If you cut Scarecrone for anything, throw in Grand Architect, gives you an infinite mana engine with Pili Pala and helps pay for all your activated abilities
This is actually one of my friends decks! It is scary for me as I like to set up my whole board to be protected and resilient, in decks like Zur (voltron), Memnarch, and Skittles, so that just leaves my land base to be attacked if I'm looking like the biggest threat.
No 1 commented on the mathematics for Rites of Replication on Reaper King??? 30 triggers (assuming all 6 pieces get that short window to co-exist on battlefield), not 25
I've been watching alot of videos about this, i was thinking adding some extra turn cards to this and some cards like defense grid to just keep our opponents off of our plans. Also possibly a scuttling doom engine to just add some extra firepower
I'll definitely be building a more streamlined version of this deck for myself. The tribal aspect is amazing very far out of left field. Not many people expect decks like this anymore.
I Bought a Reaper King , along with every scarecrow aside from Scarecrone (She is pricey) AND matching sleeves to build a Scarecrow edh. That was over 3 years ago and my scarecrows have been sitting in my binder. Now with the Tribal support from Commander 2017 (And ixalan), along with this helpful video, im going to try and put it back together. Thank You! P.S i HATE HATE HATE Cyclonic rift. I own one but dont play it. I think its super cheap and a bogus card that does WAY to much for so little.
trudavy I respect your opinion. But I have to completely disagree with you. Near every deck I play against on EDH can ramp up to 7 no problem, even some mono colored decks. The fact that for 7 mana, at instant speed mind you, you can bounce every single thing your opponents have spent the game laying out, and then proceed to take a game winning turn is ridiculous, unfun, and unfair. However, most people would agree with you. My group doesnt mind cyclonic rift that much so its mostly just me that hates it. But ive never heard an argument that validates cyclonic rift as a fair card.
Logan Matthews eh, don't see what's unfun or unfair, holding that mana open usually makes it an obvious possibility, all about planning for it or around it. Just as fair as Evacuation, Fated Retribution or Nev's Disc imo. It's really easy to rebuild a board in EDH. Seems like an issue because it's a blue staple
trudavy I have no problem against blue. Run plenty of blue myself. But it definitely isn't as fair as evacuation or disk. That hits your stuff too. FAR easier to win a game by bouncing everything on the board except your stuff than it is to rebuild after a disk. If it just hit creatures that would be one thing. If it was just a sorcery, then fine. The card has way to much power. Everytime its played, in my experience, one of two things happen: the player who plays it wins, or they just slow the game way down and it becomes a race to rebuild which means it ultimately did nothing but stall. Remember these are just my opinions. I'm not saying your wrong, but I hold to the notion this card is broken because of my experience in seeing it played plenty of times.
I hoped so much for them to print more scarecrows in SOI and ELD >.< ...and I am still so mad that I traded away my german, foil copy of Reaper King at school for a bunch other rares and uncommons back then...did not know EDH and that it would become my favorite format!
This has a lot of cards in one of my personal favorite 5-color commanders: General Tazri. Nobody expects her during roll call lol. Kindred Charge is also hilarious in that deck. She's a pretty cheap build as well.
Do changelings count as Scarecrows for deck construction as well? I only ask because the Tribal guidelines say that 1/3 of the deck has to match the exact creature type. Or do people use "Tribal" as an umbrella term?
I did changlings for mine with tribal synergy from the best lords in the game. Reaper King is my removal but I've killed more people with a coat and flying changelings. The only "actual" scarecrow I use is scarecrone because its a sac outlet that is card draw and if they kill Reaper King I can get him back with it. Also getting all the champion changlings is destroy everything but it takes some work to get, Sarkhan Unbroken or OG Nissa (which I don't run as Sarkhan is better) helps with that. Myr Reservoir allows for some neat recycling of changlings/crib swap, Vanquisher's Banner is another Kindred Discovery, Strionic Resonator at worse is copying one reaper king trigger but at best is copying blade of selves' trigger. Here's my list, it's a blast to play even if Reaper King gets hated off the board the changlings can put in some work. tappedout.net/mtg-decks/tribal-changling/
Helm of the Host would he hilarious since you get more non legendary Reaper Kings at beginning of combat. More etb, more destruction, more fun
A tip : watch series on Flixzone. I've been using it for watching all kinds of movies recently.
@Ernest Kairo yea, been watching on flixzone} for since december myself =)
@Ernest Kairo yea, have been watching on Flixzone} for months myself :)
@Ernest Kairo yup, I've been watching on flixzone} for years myself =)

LOL that is one of my win cons for Breya:p
I played this deck and when he mentioned cutting Pilli-Pala I was shocked. But I suppose if you are not running Grand Architect....
In this (Read: gross understatement - not particularly strong) Tribal deck, how is Scarecrone early in the line of the to-cut list???
0:23 he does! And thats why we love him
This is awesome. I’ve been wanting to make a deck with him at the helm. I have four of him yet never had the chance to build him.
He’s like a tier 2 commander he’s really good
the amount of times this man says mana in the first 8 seconds blows my mind
Reaper King's Art belongs on an Iron Maiden album cover
Cannibal corpse?

30? The original RK sees all 5 copies entering, and the copies each see the other 4. That's 20 from the tokens and 5 from the base.
...my bad math. Yea, 25
@@simoncss1 Haha. No problem. I've run this before.
Scarecrow plus slivers plus conspiracy equals complete and total chaos.
If I don't have enough scarecrow could I put in changlings and shapeshitfers
Mirror March and Minion Reflector are pretty fun too
Pilla palla and grand architect?
I would love to see how this plays and im thinking it will draw some hate; did you not find room for [[Mirrorworks]]?
I love using rite of replication on reaper King, so many activations even though you don't keep the copies

7 mana for a one sided bounce isn't that cheap. Seems way more efficient than Evacuation but 7 even in EDH isn't cheap. Perfectly fair

Logan Matthews fair, I only disagree because it's one of the few wipes blue can manage, glad it has a solid panic button besides counter everything

Put Mirror Gallery in the deck and you can keep multiplying Reaper King himself
Can you post a deck list in comments plz
Helm of the Host seems fun with this deck.

Neat deck, maybe Descendants' Path over Call to the Kindred, Call is good but does open you up to getting 2 for 1'd
Shapesharer is really good because it says ANY shapeshifter. So all he can turn other guys into stuff
Urza's Incubator could allow you to cast it for 4
Do changelings count as Scarecrows for deck construction as well? I only ask because the Tribal guidelines say that 1/3 of the deck has to match the exact creature type. Or do people use "Tribal" as an umbrella term?
What's about Rush for Knowledge?
Even only drawin 3-4 Cards for 5 Mana is still ok. But With Reaper King out drawing 10 Cards is amazing!! :)
no one-eyed scarecrow?
dont alot of these copy cards get affected by legendary rule
Lol, any tips for tasigur edh? Thanks
Nvm that question got further into video and you answered my question
What about soul foundry? keep making those crows
Familie Keeris could run the thopter assembly combo as well with conspiracy or archane adaptation
You only need Grand Architect to go infinite mana with Pili-Pala...

I love your interesting take on the reaper king
Gotta keep getting first!
You could play arcane adaptation
David Gold and conspiracy. Same thing but black
I was literally just thinking about this guy XD I'm just not happy with scarecrows or changelings as a whole...
You can't use Blade of Selves on legendary creatures. When the token copies come in, all but one of your choice will die.
Still get the etb
They don't need to stay. The fact that you get 3 (assuming the normal 4way ffa commander game) reaper king trigger per turn garenteed is amazing
Could you stop using stupidly expensive cards? Thanks
Can you stop complaining and get a job? Thanks
@@svfutbol20 dude maybe he doesn't even have the age to get a job calm down
