notice from about 25:00 onwards they are talking about strict Ketogenic Diet. Not just about adding coconut oil or MCT oil to any kind of diet. Ketogenic Diet = Very Low Carbohydrate / High Saturated Fats, so that the brain stops being able to run on glucose and instead uses ketones for fuel. The body metabolizes the carbohydrate that we eat into glucose.

Thank you both for this information. My mother passed away in 2005 from early onset Alzheimer's. She was 69 and we started noticing it about 7 years prior. She loved carbs and some junk food and soft drinks, but also cooked pretty healthy from her garden. She was diagnosed with Tularemia from a tick bite in her early sixties and had very strong intravenous antibiotics to treat that. She also took Premarin for at least 15 years. She was a vibrant, energetic, beautiful lady. Her physical body was healthy, but her brain wasn't. I think it was just a cocktail for Alzheimer's and I am trying to eat the right way to better my chances of not getting it. Thank you, Dr. Perlmutter, for all your videos, books, and work you do for this horrible disease!

The Alzheimers Assoc. should be all over this. I am appalled by the lack of knowledge that exists for treatment of these diseases when people like Mary have offered their findings.

The corrupt FDA together with their pals, big pharma, do NOT want natural cures for any disease/ailments! They want patented poison called pharmaceutical drugs!
THEIR AIM IS TO MAKE TONS OF MONEY OUT OF SICKNESS & MISERY!!!!

people are so used to taking a pill so we are not used to actually watching our own health ! it is more pleasant to eat quick food like sugar and flour food. There is not any doctor knocking at her door trying to get this information!

It's all about money. The medical profession can't make money on MCT oil.

What about diabetics with Alzheimers? Is there a version or level of ketones that are helpful?

  • @AI-vs7sm
    @AI-vs7sm ปีที่แล้ว

I know several people in my church with Alzheimers, and have tried to make them aware of this info! To my surprise, I just noted that this video is seven years old! Guess big meds doesn't want people to know these things! Dr P mentioned something that I don't think is being emphasized enough about low carb/ keto; THAT 80% FAT THAT THEY TELL YOU TO USE IS SUPPOSED TO BE YOUR OWN FAT!!!! Not so much dietary fat ,except to get fat adapted. This is info that low carb influencers ARE NOT GETTING ACROSS. Dr Nadir Ali has a recent video about this, if you are obese or near it, you should fast initially to jump start the weight loss! Otherwise, lipotoxicity will result!

Thank you so much for the video. No puedo seguir la dieta ketone. I had the colon removed 15 years ago because I had tons of polypes. I w.as able to maintain my weight the first 12 years. Unfortunately died of cancer 3 years. I began to have had huge of memoria but I nanaged to take care of her at home until 2 days short passing away in a paliative unit.
she was a nursing professor at the university and head nurse in an university hospital. I made a mistake after her death. That was in April/May. There was a covid shut down and I went back to work. I began loosing weight without being aware of it. I rode back across the country without any issue. I noticed that I lost weight like 3 months after I began to work. I bought a leather motorcycle suit before crossing the country. It was almost a workout to fit in.
I stoped to use the suite because it was tight which made it too warm. I had many cooler options which could protect me as well, but much more breathable. So it was perfect. So when the cool down that I noticed that I lost 20 lbs. I was never able to gain back the weight I lost. Unfortunately I lost another 10 lbs in the past 6 to 12 months. Now I understand that I lost weight because my brain was degenerating. I had an issue with my memory before my wife passing away. My wife told me to make my will. I was struggling but I was obsessing on my wife needs. Nothing could distrack me from my duty.
I did't loose any weight for many years because I was eating 3 bagels for breakfeast and sometimes more because each one 8 grams of fiber and that helped me avoiding diaria. What I was not aware of was that each bagel 45 grams of carbonhydrate. 135 grams, substract the 24 grams of fiber. Four grams of carbonhydrate equals a teaspoon of sugar. For breakbast alone I was consuming over 25 teaspoons sugar

I had a scaner 2 weeks ago. The scan revealed that my brain was disformed that I might fall into a coma, suffering demancia, or die any time.
6 months ago my older brother had a stroke, that lead me to instlantly cut the bagel and all cereal products . I began a plant diet. I got my proteins from flaxseeds, hemp seeds, basil smeeds, allulose, enuline, psyllium, fatty fishes algea, leafy greens and nuts. I put a lor emphasis on, 100 grams macadamia nuts and walking suggested by DR Steven Gundry, and also a few other nutswalnuts,I got a scale a few days ago. I had an indicated 105 pounds. a drop of 10 pounds lower than at the end of April. I was sure that my weight droped since then, but the scale tells me that I gained 1,2 lbs. I use a slow juice extractor, then mix the fiber and the extracted liquid with flaxseeds, hemp seeds, allulose, enulin, and spyllium
Yesterday I took 10 tbspoon of coconut oil and c8 MTC oil is on its way, I had no problem with diaria. I had only 3 poo a day instead of 5 to 8. Things have turned around, or not, to soon to say, my memory works way better. Before I could take up to 2 hours messing all the kitchen. Now it takes 30 minutes with very little mess. If you struggle with diaria introduce slowly more fiber that can be mixed with what is extracted from the juicer good luck

From what I understand from other interviews her husband just added coconut oil/ MCT oil to his diet. MCT also come in a powder now. Make salad dressing with coconut oil.

the reason why the hospital didn't like what happened to your family because they realized that you are the real doctor, not them. and they didn't like it.
i would just go ahead keep on doing what you have been doing since it seems to be working 4 you guys.
these people in the vid may not be able to give you any medical advice due to the license matter, but this is 2 cents to you from a person lives in the country of the fastest growing number of dementia patients in the whole world.

    • @jehoover3009

The whole food par might indicate a high carb (ie starch & sugars) component. Theses guys would perhaps advise a Keto genocide diet to go with your coconut oil and MCT oil. Also it’s possible to get exogenous Ketones now ( sometimes refereed to as BHB or β-hydroxybutyrate salts)

    • @jehoover3009

Sorry the autocorrect seems to have altered my typing! I meant to say “the whole food part” and they would probably advocate low carb/sugar “ a Ketogenic diet...”

It's methanol poisoning . Make sure you all ways eat fresh . Raw or lightly steamed. And fresh squeezed juices only . Methanol is bond to pectin . By law of nature. Pectin is the structure of the plant.
