Thank you for this video. Just a couple of questions:
1) I have mailed the tax refund form with the original receipt and customs stamp (i physically obtained a stamp because there was no machine) before departing Belgium on the 30th of December. Is it normal to have not received the refund on my credit card yet? You mentioned that yours was received after 3 weeks. Did any of your tax refund take longer?
2) I have another purchase that didn’t have the original receipt so customs didn’t give me a stamp for that and they told me I won’t get a refund for it, which I understood. Did I need to mail the tax refund form to Global Blue? I did not mail it since I don’t have the customs stamp and the original receipt for that other purchase, hence they will not process the refund anyway.

u should not checked it in because u have to show it to the custom office

Thanks for this video. I saw that your store receipt was stapled to the tax refund form which you ended up mailing out. Did the store issue you a duplicate receipt for you to keep? Thanks in advance for your answer.

We bought hand bag and then the Gucci store gave us the form. Today we gonna go to orly airport and scan it.

A process it very simple. I am impressed by how digital the French is.
yes send the form they told u to send... the refund would we around 2 months... yup impressive indeed! in Netherlands, they do it manually... not digital

We scan the form but on the screen is Shown one red and it told us to talk to the agent next to the machine
she told us that as long it was scanned, you would get refund back to our credit card Automatically. No need to send in any form in the dropbox based on her.Wow two months is a long time.

@@thewanderinggemini6847 Mine has red on -- NON-VALIDATED FORM -- (so it did not validate) not green and it instructed us to talk to office but a office lady said no need to physically give our form to her, and said that it will be refund automatically if you scanned the form. If I remember, when we tried to hit return button on the red non-validated screen, it did not do anything. We should have slow down, and spent more time and asked a guy next to us, though he is not in uniform. Not sure this will work for us, will wait and see. Little confused if one got red non-validated form.
There is another long line on the other side for cash refund but we did not have enough time to wait and miss our flight. We should have given one hour extra to arrive, and not rushing...

yes! the kiosk for scanning is before you go to the security check in

@@sanjayrawal7903 i think if u will buy all those things in one shop and then u will have a receipt of more than 100€ then maybe u can apply for a tax refund

@@thewanderinggemini6847 Thanks, that would be great as the tax is 20% in France, but as far as I know there are some fees that are deducted before the refund.
12% is what you will be refunded not 20%.

Hi, thanks for this! Very helpful. I have a question -- it says you have to immediately leave the EU after doing this. If you're going from paris to rome for example, does it mean you cannot do the tax refund in paris CDG? they will use the card details of the card that u used to pay for the item... if u pay thru credit card then the refund will get in there

LV store gave it to me... and the guys in the custom office just pointed out to do it in the automated machine

in paris i think it was 11%... depends on the european country where u bought the item... but usually is 10-15%

I see the form you put in the box has a receipt on it, is that just a copy of the receipt? (You still have a copy of yours)

u should have asked for a tax refund form from the shop where u bought the item, then have it stamped in the airport custom office.. then mailed that form and the receipt to the address the shop would have given u to mail it to

I just bought an LV bag today and went to global lounge for my refund and they told me refund was already processed in the store and i just need to scan the barcode at the airport machine and I'm good to go.

Hi I'm currently studying in Paris and I bought multiple things from Chanel, Prada, and other luxury brands. I've been planning to get my refund but there's a problem I'm not planning to leave France until at least may and many of my VATs will expire by then. What will happen if I go to get my refund also do I need a ticket to access the machine?

u need the tax refund form from the stores where u bought the items...

nope! Gatwick is in London... London/ Uk doesn't refund taxes anymore like this

yeah u should have it scan at the airport of the last country you've been before going back to your home country... if there no stamp, you can go to the custom office of that airport and have it scan

1. What does VAT Refund Drop Off Box do? since in the video you dropped the form into it after your form was validated; what does it mean?
2. since you pressed cash icon, did you choose a refund in cash?
if u buy something more than 100€ in paris, u can apply for a tax refund

nope! no need to scan your passport for that purpose on that machine; the receipt given to u is all yours... only the envelope with that paper is all that you are going to send

(I thought there's someone how checks you have the item in it's original packaging)
in Paris it is like this because they are digital already... there is somebody in the office at the back of that machine but he did not check anything
in amsterdam, the people from the custom really check the receipt before he stamped it

yup u can! i have tried it as well, i mailed the stamped form when i got back home... it was not electronic the other one that i did

depends on the form that the store will give you... as for Louis vuitton, stamp was no longer necessary so i just scanned it right away and dropped it at the box
I was at Gare de nord last friday they said no need to drop in the box i purchased from Louis Vuitton gave me all the papers. But the people behind the Kiosk the Personel said no need to put it in the box. Is it ok? or do i need to send it somewhere?

it is just thru computer so it is 24/7... u will just scan it in the computer or machine

I don’t believe the machines are open /24/7. I was just there at 5:30AM and the machines were not functioning yet. I had to wait until 6AM. To my knowledge, there are 2 areas in terminal 2 where you can get the refund, so perhaps the times vary
