- After learning Linus changes his appearance to an unseen younger version of himself at weddings, I decided to see who else would change and what they would change into. I went through every possible spouse including some you can only marry with mods. Stardew Valley gameplay with my commentary as always!
I like how the NPC’s face away from DF when they glitch.
*Even their alternate selves regret the marriage.*

I like that fan idea that Linus was the CEO of JoJa Corp. and willingly gave up his life of luxury and the 6 figure salary accompanying it once he realized what his company had grown to become. It's very fitting. I've heard of real world people doing this before. Giving up their high tech corporate lifestyle to live in the woods as a hermit.

9:09 that's from Shane's 7 heart event. He's filming an ad for Joja with Clint and Emily. But surprise surprise Clint forgets his lines because Emily is too distracting. You need to have Clint and Emily at 3 hearts for this to trigger though
he has more than 200 hours in the game, and has married and divorced about 4000 times, im sure he knows that.
@@CLKiscool There's a lot of stuff about this game that DF doesn't know, despite his play time. There are people with 1/8 the play time as him that know more about the game.

That cutscene freaked me out. My character is named "Bluu" in the game, so I thought "huh, weird that it uses your name for the name of the soda" then I watched someone else view the cutscene and went "wait.... oh my god."

Linus is actually a time traveller and is Morris 40 years after you arrive in Stardew Valley. Having realized the error of his ways, he lost his mind, went back in time, and started living off the land, having forsaken all forms of corporate greed and materialism as an example to the player character that inspired them.
That's actually a pretty legitimate theory and entirely possible since there is magic in Stardew Valley. I like it!

I just came to the realization that because of this polygamy mod, he's not technically married to anyone in the sense that the game recognizes it. I know this to be true because there is no spousal room showing up and because the game doesn't recognize he's married, he can't divorce anyone. On the bright side, because the game doesn't recognize he's married, I believe there's no chance of having/adopting children. I guess you win some, you lose some.
EDIT: Maybe he can use the memory shrine to erase the memory of everyone in town and thus, they will forget about being unofficially married to him and return to their boring one dimensional lives. I'd try that DF, if you're reading this.

I like to think that the other form of Linus is from an unused heart event where he opens up to the play and tells them about his decent into homelessness and how it happened, and that there was a cutscene using that model.

The changed appearance of Linus looks a lot like ConcernedApe, the creator of the game.
It might be an Easter egg or something, but it's not likely as marrying Linus was never supposed to happen.

Since you’re asking for theories, I thought I’d bring my theory up again.
THE WIZARD AND MARNIE ARE JAS’S PARENTS.
I’ll explain. The secret note reveals that Jas was raised (and possibly born) on the ranch. Maybe she wasn’t brought there after her parents died, which is what the player is supposed to believe.
So what does that mean for her parents? She has purple hair. Abigail has purple hair. the wizard has purple hair. the wizard is Abigail’s father. the wizard also lives in a tower near Marnie’s ranch.
It’s my conclusion that Jas’s parents didn’t die. She, along with the rest of the town, have been lied to this whole time.
Jas’s parents are Marnie and the wizard.
There is a picture of Jas's mom though, and the timeline dosn't fit between when she died, and her change in appearance to what would have to be Marnie. People brought this up in another video of his when he showed off that picture.

In my game, when Linus was digging in the trash (with George thinking it was raccoons) I saw the same appearance of Linus being younger and well kept
I love how even when the idea doesn't work, DF is able to make the video worth watching haha!
What if Linus was a successful business man (the unused one looks like in a suit) and he went bankrupt or got amnesia and became homeless, if the business man one he would probably tell you and story that turns into a flashback. And if the amnesia Harvey would see medical record and would try to get to remember his old life, were you would see a flashback of like a car crash, or some kind of other major accident that would've given him amnesia.

Lmao it’s a game, you’re being too tense over it. Jas and Vincent probably don’t have many heart events so it could be a way to find an interesting alternate appearance. While I also don’t want to see a grown man marrying a child in a realistic scenario, this is a game and there are sicker people out there than the above commenter (or DF) who actually would like to see that in real life. ^^;

linus was the mayor of zuzu city. then thugs broke into the city bank and framed it on linus. then, he realized he was not cut out for it anyway. he was fired, lost his husband (because hes gay) and moved from zuzu into stardew valley

You CAN alter the NPC's relationships in the CJB cheats menu without meeting them. Just click on whatever heart level you want them to have, and the game acts as if you met them.

I think that lineus changed so much because he changed into he clothes like the other mpcs, but he just changed into a version he wasn’t supposed to.
On the wiki for the Joja mart it talks about how Joja is owned by the players previous employer so following the theory Linus worked for or owned Joja us or our grandfather could’ve had something to do with Linus moving into the tent?
The wizard’s Sprite actually changes to the sprite he uses when he warps over to the community center. Thought that was interesting

i'm not sure if you've seen yet, but, you can put mayor lewis's underwear into the sewing machine and wear them, you can also put them in the pot luck. and sometimes robin also has the "lew? oh..." dialogue now

I have a theory
Linus did something bad to the wizard, so the wizard cast a spell on him, which made it so then he thought the wizard was his friend, and so then he would live in solitude, away from everyone.
This looks more like a frame selection error.

A lot of sprites werent from heart events, they were just static sprites. The wedding calls up a sprite from the files. The characters beta sprites have to be in the correct position in the files to be able to call on them.
Hi DF! I noticed with people you marry, each morning they give you different things for breakfast... Like Sebastian just gives you coffees, Sam just makes 'instant pancakes' and penny cooks different meals. Unsure what others do because I didn't pay much attention (Besides those 3), but maybe a video idea :D which partner you can make the most money from, or which is most useful lol

Linus’s whole story is that he was born rich and sold his money to charity so he could live out his dreams of being an animal. He also loves to travel. That’s what he spent some of his money on. The heart event could have been an earlier version of Linus explaining it to us, but they decided to cut back on the flashbacks
That form is actually from leah's art show in pelican town. He is one of the people watching edit": scrap that I think it's actually from the stardew valley fair. Nevermind, My final theory is that linus is the man reading the newspaper on the unused bus intro scene

You know what I’ve always wondered? When you first start a farm, and the mayor greets you, it’s spring. But then when you wake up the next day it’s the first of spring. How does that work?
I think Linus was a boy scout and he liked camping so much that he decided to do it for life, not in the wilderness per se, but next to Pelican Town so he could steal from garbage cans if he was desperate.
Considering his greenish clothing he was probably a Venturer.
Meanwhile I just completed Year 4 and I have every achievement except Museum. I see what you meant about the dino egg being hard to find... I still need the ancient sword and skeletal hand. How lame. I found about 26 mountain worms, 22 forest worms, and 68 fishing chests since starting the hunt for the sword. No dice, but that's not surprising since, according to my calculations, all of it together only gave me a 45% chance of getting at least one. Stupid 1% RNG.
In case you're wondering, the odds of getting a dino egg from a fishing chest are nine in five thousand. But somehow I got 3 of those and no ancient sword. The structure of artifact finding is my least favorite part of the game, not to mention that it doesn't make sense. I think it should be more likely to find artifacts you've never found than ones you've already found.

With the cheats menu you don’t actually have to meet them you can just click them in the menu and boom you met them
