    Merri's mechanical skills are impressive. Removing a stuffed animal from your air intake is a tricky operation. 🤣

    I note that the mechanic's hands never got oily. That's not the way it is when I work on my vehicle. Maybe I'm not doing it right :-)

    Thank you for the great info! 🙏🏽 I am currently collecting some gear/supplies and working on a new truck rig to get out there for some “dispersed” camping. This was very helpful. Also, thanks for showing the part of the country I have never been there!

    Welcome to my homeland! Hope you guys enjoyed your trip. I love watching your videos so seeing you come through my state is very exciting.
    I have an ‘07 fj cruiser I’m turning into an overlanding rig and this trip is one of the first I have planned.

    Stumbled on this via the yt recommended videos. Glad I did. Great photography, great dialogue, and very useful information. Looked at some of your other videos and decided that you offer solid, down to earth information. Subbed and thumbs up. One question....why did you choose the TRD Off Road over the TRD PRO? Is it because your mechanical skills allow you to do your own mods?

    • @WanderlostOverland
      @WanderlostOverland  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching and subscribing! There's a lot more coming in the future. We got the OffRoad model because we knew we'd be changing out the suspension, and that's about the only difference between the Pro and Offroad.

    love your channel guys. question for you, I see that you have a place to attach an awning on your oem roof bars, would you mind explaining what that is? Im looking for a way to install my awning without having to buy an aftermarket roof rack. thanks!!

      @WanderlostOverland  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! Here's how we mounted it on our FJ rack. It's about the same for the 4R. th-cam.com/video/Rb0V16zp9Y8/w-d-xo.html

    Hi Mark and Merri,
    Really appreciate your mod videos as well as this one. I recently bought a 2016 Limited 4Runner and intend some mods after I complete a front bumper swap. (I had an unfortunate collision shortly after I purchased it, but seemed lile an opportunity to gain some front clearance and eliminate some chrome accents.)
    I noticed in this video you swapped TRD Pro wheels on your Off Road 4Runner. I am planning to swap 17" wheels for my Limited's 20" to make it more off road capable? One opinion suggested, despite appearance, that the Pro wheel design was not as sturdy as the Off Road design. Any truth to this opinion? Also any AT tire recs?

    • @WanderlostOverland
      @WanderlostOverland  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching our videos! We have many more in the works!The smaller wheels will give you more sidewall flex when "air downed" for offroad.We've never heard the TRD wheels are weaker than the Off Road. Can't imagine there's much truth to it.As far as AT tire recommendations; We personally are incredibly happy with the Nitto Ridge Grapplers.

    God bless you two!
    Question: do you air down your tires when off road?

    • @WanderlostOverland
      @WanderlostOverland  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks you!We adjust our air according to the surface we're on. For Highway travel we run 38psi to get the best fuel mileage. For rough gravel and dirt we go down to somewhere between 25 and 30 depending on how rough it is. This gives us a much more comfortable ride. When in loose dirt, mud, snow or large rocks & boulders we go down to 20psi to give ourselves a big foot print.

    Where do you recommend finding a source of good locations to go overlanding? Is there a website you could recommend?

      @WanderlostOverland  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      A great place to start is Overland Bound. They have a fantastic forum on their website.

    What are the biggest tires you can fit on a 2011 4Runner trail without a lift?

    • @WanderlostOverland
      @WanderlostOverland  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Short answer; it depends. I posted a fitment chart under the Community tab on our channel. This should be able to answer your question. Thanks for watching!
