Simply delicious!... Even without reducing the sauce. If you like, you can start by reducing the water to 1/2 cup to shorten the reduction time at the end.
I unfortunately do not own the instant pot, but one of their competitors products. However, I have found all the recipes work just as well in my own and they're always so delicious. I tried out the one pot pasta today, and my family loved it.
Much to my surprise, I now own 2 electric pots. One 6q Power Cooker and One 6q Instant Pot 7in1. I got the Instant Pot because of the Yogurt maker. I thought I would find a new home for the Power Cooker. Yet tonight I made Dal in one pot and goat curry in the other. The power of 2 pots! :)
I hate cooking, not because I can't, but because of how LONG it takes, and I have so much to do with my work, there's not enough hours in the day. This must be the ultimate solution, and if i travel with work, it would be like having a portable kitchen too? :O wow... This seems a great investment!
If you put the pork in a frying pan after you take it out of the pot and get a little color on the outside, you can put a some of the reduced sauce over it to create a glaze. That knocks the recipe out of the park.
I've been eating chicken and pork adobo all my life (60+) I've watched your chicken video as well and I really need to try this with my instant pot. Thanks for videos. Big thumbs up.
Luv ur instant pot cooking channel.. would be super helpful if u had the recipe in the description as well for easy reference. Thanks again for a super easy dish!
Thanks so much, Jeannie! I no longer have the capacity to write out all my recipes as I want to create more videos for all of you so I try to make sure I don't leave anything out in the video. Thanks for understanding!
It's weird but showing the "eating" part seems to be the epitome of most popular cooking shows here on TH-cam. I too always wished (silently) that you'd try your food too so I'm glad someone spoke up about it 😉 Thank you for this recipe!
I was going to make Adobo tonight but no sugar in the house. Usually I make in a cast iron skillet but next time will try in the IP because much quicker. I did pork last time and also adobo kangkong since I eat vegetarian mainly. I have to decide in the new year which IP I want to buy. I have a 6 qt which was special buy at Wal-Mart for $49.99 USD the other one I will buy on your link though. The 6qt I am taking and leaving in Philippines since starting next year I will be spending about 5 months there to get away from the winters here.
put the vinegar at the end not the beginning you get a much better result, also u should remove the pork and fry it then return it to the reduced source.....she forgot the garlic to
Wouldn't it be a better idea to mix all the ingredients in bowl first and then add them to the pot? That way the bottom ribs wouldn't get all the soy sauce.
Instant Pot operates at 11.6 psi so I imagine you could do the recipe quicker. If you like the ribs a bit more fall off the bone, I would keep the cook time the same. Otherwise adjust it by a few minutes.
Filipino adobo sauce is basically the adobo marinade after cooking. The main base is soy sauce, vinegar, peppercorns. Commonly added to the base is garlic, bay leaves, sugar and even Sprite or 7-up.
It appeared to me whenever I cook pork ribs, they become very rough in texture. I simply think that they don't have enough fat and the meat become tough after being cooked slowly.
Doesn’t look delicious. The sauce is too thin/watery and the finished dish looks too pale. Looks like it lacks depth of flavor, and the pork doesn’t look tender.

Hey if I want to make my Adobo darker, should I add dark soy sauce? Or reduce the soy sauce a bit and substitute that quantity with dark soy sauce?
If you put the pork in a frying pan after you take it out of the pot and get a little color on the outside, you can put a some of the reduced sauce over it to create a glaze. That knocks the recipe out of the park.

😂😂Love you Dan!! You guys kill it as a TEAM!!💪🏼💪🏼

Yep... the brains behind it all, he says. ;)
You need to be sponsored by HGTV, Cooking Channel or even PBS. We enjoy the dynamic duo of Dude and Flo Lum.
You put in a good word for us, ok? 😉
excellent video. curious besides the different kinds of rice, what sides would you also pair with the chicken/pork adobo? thanks
Flo and The Brain, thanks again‼️👍
Looks super yummy & easy!
Yes! Hope you'll give it a try!
Thanks Flo! I am loving the chicken adobo recipe. Will be trying this one soon! I enjoy your videos :)
+Vonna Sparks Thanks, Vonna! Let me know how it turns out!
I like to add a circle of ketchup at the top, then let it cook. It gives it a slightly more red color :)
“All the haters!!” Lol 😂 he’s funny
+Jackie Garcia 😂
I own the mini so I made it without the meat and it was still delicious. Thanks for sharing!
Can we make combine chicken and meat
How long do you cook it for?

Wow! Nice option to be able to go somewhere warm to avoid the cold!
Going to try making this. Good to see you do a tasting. Next time, get your husband to taste and describe! Keep up the videos.
It is really going beyond my comfort level! I should get Dude to do the tasting part. ;) Thanks for commenting!

I have a non electric pressure cooker that cooks at 15 psi. Do I need to modify the cooking time?
Instant Pot operates at 11.6 psi so I imagine you could do the recipe quicker. If you like the ribs a bit more fall off the bone, I would keep the cook time the same. Otherwise adjust it by a few minutes.
Thank you for the answer. It's very sweet of you.
I try. ;)
Flo Lum And you succeed
How would you say the Pressure Cooker version compares to say a Dutch Oven version? Mostly Same taste? better? worse? certainly quicker!
+Steve Wolfe I would say quite similar but quickness + good flavour totally wins!
I think adobo taste better when cooked slowly
I'm not sure I understand. What is Adobo sauce?
Filipino adobo sauce is basically the adobo marinade after cooking. The main base is soy sauce, vinegar, peppercorns. Commonly added to the base is garlic, bay leaves, sugar and even Sprite or 7-up.
Yeah the sauce would need a lot of reduction to bring some color and taste deepening. :p
kmg501 yes... too impatient. LOL
You should make the sauce a little bit thick.
Ha?
It appeared to me whenever I cook pork ribs, they become very rough in texture. I simply think that they don't have enough fat and the meat become tough after being cooked slowly.
looks great.. though that is a lot of salt thx to all that soy! Thx Flo!
You can always decrease the amount to your taste.
Low sodium soy option as well.
Hmmmm....
thats alot of damn soy sauce. hahahaha.
Sorry to be frank, that's not pork adobo.
Doesn’t look delicious. The sauce is too thin/watery and the finished dish looks too pale. Looks like it lacks depth of flavor, and the pork doesn’t look tender.
Looks pretty crappy
