Thanks for the info, I personally check my oil every day before cranking. Once a day. Military got me doing it and then trucking. Much appreciated video.
I use the synthetic version on my Mini Cooper S, notorious for engine problems, now on 221 thousand miles, no problems with it, added bonus, stopped the oil burning they are notorious for, I'd recommend it
I recommend doing about half a can of seafoam in the crankcase about 100 miles before an oil change, and then adding the Lucas, it damn near works miracles
I dump the whole bottle in. My motors are quiet as a mouse been using it for years. Make sure the oil goes to the high line on the dip stick all the time. Not in the middle
I use the stuff on all my vehicles. I use the 5w20 it calls for but its very thin so after 100k miles or so some guys say go with a thicker oil but if you do 1 qt of lucas with the regular oil it will thicken the oil for the current interval.
My 2000f150 just started making a tick noise, mechanic suggested Lucas oil I’m going to give it a try see if I can get a little extra life out of my truck, otherwise I’ll have to sell a kidney to afford a new one 😂
02 5.3 vortec with 256K used to have 40psi oil now only 20. After I added 1qt of this stuff I’m sitting at 45psi and my motor seems to leak less and sound quieter.
All ya have to do to make it flow better is put it in a pot with water and put it on the kitchen stove till the water boils. It pours as easily as regular oil.
Same here. I buy the oil in a 5 quart jug, pour out a quart, then add the Lucas to the jug. Then I tilt the jug back and forth for a minute or two to premix it.
the problem with lifter ticks is its probably a partially clogged lifter port and thick additive may not be the right direction I've seen videos where they add a bottle of transmission fluid because its high detergent to clean ports. they leave it in til next oil change! .
Man I changed the oil pickup tube oring and the the pressure sensor on my 2005 chevy express didn't work oil pressure was dropping to 10 at idle and 20 while driving put this oil stabilizer in and it worked great 35 psi at idle up to 60 while driving WOW! My chevy express has 297,000 miles I tow a trailer all the tine still has lots of power! So far so good
I put a quart of the synthetic version into a gmc 350, with about 95k miles. It had the usual tick these trucks have. This stuff not only didn't stop the tick, it made my oil a strange consistency. I put this in my generator too, and even though the oil level wasn't low, my gas generator was shutting off as if there was no oil in the motor REPEATEDLY. It wouldn't run more than a number of minutes. I couldn't figure out the problem. I remembered people saying this stuff froths up in the engine, so I changed the oil with ONLY oil, and it ran like new. Also, I started using 0&5W-40 oil in my 350, and the tick got much quieter. I have about 3 quarts of this crap in my shed, with nonplans to use it.
Less is more in winter weather.0w20 to 5w30 quieted my young engine. My 280000 ford gets thicker oil, and a swig of lucas. Just enough to show on a cold dip stick. Winter cold . Not needed like 105°summer heavy hauling. Just saying.
@@obeseopinions4507 I use slightly heavier oil for desert heat. 15w40 vs 10w30 in cool coastal weather. My truck has a micro head crack so I never use 5w30. If I warm it up before a trailer hawl with a few ounces of lucas oil cond or stop leak the seap leak is not noticeable.
Your hurting the engine at start up with that thick of oil the first number represents the thickness while cold running a 50W in the winter months is NOT a good idea The oil will not be able to make it's way through all the smaller oil ports in the engine as well
As shown here it is completely wrong. You should never add LUCAS straight, but always mix it with the engine oil beforehand and only then fill it in! is also recommended by the LUCAS company!
save al ltha trubbish just use a much thicker oil.. its not going t ofix the motor just create a smaller gap between mechanical parts... revving the shit out of it on start up dont help.. no reason to do that at all.. just turn the key..

be careful with this thing it modifies the oil converting it form its original grade to a higher one if you put it to a 5w30 it converts it to a 10w50
@@lexiath The synthetic version is much lower viscosity for that reason.

Use 20w50 vavoline race oil, worked on my 1999 suburban with 165k miles. I also added 1 quart of lucas high milage oil stabilizer.
Where did you get your C.L.S. CERTIFICATION.😂😂
Used this for a noisy motor that was running rough.. actually fixed it..
I couldn’t believe it myself..
no it didnt fix it at all. your just kidding yourself. the problem is still there and your engine is not running like it should, its worn out
@@philldownes8685could have just been running rough cause dirty oil and stuck lifters and the Lucas could have fixed the problem.

Very interesting, that’s something I’ll have to look up too! Thanks!
Exactly. Add can seafoam in with oil then few hundred miles later change.
Seafoam also works well added in the crankcase
Agree with the others
Add Seafoam for a few hundred miles
It will break up any sludge in the tiny oil ports

Very specific ❤🎉 loved it
How long after you add oil stabilizers, do they last in terms of mileage. And thanks for the vid wasnt sure where to addi t
i use 2 qts - just fine.
I judt did this how long does it take yo to work the knocking noise has stopoed but when i oress da gas its a rattling sound still
The noise will probably never completely go away but this helps reduce the knock
I’m at 80% oil life , can I just pour a bottle without having to drain a quart ?
Check your oil level on the dipstick. Will need to drain a little if it’s still full.
What’s the easiest way to drain a quart of oil? Just as if I’m changing it, from the oil plug below the vehicle?
Yes, quickly pull the plug for a few seconds and check the level and repeat until a quart low.
Can you use this with synthetic oil as well?
08 Toyota Tacoma v6
Yes, make sure to check the label on the lucas for more recommendations
What kind of vehicle is this? Just curious.
2009 Dodge Nitro
I have a question. Use the whole bottle or just a half.
Use the whole bottle
Please ALWAYS mix LUCAS with the engine oil beforehand and only then fill it in! If done like in this video, engine damage could occur!
Update?
It worked well. I sold the car last year for a newer vehicle
Thanks for the video, may I ask the difference between this the the pure synthetic
I would recommend reading the bottle labels to find out the difference
Can I use it on my Toyota venture
Probably yes
I’ve used it on 170k motor it does help but doesn’t totally shut it up
But it sounds like you have his road knocked engine tick

I have a full oil tank, could I use this now or do I have to let it lower down on the oil.
You need to drain one quart of oil. Never overfill the engine over its full capacity or you can damage the engine seals
What if I did the oil change already but didn’t put the Lucas ? Can I still put Lucas ?
Yes. Drain a quart of oil. Check the dipstick to make sure you are a quart low and then add Lucas. Or just wait until next oil change.
Does it work for oil burn engine ?
I’m not sure but it is worth trying
It definitely helps burn less oil, won’t be able to stop it completely but it’s better than nothing, it helps my f150 not leak oil as bad

Very little to no anti wear ingredients in that stuff. Your depleting your oils additive wear package using that stuff.
They make a high mileage version that has additives.
Might as well spend the extra money for better oil, instead of additive. You could have just used 5W40 with high zinc and moly.
Adding a oil stabilizer reduces your additive package in your oil, the reason for the engine knock is because of a stablizer.
