derailedmotor8 check the resistance between all three wires (br/brbl/g) if they have resistance, pull the pump out, unplug it, and jump start the fuel pump engine with ur battery. If it runs, u know fuel pump is good, and u just need to replace the wires. If it doesnt, then u only need a fuel pump motor ($12) and not a new fuel pump ($300)

Did your pump relay in the back of the bike to the clicking cycle when the pump wasn't priming? On my 04 I hear the click when your turn ignition on, and the click a few seconds later when the prime cycle is complete, just without the actual pump priming.
Does anyone know what the plastic piece is that the wire are connected to be my ground wire is shot all the way up so I can’t use a butt connector someone help me

Really good job finding your problem. I have the same issue, fuel pump not priming but haven't dove into it yet.

I would get the relay switch click, but no priming sound. If u get no click, check relay or fuses
