As a complement to this one, you might enjoy GeekAcademy’s recent video on these elevator scenes. Ben Stiller said that somebody would match these scenes up. And what geek Academy did was slightly different than - although similar to - what you did because he measured the amount of time it typically takes for the elevator. Turns out it’s 20 seconds. And if you watch them side-by-side, Dylan comes out after exactly 20 seconds, and then Irv comes out after exactly 20 seconds, and then Helly/Helena(?) comes out after exactly… Drumroll… 17 seconds! They didn’t need the extra time for the switcheroo machine?
Great catch! Yes, you’re absolutely correct! I also caught the difference in timing and also assumed that it was because Helena didn’t need the extra time to “adjust”. The chime is also a great addition just to be the cherry on top for the whole switcharoo machine haha. With this newly discovered observations, now I’m hoping that we get the chance to see who else is severed/unsevered given the mystery behind some of the characters that walk the Severed floor.
@@Duriboh I agree the bulk of the evidence leans to Helena. The only one that doesn’t (possibly just a misdirection) is the way she comes off the elevator the first day back. That’s consistent with Helly’s last memory being getting pushed offstage. And it’s not clear that Helena would have exited that way.
@@AlsoSal I hear your point and I know where you're coming from, BUT that very same reaction that you're referring to is one of the many reasons that I believe it's actually Helena and not Helly, here's why. If you check Episode 5, minute 19:34 ~ you would see that Helly arrives in the elevator in a sitting position. That's because we last saw her, she was in a state of shock from what happened earlier. So I would argue that the perfect reaction to getting tackled/pushed off a stage would be to arrive in a sitting down position that demonstrates shock in a shape or form. Which we've seen that the innies are absolutely capable of doing from past experiences. So for her to be so energetic and saying that outside felt "Crazy" when Mark brings it up is just a flaw and inconsistency of what Helena is showing as she later describes outside as "being inside a *boring* apartment". I still think you're onto something here, but there are also some other clues in the episode 3 as well that I suggest you check them out ~ I just posted a video going through all of them.
@@Duriboh I’m not sure what scene you meant with the elevator. You said episode 5? So I checked ep 5 from season one but nothing with the elevator at 19:34. Couldn’t find what you meant in the new season. But yeah I’m almost certain it’s Helena just not convinced about that one element.
@ On my end around 19:34 of Season 1 Episode 5, is where Helly comes back to the severed floor after her heartbreaking attempt (TH-cam is sensitive to certain words, I hope this makes sense). It might be a problem on my end, so I apologize ~ but the first time that she comes back with bruises on her neck is when Mark meets her by the elevator and she's in a sitting down position while being in shock that she's still alive. However all your doubts are completely valid, I can still see signs of Helly as well, which I'm assuming is where the complexity of these characters and the show in general comes in.
Although you know… I’m pretty much on the “it’s actually Helena not Helly” train on the inside in these first couple episodes. There’s just a lot of suggestions that it is. But the fact that she is rushing out of the elevator suggests that it’s Helly. Because the last thing she remembers is being pushed off stage when she was trying to be a whistleblower. If it were actually Helena, would she be rushing? I mean, maybe they know enough about things to tell her, look you need to look like you were just on the outside ratting out lumen. But they apparently didn’t know enough to get her to tell a convincing story about what she saw on the outside instead of a story about a night gardener. Hmm. That is a bit puzzling.

One of the trailer also shows a flashback of she saying “don’t want to go down there” in the meeting room upstairs. So that’s probably not Helly
