    Now that I'm running the Stage 2 - E30 - Single Pulley tune from Integrated Engineering, I needed to remove my catalytic converters ASAP to prevent them from melting and causing a catastrophic failure. Reiter Performance and I did some researching and think we found the perfect solution for keeping my B8 S4 from sounding like crap and being obnoxiously loud all the time while running test pipes. In this video we show you a quick overview of the parts we used, the install and then we finish off with some sound clips for you all to enjoy!!!

    I had custom test pipes and custom catted down pipes installed in my car with the Magnaflow 11385 x pipe on the down pipes post cat, stock center muffler removed and rear stock mufflers in place. OMG was it loud and raspy very little throttle, it just sounded so cheap. Then I added the Vibrant Ultras where the the stock mid muffler used to be and just like you it was quiet when daily driving, but nice and lets say "noticeable" when I got on it. I do have a lower tone then your setup, but still no drone. One thing I will warn you is that the Vibrant Resonators are specifically made for applications in the mid to rear of the car (it actually on the box). Adding it in the front is going to cause them to fail by overheat as our systems run hot, there was a post about his on Audizine. I would suggest you contact Vibrant just to make sure you are ok and don't need to take any action. I live south of you in Washington so I know the our PNW area is not known for getting super hot, but last thing you want to do is blow out a new set of resonators and wonder what happened. If you are interested you can read and hear some of sound clips of how it all played out on my blog - www.mys4.org/

    Subscribed. My cats have been hanging on for awhile now. Been stage 1 IE since 85k. Now at 140k. Have a set of stock cats with 70k on them bought off AZ. Plans were to hollow them. But kicking around relocation and vibrant. Thanks.

    • @VancityAudi
      @VancityAudi  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The amount of heat you generate on a Stage 1 tune is significantly less than what you see Stage 2, especially on a dual pulley setup. I had no doubt in my mind my cats were completely fine on Stage 1. I personally would keep the cats in if you are sticking with the Stage 1 tune from IE. If you really are concerned you could visually inspect them before spending on the money on relocating them.

    Had mine done a few weeks back, they were custom made. Getting parts to the southern tip of Africa is just too expensive With just the test pipes and stock exhaust, it was way too loud and raspy😡, so ended up having the whole system custom built with resonators and rear boxes. Sounds good and no drone but the gear change “farts” have disappeared 🤷‍♂️

Reason 2. Jhm test pipes are a very nice build quality, I’ve done countless research and they are the best on the market (600$) Reason 3. I went with the high flow catted non res downpipes (1,000$) because it’s not some janky setup with some weird ass muffler you gotta cut in an weld into your exhaust. I want my car to sound good but not to be blowing out clouds of smoke and have my car smell like crap. Also the Jhm system is actually very nice and fits perfectly all together.
