I figured I’d always be left coveting that classic Green Amp sound…until now. From to the artwork to how responsive this pedal is in so many different scenarios is bitchin! It’s great clean but I’m gain glutton, so running the pedal through the effects return is definitely my preference. You make super versatile circuits that are awesome! Love all your work, Jason! Cheers!
Liked it best straight into the power amp. Just ordered one today and that is how I plan to use it, straight into the power amp section of my 2 Brunetti Heads 🤘
I just got mine. Looking forward to running it in parallel with my Gremlin Ceremonial (Sunn Model T) preamp and slamming them with various boosts and drives to see what sounds best. Thanks for making such rad pedals.
I can't EVER get enough of my 1970s Acoustic 450 Head through an ampeg 810, gets looooud and dirty close second being my 67 Bassman 50 with a master volume mod for guitar
Oh man, I've been waiting for a pedal like this. It sounds good at any point in the chain, but I think it sounds most amp like going into the effects loop return/power amp.
AWESOME pedal, art is CRAZY sick(is there gonna be a shirt soon?) Like it better as a preamp sounds huge Vintage amp favorito got to be Peavey 400 series "THE BASS" Watching from Puerto Rico💪🏼🔥🤘🏼
I like that pedal and i have been thinking of buying an Orange OR-120 inspired preamp pedal for my pedal board. My favorite vintage amps are the Vox AC-30 and Traynor YBA-1A MKII. I own a newer AC-30 and it is a fun amp and takes dirt and pedals well when you know how to work with it. I've borrowed a Traynor YBA but didn't scoop it up when i had the chance. I bet with the board that i have now that is more focused on stacking gain it would be a monster with a 2x15 or 4x12 cabinet.
I liked the pedal into the clean channel and as a preamp the best...but the AORs dirt channel already is super heavy sounding and needs no dirt pedal in front of it. Love your setup as I use a guitar with Bareknuckle pickups and a Laney AOR head with an AOR 2x12 (loaded with Jensen Electric Lighning speakers). Cheers form Austian!
I just saw the fet120 black friday offer for $99 and I missed it! shame on me ;) besides when the pedal will be back? I would like it to be available especially in France
Sounded best to me as preamp, as for my favorite vintage amp... probably Ampeg V2/4, I have an early (non master volume) V2 in Boston. Not that I am in Boston, or it is currently working, but it's something. Watching from the Netherlands.
dont own any vintage amps, im a modern high gain guy (engl, mesa) but i love my doom and and my fuzz pedals. im thinking about getting the fet120 to run as a preamp into my KSR PA50!
I was wondering this as well. I have a Fuzzlord Nazareth (octave up into Rat). Wonder if this would sound good running the Nazareth into an FET120. The definitely look like they match.
I like the doom screamer or drone master in LED clipping mode with mid scooped mode engaged low gain as a clean boost into it! The Nazareth was one of my all time favorites! It’s like a dod250 with a badass active 3 band tone stack and the octave up ring mod boost 🖤🔈
Shit Jason, I liked that pedal no matter where it was in the signal chain!!! Generally I run my pedal board into the front of my amp on it’s clean setting, I want to hear my pedals not the amp distortion. Just my preference, not saying it’s for everyone. Great video, keep up the great work!!!🤘🤘🤘
Are you going to be making more of these available in the near future? I've been shopping around for an OR120 preamp pedal and this is my favorite I've seen. That killer weedian artwork is a great plus as well
Haha, I also had a Professor Shuman who taught studio recording. Been looking for a specific distortion sound, probably gonna go with the FTW120. Keep the cool shit coming Jason! P.S. Check out the song Wanderingsoul by Hell
Ok, this pedal is ridiculously attractive. It obviously nails the cranked Orange Dopesmoker tone, BUT... Is it a proper amp in a box? Are the lower gain tones faithful to the amp? The cranked tones and the BRUTAL art mostly put it over, but I'm curious about the overall versatility.
What makes the very best OD's is when they are more than the sum of their parts. In short the inventor just used one of 7 basic schematics that have been around for decades and gave them a twist here and there and then changed that too because his 'ear' didn't like it. When it was all done the guy liked it but he new there were many by others he liked that weren't his. Damn!!! But sometimes the gods sprinkle pixie dust on a pedal when the guy making up the prototype slipped out to refill his coffee. AND BINGO! We are all cursed with the next Tube Screamer or Klon. LOL Damned if this is not such a pedal! Do not tell me tech and logical reasons why this pedal isn't special. The damn thing oozes character. So when you get yours wipe off some of the ooze before you put it on your board. By the way the only reason for that killer green finish on the pedal is to warn you what happened in 1979 when someone picked up a different green pedal. OK one last thing. You know the routine. A guy builds the first cult classic then next year one of the parts will become obsolete and the pedal will be made using something else and we will all go nuclear! So you better scoop one up know. ...WTF I said know and you are still here???? Maybe get 2. When it goes 'Classic' you will resale it for the big bucks and you will need one for yourself.
That green wrapped amp looks great
The FET 120 as fuzzed out preamp on its own was the sound I preferred.
Hey Jason just got my FET 120 great pedal dude! Spiro from Sydney Australia
Watching from Louisiana!
Favorite pedal i've heard from you guys. Also that riff on the first act needs to be made into a song if you didn't get it from a song.
Great video Jason! I love the newest version of the Fet120! Looks and sounds fantastic. Loving the Eric Merrow Demo hat too! Take care. 🤘
Great sounds! As of older amps, it's a solid state, but I really did like those old Sunn Beta Leads, but also those old Laney Supergroups too.
I loved those too. Also they're the closest thing to vintage that I've had much real experience using.
Fuzzy and crunchy. Awesome:)
Awesome video and tones as always!! Love the sound with bass and treble at zero, almost sounds like a chainsaw HM2 tone 🤘
Just... awesome. Just the sound I'm looking for 👍
I figured I’d always be left coveting that classic Green Amp sound…until now.

One of my favorite vintage amps is a Silvertone 1484 Twin Twelve. Watching from Toronto Canada. Cheers.
Sounded best as a preamp! Running it into a dirty amp was pretty sick too though
cheers Bruce!

Sounds great. Can’t wait to give it a go.
thanks for grabbing one man!
I scored this weekend. Got one these and bagged me a Sabbathi.
nice!!!
Looks like you were having fun on Orchard.. Masterpiece....

Is the green amp available for purchase
Marshall JCM800, I'm watching from Enceladus
Awesome! Sounds fantastic
I think I liked the pedal run clean and into the dirty channel equally.. they were different but both ways sounded uniquely good
🤘😈🤘🔥🔥🔥sounds good both ways but I preferred on the clean side. It made me grab my guitar 🎸🔥🔥🔥
Sounds great as a pre amp.

Curious how this would sound with a cocked wah
I just saw the fet120 black friday offer for $99 and I missed it! shame on me ;) besides when the pedal will be back? I would like it to be available especially in France
Favorite vintage amp is the Traynor YBA-1a!
I love the Traynor amps too. I have a YGM 4 studio mate that is really rad. It's fucking loud and brilliant.
You should specify what bareknuckles and lollars. Because either of them have high and low output pickups
Details in description cheers!
One of my favourite vintage amplifiers is a Fender Tweed Bassman. I'm from Ireland.
Have you guys ever made a Matamp GT120 preamp pedal before? I've been trying to find one.
Sounded best to me as preamp, as for my favorite vintage amp... probably Ampeg V2/4, I have an early (non master volume) V2 in Boston. Not that I am in Boston, or it is currently working, but it's something. Watching from the Netherlands.

Hey Jason - ( happy mother's day!)
what boosts/ODs do
you like best to goose
the fet120?
I was wondering this as well.

Is my Mesa 50 cal + vintage?

My favourite tube amp is actually a bass amp; the Univox 1236 😮💨 shit is THICKK
Warm in there?
Fuck me those DC first acts are beautiful
Haha, I also had a Professor Shuman who taught studio recording. Been looking for a specific distortion sound, probably gonna go with the FTW120. Keep the cool shit coming Jason!

More demos to check out on TH-cam cheers!
Is that a v3?
Who made the artwork. Love his style
Steven Yoyada
Green is good.
Damn the artwork is very cool. BUT why Green? We need it in Mechanicus red to please the maschine god! All Hail the Omnissiah
Bet you're mint to have a joint with.
