Really love watching your videos, especially camping in the snow. I lost my husband and haven't been camping since, lots of good memories. So glad that you are able to do this and share. Safe travels
Oh! Gosh. U scaring me on u walk at night. But made up with the stars in the beautiful sky. Hope u and the bike r ok. Thanks for the videos. I sit just about every night watching.
I could watch your camping trips fir hours . Your camping trips would be a learning process how to camp in summer fall and winter seasons. Say hi to toby for me mike. Safe camping and GOD BLESS my friend.
Heya Kenny. Sorry late in watching your video, but man you never disapoint! The location is beautuful. You are so cute sometimes... lol when getti g those sticks you just rolled over the snow and had a huge smile on your face the whole time. Wow now that is one heck of a hunk of steak! That will be good eatin there my friend! I am glad you were ok when the bike fell. Thanks fir another great video!
Lol. You are the first to notice. I was editing and did not like how the truck was traveling in different directions across the screen. So, I reversed the image. Good catch!!
I can't believeIi haven't found your channel before today. My kind of camping. Free dispersed camping in the summer away from people and winter camping in the state parks.heres to a great year of camping ahead!.
Thanks Karen! I'm glad we have the same style! I try to show people that it's possible to work a regular Monday through Friday job and still find empty campsites on the weekends!
Thanks for taking us with you… Great video we appreciate the time and effort it takes… I think the “light” at night was tracking your Tomahawk steak… Lol…
You'd really love it here. It rarely gets warm enough after November to melt snow. I'm hoping by the end of April it will be gone, but It was -6 degrees on the way to work this morning.......im over it!
Hey Kenny, Donna and I are wrapping up our winter camping and skiing ⛷️ season this weekend in our new to us AF 811. In years past it’s always been in the luxury of a 5th wheel. We’ll we’ve made it through a lot of snow and sun zero conditions. Thanks for your videos as it has inspired us in this new truck camper experience. Your weekly videos are so fun to watch. I feel as though we are all exploring through your adventures.
It will be awhile before we see the reflection of a nice Campfire off the deep snow . Sad in a way , your peaceful videos have caused me to prefer Winter camping .
Cool looking State Park. I live in St. Ignace, Michigan which is home to Straits State Park which overlooks the 5 mile long Mackinac Bridge. It separates Lake Huron from Lake Michigan. Beautiful area if you ever get up this way.
On a few videos. Once, I had something small thrown at me. It could have been rocks. I was flying the drone just prior, so I know there was no one around anywhere. Plus, I was on a two rut trail in tall grass. There were no trees around, so it wasn't acorns dropping. In another video, I heard a super deep "Woop Woop." it wasn't very loud, but super deep. The sound vibrated in my chest. The other was the creepy voice that was somehow imprinted onto a video during editing. I can't explain any of those.
Wow, something told me you had seen or heard things before after the flash in the dark and the light going out. That can be very unsettling. Thanks for sharing that.
Steak looked phenomenal! Who knows how many more weeks you'll be camping out with snow. This winter just seems to keep dragging on but you know how to conquer it with the arctic fox.
Its almost back into the 90's here in Florida, I really enjoy you winter episodes. Really liked your suspenseful night shots, had me on the edge of my seat 😂
Lol. Thanks Charles. I was unsure of adding background music would make it sound cheesy. It was an odd phenomenon in the woods. It looked like a flash light bouncing through the trees, but it wasn't casting a beam of light. I was able to see it even though I was being blinded by my camera light. I'll have to watch a few scary TH-cam videos and see how they make their walks through the woods look interesting.
I love Savanna Portage! Camped there last summer with my sister. Went to a Bible camp every year on Big Sandy Lake. My dad grew up in Tamarack/McGregor area. Beautiful around there!
Love big Sandy! Back in the mid to late 90s my husband and my cousins played in a band and they used to play at Pier 65 on big Sandy and we would camp there every weekend at least three or four times this summer while they played. Love the McGregor area!
Best fire starter I came up with is taking a cardboard egg crate and fill each cup with wood shavings. Then fill each cup with melted wax. You can tear off one cup at a time. They light good and definitely get a fire going for sure.
Once again and as always it was a pleasure. We live in Idaho and the wife and I love your videos. No frills or phony fake story lines. We have a fifth wheel and travel from time to time. I told the wife I would like to take you fishing but she said Kenny likes being alone. I think I could talk you into it.
Wow it’s so peaceful. I would love it, I bet the stars are so bright. Love the snow. I live in Florida we rarely get a winter so watching you in all that snow is great. I just started watching you, enjoying so far.
Thanks! I try to make the videos easy to watch. I'm still learning a lot about editing. One day I'd like to learn how to use an actual camera. I just use a Gopro and try to capture multiple angles to keep things interesting. I appreciate you recognizing how much effort I put in to the videos!
Yum 🤤 that Fred Flintstone steak look scrumptdelicious…very ingenious way to cook/smoke it! Yet again, you didn’t disappoint…another great, beautiful, sincere location! When your GoPro light went out, I was waiting for one of those spooky segments Larry has done from time to time! Lol Anyways, thank you bringing us along for another fantabulous weekend and as always, stay safe out there…..
I would have LOVED for a deer to jump out or raccoon to run across the trail when i was fumbling with that light....but nope. I think it has a timer on it. I'll have to remember to cycle it off every 15 to 20 minutes. There's no other reason for it to shut off.
My brothers family nickname is Charlie horse. You used that name so I googled its meaning. He's not a pain at all lol. I love watching your videos. They are relaxing for me. Thank you.
I think your weather is about the same as ours. Just starting to think about melting. Going to have to get the "remote" park from ya. Great place to relax, and unplug! Great Video. Finally figure out what makes your videos so great. They are informative, great camera work, and you take your time, it's like telling a story. Much appreciated, sir.
Thanks! I think about that while recording, I'm glad you recognized it. I try to make the timeline of the video make sense and also shoot things so you feel like you're there with me.
When I am done cooking my bacon I wipe the grease from the pan with paper towels and putting them in a zip loc sandwich size plastic bag and tossing into the fridge. I put that at the base of my firewood and put a match to it. It lights up safely and lasts long enough to fire up the wood. First time everytime, has not let me down in years.
Love the videos, keep up the good work. Wish I had the love of snow and cold mentality you have. Last April we went camping at tequamenon state park in the UP of Michigan thinking it would be clear of snow. No snow the entire trip up ( 6+hrs from home) no snow that is until we got about 15 miles from campgrounds. Got there to find 3+ ft of snow, picnic tables covered and had to use 4wd to get to our spot. Let's just say it was supposed to be a 5 day trip that turned into an overnight trip and left that following morning.
Thanks! If you're not expecting the snow, it can be a bummer. It's harder if you don't have a good shovel, multiple pairs of socks, and all the other necessary items for dealing with the snow. Thanks for watching
That part of the steak you really like (me too) is called the ribeye cap. Some butcher shops will trim that part off and roll a couple of them together with twine. Kinda ending up looking like a filet - as tall as it is wide sort of thing. They’re awesome if you can find them. Have a good one!
Thanks Shane. We got another 6 inches of snow yesterday. But the temps have warmed up, and I think we will be in spring temperatures soon. The weather channel is calling for two more snow storms later this week. I'd be ok if it is all rain.
Loving the suspense!! You earned that steak for sure. Glad the Boogie Man didn’t get ya because I always look forward to a new video from you. Safe travels ✌🏼

I went to RecPro on-line, I got the combination locks for all my passthru doors. Works great! I set them all to the same combination. I also got the RVlock keyless lock for the entry door and set it the same.
That's a great idea. I don't think people are aware that most of their cubbies are keyed the same as everyone else. The combo looks would solve that issue.
Deep snow? Ha here in Tahoe we have high winds and snowing now with over 500 inches..will be back in your area in a few weeks visiting family great videos always
Hi Kenny that tripod were the stake haggling from I did not know but I have 1 set of them in steel thank you Kenny. For showing what s it for I kept it when I was 12 years old 😊
I also have an eBike like yours. I have never taken it on a snowy camp because it always just ICE on the roads and paths. I'd be wiping out constantly!
Kenny, I know that you usually go north but I went to a little State Park down in the west-central part of the state a few years ago in the last week of April and it was awesome! I was the only one in the whole park. Nothing was on, as far as water and electricity goes, but no problem for you. It has several small lakes within the park and it's rolling hills are kind of an anomaly for that geographical location. It's about 5 miles outside a town of less than 1000 which is right on a great spring fishing lake for crappies. Would love to see you check it out and see if you thought it was as cool as I do. 2 hours and 17 miles southwest of where I think you reside so that might give you and idea. Anyways, another great video.
I think I know exactly what park you are talking about.. I have been wanting to check it out for a few years. The rolling hills, prairie grass, and lakes look beautiful. I'll have to see when they open the campground.
I'm glad to hear you say that! A few days ago, some guy left a comment all upset. He said he couldn't understand why I leave my screw-ups in the videos. He said it's not professional, and I have no clue what im doing. I'm the type of guy who burns food, falls down, bleeds on camera multiple times, and never catches fish. That's real life! I told him to find the perfect van life couple with amazing Instagram photos if he wants the Hollywood side of TH-cam. I'm just a regular with a Gopro trying to enjoy my only two days off work.
That was a very cool way to cook a steak! A little creepy at night though. Not as creepy as the one where your audio picked up what sounded like a woman screaming and saying "Get the keys" Or something like that. That one was creepy! Thanks for a great video again. 😁
Oh my gosh, you remember that! I was gonna go back there for this video. Maybe I'll do that next week. How cool would it be to capture another voice. That was strange!
As always, love your videos! BTW, wife and I are leaving this weekend for a 2 week RV adventure ourselves. Staying in our home state of Texas, but traveling to places that we've never been (Davis Mountains SP). We'll still catch your next videos!
Nice! They are calling for more snow Thursday and Friday. Saturday is supposed to be nice, highs in the low 30's. Sunday is looking really nice with a high of 40. It should be a great weekend!
It makes sense to pick up dry dead wood from the forest floor. We have had massive forest fires started by dry timber and lighting. But, the state has not figured out how to collect revenue from people gathering downed wood.
Great video! Love the drone shots and had to laugh when you fell off your bike and rolled in the snow… Thank you for dropping me off the left over steak!!! Yum!!
I went up in the mountains northwest of Denver first time with my trailer. There was about 2 feet of snow there in April. Fun, is one word. It wasn’t bad though.
Hey Kenny….. one suggestion, a digital thermometer… I have lithium batteries and just set my camper at 40* and keep my batteries in the camper. It’s also great Spring and fall to set a minimum temp. Also you know the “real” temp inside. Great job… I don’t know if you remember me… But I have a millennial edition Bigfoot 10.3 no slide on a 98 dodge 12 valve.
Hay Phil, I remember you! You were one of the first regular commenters on the channel. The Bigfoot combined with a "98" 12 valve, what an awesome setup! That truck is turning into a unicorn up here.
Funny you call the 98 Dodge 2500 Long Bed, 5 speed, extra cab , 12 valve, a unicorn… I’ve been looking for “Spike” for about 5 years… Bought him on EBay, flew up to Portland and drove him back last August
Hi there Kenny~ its your MN neighbor! 😊 I'm still lovin your snowy camping vids! That homemade swivel with sticks from the forest is something only I think I WOULD DO 😅..LOL, good job 👏 btw..what park was this? I was guessing Pillsbury/ Pillager state forest?? Not sure. Got my ebike out today and got 17 miles! Parked the snowmobile for the season after 2100 miles 😔 oh well, summer camping is SOON HERE!!! Nice job on your door hardware! Love the winter fires you show out there. Kind of spooky tho. Be careful. Freaked me out when your flashlight went out 😮🫣
Thanks! I'm really looking forward to the warm weather. Today was so nice out. That park was Savanah Portage. I checked Pillsbury a week ago. There's have only been snowmobiles on the forest road. Maybe this week I'll try to get out there. I would boondock at the shooting range if I could get down the road.
Hello from Scotland 😊 I am a new subscriber and just love and like your videos. Your voice is so relaxing and reassuring 😊 Toby is such a cute Staffie 😍 please keep up the amazing content. Thank you 😎 I am only 7 miles from Edinburgh and wish I could explore your areas of wonders...i wonder if you found out what that flash was in the woods 🪵
Thanks Kenny for another great video. As always the drone footage is awesome! The woods looked so peaceful. I remember doing winter camping when I was young.....I loved it! That tomahawk looked really good. You had a VERY successful cooking experience! Probably old Mr Bigfoot is what you saw.....or that much snow maybe it was a Yeti? Next week's supper is on me.....enjoy!
@@KennyOfAllTrades Kenny, I love your camping style....boondocking when the weather cooperates is the best! Your empty State Parks makes for some really great winter camping for you. You are my "Go To" channel for my camping fix! I feel for you with the upcoming "Mud Season"....I hate mud!
The vault toilets are a godsend at Mn state parks Also, I looked into renting one of the camper cabins at one of the state parks. You can not cook in them you have to cook outside. But they are super reasonable for rent prices! And some of them are really nice. The ones over at carlos state Park are pretty decent.
That's good to know. I'll have to look into prices. The vaults are nice to have. I even dump my dirty dish water and coffee in them. It's better than dumping them on the ground where it freezes I place until spring.
@@KennyOfAllTrades I totally agree! Dumping that stuff to let it freeze on the ground and then spring comes in and gets pretty nasty lol I have a porta potty that I use in my minivan camper and I just take the cassette and dump it in the vault after it’s so much easier
I'm not sure. It's ok on forestry land. It's ok in the State Parks, but only if you are in a backpack site. If you stay in the regular sites, they enforce a rule that you can only burn wood that has been approved by the state. Fortunately, they have an abundance of approved firewood for sale at the ranger station. So for a fee you can have a nice little fire.
Provincial and federal parks, n geez I don’t know any place in canada including calgary city parks, no burning downed trees etc. They say because the natural disintegration of the wood does a lot of good for the natural eco system. 🍻
I winter camp here but winter camping in Arizona, Even in the central highlands at 4500 ft elevation where I live, is a far cry from winter camping in ANY part of Minnesota!
I've had a few folks recognize the camper while out exploring. It's fun talking with people who enjoy the videos. If you ever see me out here, make sure to say hi.
I notice you have a strap to your slide out. Can you comment of the slide and off pavement driving. I have the same set up and was thinking of adding some of restraint to take off the lateral pressure off the cogs on the slide.
That's exactly why I did i, just to take off the strain. I wasn't having issues before adding the strap, and I have not noticed any negative side effects from it being there.
The key to Kenny is he's not aware of a camera. Instead, he's talking directly to us like we were with him. It's a real skill to be that comfortable
Oh how I love winter camping. Awesome steak!! Peace and serenity.

Awesome! Savanna Portage, I was up there in February and had the place to myself as well!
The Ranger said it stays pretty quiet. It's not too far from me, so i might be back again if this snow doesn't melt soon.
Enjoyed the video, hope you are doing well. Missed you video last week. Heading out for camping this weekend to the mountains.
I'm doing good. I'll have to start thinking about next weeks video soon. Going into the mountains sounds like a great idea. Have fun and be safe!
@@KennyOfAllTrades thanks, going to do a couple of harvest hosts. A farm on Friday night and a brewery on Saturday night.
That's sounds really relaxing!
Hi Kenny that tripod were the stake haggling from I did not know but I have 1 set of them in steel thank you Kenny. For showing what s it for I kept it when I was 12 years old 😊
Sasquatch might have been watching lol
I also have an eBike like yours. I have never taken it on a snowy camp because it always just ICE on the roads and paths. I'd be wiping out constantly!
Kenny,
I know that you usually go north but I went to a little State Park down in the west-central part of the state a few years ago in the last week of April and it was awesome!
Never seen someone so happy to be waist deep in snow lol
Lol Thanks 😊
Oh my goodness great video, the stake looks yummy. Have you see Bigfoot 😂
Not yet. But I'm keeping my eyes open.
The wife kept saying..... "I am waiting for an animal to come steal his steak from the campfire"
I'm waiting for the same! Lol
Ha Ha! That's exactly what I was thinking! 😁
I love that you don't edit out your Fups!
I'm just a regular with a Gopro trying to enjoy my only two days off work.
nice looing Steak 😋
Thanks Steve!
@@KennyOfAllTrades It would be cool and sort of creepy if you did pick up more voices! The haunted camp spot! LOL. You should totally go there.
@@KennyOfAllTrades still insisting it was that “uber Eats” commercial, lol 🍻
As always, love your videos! BTW, wife and I are leaving this weekend for a 2 week RV adventure ourselves. Staying in our home state of Texas, but traveling to places that we've never been (Davis Mountains SP). We'll still catch your next videos!
Have fun and safe travels!
At least there was soft snow to bail into!
Gonna head up north this weekend!
Nice! They are calling for more snow Thursday and Friday. Saturday is supposed to be nice, highs in the low 30's. Sunday is looking really nice with a high of 40. It should be a great weekend!
Thanks, Kenny 🎉
I’m surprised that MN doesn’t allow you to burn downed dead wood. Now I know why you always have purchased firewood . Great video and great work !
It makes sense to pick up dry dead wood from the forest floor. We have had massive forest fires started by dry timber and lighting. But, the state has not figured out how to collect revenue from people gathering downed wood.
What the state doesn’t know doesn’t hurt them. Remote camp sites are free of state “ wood police “
Thanks!
Thank you very much Bary! I really appreciate your support! It definitely helps the channel.
Great video! Love the drone shots and had to laugh when you fell off your bike and rolled in the snow… Thank you for dropping me off the left over steak!!! Yum!!
Thanks Babe!
When he went down, all I could think about was the Life Alert commercials…Help, I’ve fallen and can’t get up! Lol 😝
Mike, I might have to get him a life alert. 😂
Hay now!
@@mandib757 😂 😂
We could always start a Go Fund Me 😝
Great video, taste looks steak
Thanks!
Yeah that steak sure does look good besafe kenny
@Kenny Of All Trades I'll look forward to seeing you camping there!! Thanks Kenny!! 😊
Need to roast some rice crispy treat on the fire or get a pie iron and make cherry or blueberry pies on that fire.!
Rice crispy treats over the fire is a new one for me. It sounds amazing! I'm gonna try that for sure.
@@KennyOfAllTrades brown the rice krispy treats like a marshmallow and enjoy. Let me know what you think or comment in a vid. I watch them all!
@Todd Ramsay I'll definitely try it. You just might see it I a video.
Be Kind. Be Honest. Great advice for this younger generation. Too bad 75% of them won’t listen. Anywho at least we tried right Kenny ?
Try a mouthful of Mustard for those Charlie horse and cramps. My gf uses horseradish. Good luck
That is awesome! Thank you Richard, I really appreciate all your support for the channel!
I think I will be saving up for some traction boards. I'll try to avoid another incident like last spring!
@@KennyOfAllTrades That is awesome Kenny. I think that's a great idea....especially with the mud season approaching.
If you're willing to share the state park in this video, I would sure appreciate it. My family of 11 camp frequently in MN. Thanks. Great videos.
Me too 🏴😊
You are sure a brave man. I don't know how you do it
Lol. Thanks Tobi!
@@KennyOfAllTrades 😁😉
i was hoping he discovers a dead body plowing the snow for some real mystery adventure
A mystery adventure sounds fun, as long as I'm not the one rolling a body under the plow.
Kenny I bought a tri-pod grill at wally world and use it all the time. Most of those locks use the same key so really they are never secure.
That is 100% true!
I want to go fishing this fall in September. Know of any good places to stay ? Love all of your videos. Thanks for sharing. 🇺🇸🙏
All my videos from last summer proved there are no fish in any of these lakes up here.
But depending on where you're headed, I might be able to give a few suggestions. You can reach out through email. Kennyofalltradeschannel@gmail.com
@@KennyOfAllTrades 🤣😂….🫢 oops, u weren’t being serious eh? 😉🍻
The vault toilets are a godsend at Mn state parks
Also, I looked into renting one of the camper cabins at one of the state parks.
Dumping that stuff to let it freeze on the ground and then spring comes in and gets pretty nasty lol
I have a porta potty that I use in my minivan camper and I just take the cassette and dump it in the vault after it’s so much easier
@@CharityS-Minnesota that's an awesome idea
Wow, that steak made my mouth water! What is the reason MN restricts burning downed wood?
I'm not sure. It's ok on forestry land. It's ok in the State Parks, but only if you are in a backpack site.
If you stay in the regular sites, they enforce a rule that you can only burn wood that has been approved by the state. Fortunately, they have an abundance of approved firewood for sale at the ranger station. So for a fee you can have a nice little fire.
Provincial and federal parks, n geez I don’t know any place in canada including calgary city parks, no burning downed trees etc. They say because the natural disintegration of the wood does a lot of good for the natural eco system. 🍻
Congrats on a successfully cooked steak! Looked delicious! Did you season it?
Yes. I use salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. That's my go-to seasoning for all my steaks.
Holy Buckets
Thank you for helping to keep my Wisconsin family in my mind with every video Kenny.
Thank You Kenny for making such cool relaxing video’s. You are inspiring so many of us to simply go outside. Love your content.
I really appreciate the comments
I winter camp here but winter camping in Arizona, Even in the central highlands at 4500 ft elevation where I live, is a far cry from winter camping in ANY part of Minnesota!
Hope to some day meet you I live in Florida I have relatives up your way
I've had a few folks recognize the camper while out exploring. It's fun talking with people who enjoy the videos. If you ever see me out here, make sure to say hi.
Hello Kenny, I'm currently in Minneapolis teaching a class for public safety this week. It is COLD here.
Hay Bryan, it has been cold. Today we had a bust of snow come through. For a few hours, it was really coming down. I'm soooo over it!
