you are an insult to the world of conducting. You should be ashamed even just the idea of imitating, moreover very malleable, the conductor as Karajan's caliber. In the end, your imitation is very well equipped with your way of imitating. Shame on you.
lol
his video is hilarious.
come on, stop being salty and get a good laugh, sounds like you need that.
It's because of people like you that the world has this notion that classical music is elitist, snobbish and inaccessible
Hahahaha
@Philipp S. The fact that he/she is so humourless, and thinks that being an esteemed conductor makes one exempt from criticism and parody... and the way he/she frames all of that as being "insulting" to conducting when it's just him/her who's offended... i mean just fuck right off
We need a part 2 with Celibidache, Bernstein, and Toscanini.
Celibidache is easy...just hire one of his students, they all are imitating him...
Strauß and Furtwängler
Viola! VIOLAAA!!!! (and Carlos Kleiber please)
Celibidache: sit down, hardly move your hands, and constantly grimace at the orchestra
Bernstein: loosen the wrists (barely move your arms), and shrug your shoulders with the music if it gets loud
Toscanini: literally don’t f’kin move. Conduct as if you were a robot programmed directly from a manual on how to conduct.
@@pprudencio1966 kind of ironic how Toscanini, the most robotic conductor, probably was getting the most “into” the music. I’d place him above Bernstein as my favorite conductor, though it’s a close race.
Just saying, I love all these conductors. I intentionally chose their odd or silly moments. Also rattle's Mahler 2 with the Birmingham symphony was superior. Listen to it.
The younger rattle was superior hahaha
This needs more views and a Leonard Bernstein impersonation
. . . and a short baton for Karajan. 😉
@@shrexx955 and Rattle
Yes, Leonard Bernstein doing El Salon Mexico where he's doing a samba instead of giving downbeats at the meter changes ...
Beloved conductor Wilhelm Furtwängler, who mentored Daniel Barenboim IIRC, was one of the many conductors of yesteryear who didn't give clear indications to the players. So there's this story: Two violinists, one from the Berlin Philharmonic and one from the Vienna Philharmonic, met one day. The Vienna player asks: "You know, with Furtwängler, how do you guys know when to start playing?" The Berlin player replies: "We start when the tip of his baton reaches the third button on his vest. And you?" Vienna player: "When we can't take it anymore."
the dudamel impression needs more of his facial expressions, imo
I came here to say the exact same thing, Dudamel cracks me up
and way more jumping, hair swishing - although I think Sweatshirts would need a wig for that
Rattle looked as if he were experiencing either a series of silent screams or just bad orgasms.
Karajan: asleep at the wheel or “The (original) Phantom Menace
karajan does this all the time
Dude you're my hero. Chung was so funny!! I personally have played with him this piece thousand times and every time I was confused with this gesture.
The Rattle impression misses the exploded sofa cushion on his head. ;)
Btw petrenko is a god. Don't get it twisted, he's really doing great.
lol he's not
@@Jomtek
You're nuts. His Tchaikovsky 6th and Scriabin Poem of Ecstasy are extraordinary.
@@budahed54 And Serenade for Strings by Dvorak! Absolute god of a conductor!
The Karajan/Abbado comparison was funny, as well as instructive!
WE NEED LENNY!!!!
Brilliant concept, great execution. Thanks!
barenboim and chung myung whun got me in tears. Great stuff!
I would love to see a part 2 ! This was so iconic
Editing was so good! Thank you for this XD
Please keep doing these... I know this type of content's public is not huge but we appreciate it so much
You already know this video goin viral...this guy's interventions are just incongruently hilarious
I'd love to see a part 2 if one's coming, this is hilarious!
The concert master is like “fuck my life.”
oh my god "fuckin petrenko" "oWw mother fUCker--" "actual mario lookin ass" had me in TEARS asdgjhlkf
Rattle looks like Bilbo trying to take the ring from Frodo.
IT HAS BEEN 2 YEARS. AFTER A LONG AND ARDUOUS SEARCH FOR THIS VIDEO TH-cam JUST RECOMMENDED IT TO ME.
I need next part of this 😭🤣🤣
Great!
If you do a part 2, I would love to see a Solti impersonation :))
Shaping a performance takes place in rehearsal. Yet, your video makes a point about conducting as a a sort of performance art.
I love your impersonation of those legends, Can you do Kubelik next Time ?
Check Gergiev on finale of Stravinsky's Rite of Spring. His conducting style is unique.
What about imitating Karajan, Maazel, Guilini, Solti, Boult, Previn, Furtwangler,
I certainly thought about at least Maazel, Solti and perhaps Furtwangler. I'm thinking a lot about continuing on this, but I certainly want it to be better than the first.
@@ConnorFischettiMusic Good old Maazel and his T. Rex arms!
Das ist klasse. Sie zeigen, wie albern Dirigieren manchmal ist.
We need a part 2
Underrated.
Your hands are too clean, especially for Gergiev. ;)
Yeah, I was expecting you do do his fluttering hand beat patterns (a major wtf...)
Jeeez … Rattle! Amazing
im glad i stumbled upon this channel
Mmmmm same
This is now in my top fav yt videos
lol
yeah, Karajan edited his own (video) recordings, so it's just his mug in most shots.
Two years later lol, nice vid dude
Very entertaining. It hadn't struck me before, but Gergiev stylistically, owes much to the "Frankenstein Monster" School of conducting :-)
Great work! The internet now needs FURTWANGLER!
Maestro
This is awesome hoho
and you even play the violin like Heifetz.
How about Gergiev with baton and Knappertsbusch back to back?
How about Karl Bohm, who died 40 years ago ? He barely moved at all , just his right wrist , and he always had a stone blank expression on his face . But oh the results he got from an orchestra !
Karl Bohm was GREAT. Always thought he looked like some sort of lizard, but...I grew up with his Mozart piano concerto 27, Backhaus and the VPO. Mindblowing.
What about Kleiber or Bernstein?
pd. good video!
cool profile pic and definitely those two.
So many dislikes because of the missing eyebrows? It's a great video, I don't understand people whats to dislike here.
Please do Carlos Kleiber :)
Where’s John Wilson 🥺? Ik he’s not strictly thought of as a classical conductor (which I think is wrong) but his conducting style is quite funny regardless. And I think he’s one of the best conductors ever for what he has achieved with the music he conducts.
if you're going to do gergiev, you have to do the toothpick
Nice :D
4:02, you cut the best notes of the symphony. Take the stand away; that shows you are a better conductor. When you do Gergiev, you need a tooth pick.
Simon Rattle could win in wizards duel
Very funny but aren't you afraid of Never Working Again? ;-)
ohhhh, nice! Celibidache! pls pls pls...
You should do Furtwaengler and Koussevitzky.
What about doing Gergiev conducting with a TOOTHPICK!!!
The Dudamel impression needs a wig - his motions create a lot of flying curly hair that is a part of his mystique.
The Karajan impression was pretty reductive - he did a lot more than that both on the podium and in rehearsal, and the results speak for themselves.
After two years, I definitely agree.
So funny! Karajan deserved more time! Oh, and what about Orozco Estrada!???
Next, imitate Yutaka Sado (Beethoven 9th with 10000 people chorus) please!! 🙇♪
I cried
Lol, nothing like a little Barenboim to confuse an orchestra.
Bravo Fischietti
What about Bernstein? That's would be hilarious!
Show us Klemperer .Mavrinsky is frightening ! Chailly , Celibidache and I haven't seen
Hahahahahahahahahah you are a funny man
You did Karajan❤️
If you want to do Rattle you have to imitate Bilbo Baggins in LOTR...
I've never understood how HvK conducted with his eyes closed, but what do I know?/
I am sure what you are seeing is the concert and not showing what was done in the rehearsals.
This video is important
have you watched Peter jan lousink? hahahahah he is the BEST ever ..Dj style composer
this is so funny what
I think I could actually follow Abbado.... Petrenko always conducts as if he has just downed 5 energy drinks ...... Should do Bernstein and the shoulder tempo........and Mr. Vettone... have a drink
Rattle looks like a sith lord.
Seiji Ozawa on the next version please.
Try to imitate Maestro Zubin Mehta and Leonard Bernstein
Kylie Jenner be like, the orchestra the only useful instrument that you don’t have to touch.
양놈이 올린 영상에서 정명훈이 카라얀이랑 사이먼 래틀 같은 사람들과 같이 비교되는 걸 보니까 별안간 국뽕이 차오른다
What? No Muti?
Unrelated question but has anyone lost a boiled egg
😁😁😁
LMAO.
Kleiber??
No Emmanuelle Haïm?
こういう冗談は好きだな
Falta Bernstein, Celibidache y el más grande... Furtwängler.
What, no Furtie or Klempie?!
Und Karl Richter?
1:07
make more videos
perhaps
Please, do Fritz Reiner. If you conduct like Fritz Reiner, You almost don't conduct.
ну ладно тебе ) В Караяна точно не попал.. этот человек дирижирует сознанием, а не руками
You have to give the beat to the orchestra, not be directed by it...............
You are actually better than Gergiev while doing him
I NEED Mutti
A. Merkel is not on the record for conducting orchestras afaik.
excellent content if you had not been unnecessarily vulgar
Do you have Alopecia?
yes.
Do kleiber
