As a paramedic, you can never use too much Chlorhexidine on a bacterial (or suspected bacterial infection site). It is also not painful for the recipients (human or animal).
I started thinking myself “I wonder how dry this hoof is, or if it’s a tie style barn…” Truly educational content at its best that it has become almost automatic.
I always look forward to your vids showing up in my notifications. In my mind, you are G.O.A.T of hoof trimmers. Your knowledge, skill with the knife/grinder are second to none and knowing what medications to use is always on point. Great job Nate. And i may be a little here, but i hope you and yours have a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
I'm always impressed by your skills, and your knives seem so much sharper than other hoof trimmers I watch. I would be very interested to watch you sharpening some please. Many thanks David in the UK.
Thanks again Nate. Love to see your healing powers in action. Its crazy how much material was there in the beginning of this trim that seemed so loose, almost ready to come off on its own.
The cow looks comfortable walking after her trim. This was a nice one---caught early, just needed to be cleared and an escape path for slurry to be cut out. She will heal in a jiffy. I always like seeing lots of chlorhexidine spray used. It washes out the debris and disinfects at the same time. The washing out is quite satisfying.
Hahaha I always watch at 2x the speed because it's easier to focus on the hoof! Thank you for all your videos, I always look Forward to them and any older ones I've missed! God bless you and your family
Nate is the real deal hoof guy you can tell he loves the animals. His videos are simple, straight to the point in about healing. Sadly, I have seen other tremors who want to make their selves an icon like a Conor McGregor of hooves that kind of grosses me out as an animal lover Nate is the best does it need to show his face or his new haircut, just as love for the animals.
I am a bit stunned on how you have passively educated me over the past year or so. To the point where I can say "oh that is X and needs Y" just before you say or do it. Not that I could do a trim or anything, but, where I can recognize certain things. As alway thank you.
Great video bud and thanks for explaining things as you go it seemed quite on the farm don’t remember ever hearing your knife make that much noise while trimming
Cows definitely know people, and are snooty toward strangers. They'll show clear happiness when a friendly worker returns from a vacation. So it's possible they could make that connection.
Hello there, Nate!! New subscriber here... No idea how long you've been doing this kind of work, but you are really doing a great job giving these cows a great deal of relief from otherwise a very miserable situation. Sorry, but my curiosity forced me to ask you this question...... What do you usually do when you come across an infected hoof that putting a block to assist the cow walk is not even possible? Does it mean that the cow would be totally immobilized?
I work with a grinder each day on steel. Id like to one day try the cutting disc on a hoof trim and also use the knife. I think i would really like this job except for the slurry i suppose.
On the Left Side of the Right Side ...What is the Dark / Grey Discoloration that seems to be in the Hoof ? Psst...I was Never the Least bit Interested in any of this Farm Stuff...but U R Like a Craftsman at Work . U should be a Finish Carpenter , Churning out Beautiful Wood Projects .
How many times do you change your grinding wheel, Nate, to not only remove horn quickly but to roughen the surface for the glue you use on those rubber blocks?
I've been watching you for awhile and a passive observer but not gonna lie, I was waiting if there would be a fluid that will pop out as an instant relief.
❤Hi Nate, I find your videos and your breath of experience awesome. I do have one question though. When you use the grinding wheel, I notice you round off the medial and lateral hooves at the toe. Why do you do this? Is there a specific reason or is it just a cosmetic reason? I would be very interested in your answer if you have time. 😊😊
Is it possible to show the hoof from the side. It's difficult to tell if you are peeling off a lot of hoof or just a little when we can only get a over-head on picture. Thank You for some very interesting videos.
Hey Nate! Hope youre having a great day! I have a ? For you that maybe you can answer in a video. When you trim hoove, it appears you hollow out the medial sides if the “toes”. But it appears one gets a sharper angle than the other. Could you explain why please? Thank you!! Hope you have a great day.
I believe that video would be in his frequently asked questions Playlist when he explans his tools and how he maintains them. I just checked and it's not in that playlist, but in one video out there he explains sharpening. I believe he uses a buffing wheel on a bench grinder, every day, every knife.
I have a question. When a foot has problems on both toes, is it ever beneficial to put blocks on both toes to act as shock absorbers? Something better to walk on than whatever they are walking on? Like horseshoes I guess.
Nate! Where do you keep your tools when you're doing something like this? Do you have a tool bag or do you wear like an apron with pockets to hold your knives and scrapers and stuff?
Hi nate how come you don't start with a Dutch trim like the hoof gp and I've the hooves you work on look a different texture to one's the hoof gp works on in Scotland
If that epoxy is strong enough to j no old up what is it like when Mother Nature doesn’t remove it and you have to. How about a video of you having to remove one and that way not only do we see what all it involves with you but we will get to see how well they hold up to the normal wear and tear of use.
If there is an infection then yes! Imagine someone digging underneath your infected fingernail 😢😢😢. It makes me crazy that they don't use anything to numb. I think it's cruel.
Nate I appreciate that you don't use any music in your videos.
Just keeping it simple is all thats needed!
Agreed. The other guys' videos have way too much extra stuff and feel good bs to make longer videos.
I was thinking the same thing. I assumed she was kept in a straw pen.
Great video, nate. You mentioned hoof erosion from slurry. Could you do a video showing the types of bedding and how it affects the hoof horn? Thanks😊
With all the bad things in the world, it's refreshing to see someone genuinely good and doing a kindness for others. Well done, as always.

Agreed. As cows go, Nate is the GOAT.
I'm always impressed by your skills, and your knives seem so much sharper than other hoof trimmers I watch. I would be very interested to watch you sharpening some please.
Many thanks
David in the UK.
Oh, he DID and they are WONDERFUL!!!🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪 Gotta love a guy who makes his own tools.👍🏼
Thanks again Nate. Love to see your healing powers in action. Its crazy how much material was there in the beginning of this trim that seemed so loose, almost ready to come off on its own.
Always happy to get notice for your videos!
Yay, Nate is back! We got rocks, we got cracks and we got erosion, it's a party!!! WOOT!!🎉🎆🎉🐄🎇💖
😂 for us, but not so much for the cow, but she's on the way to recovery now!😊🎉!
Did you get a new mic? It's absolutely wonderful. I mean you can really hear that trim! Just terrific!
Merry Christmas! Nate!

Never change Nate. This is the best hoof channel out there now.
Hahaha I always watch at 2x the speed because it's easier to focus on the hoof! Thank you for all your videos, I always look Forward to them and any older ones I've missed! God bless you and your family
I love watching you helping these sweet animals 🥰
Moo! Thank you Nate! That's a lot of hard work, and you do it gracefully.
Nate is the real deal hoof guy you can tell he loves the animals. His videos are simple, straight to the point in about healing. Love these amazing vids keep it up Nate!

Your videos are always so comforting and educational. Thank you so much for your wonderful narration!
Great video bud and thanks for explaining things as you go it seemed quite on the farm don’t remember ever hearing your knife make that much noise while trimming
love these videos. I'd love to see a video when the block is being removed and how the healed hoof looks
All the cows under your care. Want to wish you a happy holiday. Thank you for caring 🇺🇲❤️
Nice work, Nate. Like the sound of your knive working. 😂
Hi mr nate you do a good job on 🐄 🐮 🐄 hoofs nate the hoof guy
Great work. Cheers from the 920 of Wisconsin.
How much memory do the cows have? Do they associate you with an improved foot, and remember next time?
Cows definitely know people, and are snooty toward strangers. They'll show clear happiness when a friendly worker returns from a vacation. So it's possible they could make that connection.
Why can't I stop watching these videos...
Never gets old watching this...I don't know why lol.
Happy Sunday Nate. It’s great to watch you work. Your video has helped to calm my heart as the Packers play the Chiefs. Go Pack Go!
We haven’t had a “Tongue Out Tuesday” in a while… I miss that special day.

Welcome!! That is a GREAT question, Nate. We would all love to hear what happens!
I thought for sure there would be infection but I’m glad there wasn’t but it sure went up the hoof and quite deep. 💚💚
I never second guess you. 😊
You said "crack". 😂😂 Dont block me, Nate.
How frequently do you have to sharpen your knives?
Cracks and Rocks and Erosion! Oh my!
Cracks and Rocks and Erosion! Oh my!
Thanks for taking care of the cows feet
I work with a grinder each day on steel. Id like to one day try the cutting disc on a hoof trim and also use the knife. I think i would really like this job except for the slurry i suppose.
I am for to watching these shows and very well and inspired to become a cow crap scraper off the hoofs
Thank you, Nate
As always, great work!
It's got cracks in it
It's got rocks in it
But you know what it ain't got?
Ain't got no gas in it.
Excellent job
Nothing better than hearing you say salasilic acid
Hey, Nate. Do you ever get tendonitis from so much repetitive opposing strength based motion?
It's quiet in the chute today! All the rest out to pasture? Last cow of the day?

How many times do you change your grinding wheel, Nate, to not only remove horn quickly but to roughen the surface for the glue you use on those rubber blocks?
I'm going to say it's extremely rare. Blades like that are generally used for things like wood or metal......
He might have 2 grinders, one for trimming and one for roughing up the surface of the hoof.
Good explanation/fast video. Aside, maybe a side shot when they are unbalanced before you. grind?
0:13 did anyone else think We Will Rock You was about to start playing 😅
This guy must have hands like a vice grip. Amazing you can do that work day after day.
Crack rock erosion. Sounds like a awesome name for a band!😂
great job Nate ❤
please make a show! TLC needs to get on this!!
I think maybe she wanted to say thanks. 😂
Nice neat job

Why not put rubber pad on all hooves for the cows in order to protect the hooves from rocks, slurry, and then change them out every 2 weeks?
Hope your neck is healed. I did that with the other end!
I'm curious about the grinder and the different wheels. Have you done a "tools of the trade" video?
Nice job Nate ❤
You are awesome!
random comment to help with the **ALGORITHMS** 12/3 lalalalalalallalalalalalalallalala
new mic? audio is fantastic!
Great video
Good to see you, Nate! How’s the weather there? Any snow yet?
Quick question. What are the pros and cons of rubber vs wooden blocks for the cow hook?
The knife sounds different, I am guessing it's because this hoof is harder than most on the channel.

I loved watching ❤❤❤
Oohhh, I don't know how I feel about the knife-scrapy sounds -!
Just want the poor Cows hooveseys to feel better! 😬🎉🙏👍
How do you sharpen you knifes and maintain your kit ? Be a great video
I believe that video would be in his frequently asked questions Playlist when he explans his tools and how he maintains them.

New mike? Like the sound change
1:33-1:37 Pointy bits are not terribly pointy to begin with but I WILL TAKES WHAT I CAN GETS!!! 💖💝❤
Can you show how/where you have your camera setup when working?
I have a question. When a foot has problems on both toes, is it ever beneficial to put blocks on both toes to act as shock absorbers? Something better to walk on than whatever they are walking on? Like horseshoes I guess.
How would you sharpen that knife?
Nate! Where do you keep your tools when you're doing something like this? Do you have a tool bag or do you wear like an apron with pockets to hold your knives and scrapers and stuff?
I'd love a follow up on this one!
Hi nate how come you don't start with a Dutch trim like the hoof gp and I've the hooves you work on look a different texture to one's the hoof gp works on in Scotland
I feel like you could use a melon baller as a tool lol.
Hey does anyone know if this happens with pasture raised cattle or is this just a result of the hefty cows standing around inside all day?
If that epoxy is strong enough to j no old up what is it like when Mother Nature doesn’t remove it and you have to. How about a video of you having to remove one and that way not only do we see what all it involves with you but we will get to see how well they hold up to the normal wear and tear of use.
Crack rock erosion. Reminds me of my neighbors teeth
Hey mate question you probably won't read but
Does it hurt the cow when you "cut their foot off" pretty much?
How often do you sharpen your knife and how do you sharpen it
Gotta keep that digis away
As a mechanic I'm wondering how bad does your hands hurt at the end of a big day.
Nice job Nate I am sure cows feels better.
I Prefer Crack Rocks and Excuses, actually. 🎉
Maybe it's just because I'm a girl, but I wish those blocks came in different colors :)
Anyone else think this damaged claw looks like a raw potato? XD
Ive got a question. How many cows do you do in a day?
It's like peeling an onion or potato lol
IS ANY OF THIS PAINFUL FOR THE BEAST INVOLVED?!?
If there is an infection then yes! Imagine someone digging underneath your infected fingernail 😢😢😢. It makes me crazy that they don't use anything to numb. I think it's cruel.
