Only 6 buildings over 1000 ft in Chicago and just 17 in NYC. I used to think our cities are huge, but after a trip from Dubai and China, our city skyline and skyscrapers looks so small. We only have one Chicago and NYC (maybe SFO too), but China have atleast 10 of them (not including Hong Kong) and most of us didn’t even heard those names at all yet. USA builds buildings based on land demand - there is no scheme by the goverment in USA to brand their cities. In fact USA is known for their semi-urban lifestyle while China builds dense cities. Apart from NYC Chicago and a few other cities most cities in USA are giant suburbia including Los Angeles.
