i just got into the sais and have been watching videos. some people say you should turn your hands parallel to the body when you chamber your hands to not get poked by the secondary prongs on the sais. i noticed you dont do that. is it not necessary?
@@nickfry7839 You're welcome! Actually, sai can be diagonal to avoid getting poked but shouldn't be parallel. If you know Karate, my style is better for you👍 Thank you so much for watching!!!
Hello. I was considering buying a pair of Sais and trying to train with TH-cam videos like this. But I am afraid that I might accidentally hurt myself. I have seen there are also plastic "practice Sais" (same size, same shape). Do you think I could begin with practice Sais? Or do you think their difference in weight will just be too different to be the equivalent of real Sais??
Thank you so much for watching! I recommend you to begin with real Sais if you are an adult because weight is totally different. I think you don’t have to worry about hurting yourself so much. Hope my answer helps you.
@@KohjiKatoh How can I find out the laws of if a Sai is legal in New York City? In other words: If I know of a store that sells Sais, can I buy them and then carry them around on the street? If I own a pair of Sais, is it legal to take them to a New York City park and then practice swinging them around in in the park?
@@johnvem949 I don’t know about the rules in NY, because I live in Japan. Even in my country, it’s illegal to bring Sai on the street. We have to put them in the bag.
The sai is not properly chambered. Nice stance work, good form, but the sai is improperly chambered which reveals the shortcomings of this practitioner. Serious martial artist will know what I'm talking about.

Hlo I have a pair of chrome sai 22 inches and they're extremely heavy and the blade is very thick. How can make it usable?
In the first warm up, are you working on strengthening your wrist more than your whole arm?
Yes, that’s for strengthening my wrist.
Thank you so much for asking
@@KohjiKatoh but in theory, if you wanted to hit someone with a sai, you would never hit them by bending your wrist. right?
Nice stuff man!! Do you also teach intermediate and advanced techniques for at home too?
Yes. Lesson #2
Stop stabbing self while retracting.
Ancient Chinese secret
Sir do you also know how to use Jutte? If so can you make a video about it? thank you
This Channel is amazing
Thank you so much for watching!
I'll try to upload videos constantly.
hi, how much should a sai cost on average ??? P.S can you suggest some good sai shops???
You can get a cheap pair for about 30-50 USD. I would recommend Kamikazi sai. They're about 150-200 USD
Can you do a video about the kuwa.
Unfortunately, my style doesn't have the Kuwa.
That's ok.do you have any bo self defense techniques videos, anything would be appreciated thanks.

It depends on the style.
In my style, it is said that Sais shouldn't be parallel to the body.
This is a difference in the way of thinking:)
thank you! i know in karate empty hand, its the way you do it and it feels better!

Just curious, I'm just wondering what the difference is between Shotokan and Okinawan Karate?
There are many differences between them.
I think the most different thing is how to use the body.
where yo find proper sai in my size and of proper quality?
Thank you for sharing, but are you aware that your Sai blocks and punches are all wrong?

Are those Shureido sai? And if so, what size are they?
Yes, I use Shureido sai and size is L👍
Thank you
I have a pair of Shureido size M. But they are a little small. And can’t find a size L. Would you recommend kamikaze sai ?
