    1) Hannibal is ABOUT to tell Clarice what she needs to know, but then the Doctor enter the room and Hannibal knows it before anyone else does.... and he WON'T tell the information in front of him... and so the expressions that cross his face in those milliseconds, because he is upset he can't make good on his promise to Clarice and his hatred for the doctor... and his hate that he is breaking his promise BECAUSE the doctor showed up..... and then he goes cold on Clarice. AMAZING acting.

    The Silence of the Lambs is one of the most perfectly paced, perfectly acted movies ever made. I don't even think Hopkins or Foster could reprise those performances. @ninjadog9346 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Jeckxdeel I don't necessarily mean the length of the film when I say pacing. I am referring to how each scene flows perfectly into the next scene.
      For example, when the geeks discover the Death's Head Moth in its cocoon, and they remark how someone loved and nurtured it, then the movie cuts to a moth flying around Buffalo Bill's terrifying lair. That is story telling perfection right there.

      @DJGamingSmash 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Guess I'm shunned. Only liked the two performances between Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins, but the main focus wasn't on them, just on this boring Buffalo Bill character. I didn't find it intense or scary, but all the other ones I did find one or the other. He does truly make a great first impression with so little screen time, but the rest of the film didn't hold up for me. I'm good without watching people stuck in holes and dancing naked people, but I don't find it tense or scary or particularly interesting. These movies are only as strong as the villains that accompanying Hannibal Lecter, that's why Red Dragon and the Hannibal tv show are my favorite, but the Hannibal movie was pretty good too, though it had confusing morality that sided with serial killers far too often. Ralph Fiennes is actually the standout of this franchise in my opinion, which I know is an unpopular opinion, but it's emotionally effective and psychologically fascinating to see a mentally handicapped serial killer.

      DJGamingSmash the Hannibal movie was doghshit, brother. I love Red Dragon & will defend it ceaselessly, but they made Anthony Hopkins’s portrayal of the character borderline comical in Hannibal. The filmmaking is flashy in all the wrong ways, every bit of violence is telegraphed from a mile away, & it’s like they completely forgot that shadow exist, & exist to the filmmakers’s benefit. Even as a kid, I thought it was hilarious (especially the end...seeing Ray Liotta happily eating his own brain cracks me the fuck up)

Its laser focused and its the kind of thing that makes you feel 1" tall when you are talking to him. At the same time, he's got this smile on his face that kind of says, "I know more about everything than you do, and that's hilarious..." He lets you know that compared to intelligence, everything you think and say is a joke.
