a hot dog for example. It is fully cooked but people still put it on the grill or they boil them or they put them in a pan or the air fryer and cook them before they put them on their bun.

May I suggest you rinse the rice in cold water before adding it into the slow cooker or any pan as processed rice can contain contaminants such as mice deification, insects, dust & soil from processing the rice from the rice hull !
