Carp Fishing with Steve Briggs at Iktus Lake

Steve Briggs visits Iktus Lake at Christmas in search of some of it's huge carp. The trip starts off with a sturgeon, then a few small carp stalked on corn before ending on a high with a couple of the lakes beautiful big carp.

Lovin the fish rescue! Had a similar experience with a mirror in a drainage ditch on Big Moor, Sandbach Cheshire when i was a kid. Got no end of wind ups off the other lads as they 'observed fish activity' in puddles etc whenever i was about, still returned the fish to the main lake,happy days

Brilliant video again Steve!! Just watched it with a nice mug of tea and snow outside.
It was lovely to see the pleasure you got from stalking those smaller carp! You are definitely not a "big fish at all costs" angler, which is probably why you are so liked and respected!

Steve, when your feeling for a firmer spot are you not worried about turning over the hook point or picking up some debris?
Also when your getting the rod back on the spot did you repeat the same process? I.e dragging the lead back feeling for the hard patch?

It only happens really when the hook actually catches something like a branch otherwise I'm lifting the lead up and down rather than dragging it. Unless I do hook something there is virtually no damage to the hook point. I do repeat the process every time but after finding the spot I know more or less where I need to be so it can be done fairly quickly most times. Thanks for watching glad you enjoyed it.

I disagree with your comment saying its up and coming....the bailiffs were the worst I've ever seen, and we're about as helpful and as much use as a chocolate fire guard! They had double booked the swim I reserved and didn't give a shit that this had happened! The cabins were unsafe and not secure, and not one single apology from anybody on site! They didn't even offer any sort of refund or anything!! As far as I am concerned I hope they go under!
