There it is! Project Teacup in the flesh (or uh, pages? you know what I mean.) You're not an imposter Christy. Heck, you've self published a book and are willing to see your goals through. It takes a lot of mental fortitude to do that. Hope all goes well! And whoever is reading this, have a great day!
@@christy-anne-jones hi Christy my names Emily Poole and im also writing a adult Fantasy romance fanfiction at moment I code named it Project Witcher. ❤😊 x
As an aspiring writer, I am in awe of watching your process and seeing you so focused and excited about this project! Definitely gives me that little push to keep going with my own writing 🙂
I needed a break from math, so I took it - only to see in my notification bar some words from Christy’s channel. I am supposed to get back to math after this video, but God, all I want to do is WRITE ALONG WITH CHRISTY.
These videos are so helpful because it helps fellow authors realize we are all having similar experiences and aren’t alone Writing fantasy to be under 100k is such a challenge! I had an agent tell me she would consider looking at fantasy at 125k but I’m still trying to get it lower to open it up to more agents.
It's really tricky but from what I've heard, it's essential for commercial fantasy to around 100k! Epic fantasy tends to go a lot higher, of course. I think if I indulged too much and let this have the word count I'd actually want (120k+) it would definitely never get published hahaha 😅 best of luck with your writing and editing 💛💛
I really love seeing other peoples' writing processes! I have been DYING to make more writing vlogs, and you've inspired me to get into it as I revise a book I started last year; this was so fun to watch, and it's so exciting to come with you on your journey toward publishing.
I hope your project Teacup is going well, but by the looks of it in this video, it's going well and I'm glad you got another vlog on it up! This is WHY Sundays seems to be my favorite day, because of your videos and I listen to you while I'm working on my book. Hope you have a great day! My favourite Studio Ghibli movie is When Marine was There, Spirit Away, Tale of Princess Kaguya and the Cat Returns.
About minute 14 or so you do the most WONDERFUL explanation without using specifics. To dumb it down it was like "I need to move the thing from here to over there. Then move that thing from there to before there and then I need to restructure and work on the overall thing." I was SOOOO amused by your actual description. Your book must be amazing!!! ❤
I'd love to see how you get over writing slumps. I'm in the phase where I think I'm an idiot for even trying to write a book, so I'm looking for ways to get over this mindset and how to get stuck back into writing.
That's just imposter syndrome. I also often think I'm an idiot for trying 😅 I think the most important thing to remember is: just because it's difficult, doesn't mean you're bad at it. It just means it's difficult. Loads of people publish novels. You don't need a certain background or education. There's no reason it can't be you. Plus, one of my favourite things I do is give myself permission to write the "shit draft"--i know the first draft will be bad. I KNOW it'll have cliches and bits that need to be fixed. That's okay--that's what revising is for. Headspace and low confidence are such tricky things to work through but I absolutely understand what you're going though. Best of luck with your writing 💛💛
christy one thing i want to tell you i love your videos so much....i keep waiting for your videos ....and i am obsessed with your thumbnail...i cant help keep staring at them...they are so asthetic, cozy....i can't explain in words.....keep making videos...
This is so impressive! It’s really interesting to see how you break down doing a creative project like this into manageable chunks. I would absolutely love a video about how you experience imposter syndrome and if there is anything you do that you have found helps to combat it.
These videos are amazing! They have inspired me to start writing about my mental health which has been the greatest form of medication. Thank you and keep up the great work!
Honestly, I really love your Project Teacup vlogs-it makes me feel like I'm not alone and also that we're having similar experiences. It also shows how passionate you are about this book.
Absolutely loving your vlogs. I find them really inspiring and soothing in a really weird way, if that's intentional on your part good on you. I am completely new to writing, I kinda feel I have it in me and want to create something and your vlogs are definitely spuring me along.
Christy, every time I see you making a cup of tea I make one for myself too, lol ! Thank you, this video is a gem, it's so inspiring to see you putting such energy and effort into your writing project! I also really liked how you organize your writing project, to be able to see the whole with spreadsheets, and the time organization with Notion (so happy for you with this sponsorship, I love Notion too). I wrote my dissertation last year, and it was 300 pages. I wish I had seen it before I finished the dissertation. But now I am revising/editing it to submit the final version, and I will try to do something similar. So, I would really appreciate it if you could talk a little bit more about how you organize your time and the text as a whole.
I love your organization. I may try notion. I have so much for each novel I write to keep straight. I have binders of "book bibles" I call compendiums for each book I have done. I am also a nerdy girl who adds pictures of what I think my characters look like and devise magical laws, races, rules, character bios, chapter outlines, main story layout, what world is like, religions, countries, government, trade. (I write fantasy novels too). Good luck with your magical teacup project! I know the stress involved. I love how smooth your organization is. Mine is controlled chaos.
There. Back now. Loved your Neil Gaiman vlog. Such excellent ideas. I'm working on finishing my first draft. Although I had the requisite number of words I did not have an ending. I'm writing it by hand and trying the writing or nothing idea. So instead of muffing around doing all sorts of delightful thingies like synopses and beat sheets I gave myself March to finish the ending. Then I'll finish a proper first draft, do beat sheets and go into a proper revision. Like you I love revising. My process seems so chaotic and backwards but I'm going to trust it because my last book was traditionally published. Woo-hoo! I do want to tell you that publishers don't mind you sharing the name and idea of it because it means you've already started generating interest in it. A win-win. Anywhoozie you share great stuff so thank you.
it’s Sunday morning and I’ve just finished watching this video and now I’m ready to go work on my screenplay. Thank you, Christy, for making such inspiring, motivating, cozy content!!! ✨✨🧡
Hey Christy! I was wondering if in a video you could try to breakdown rewriting/ how you’re going about it in sections of project teacup? Rewrites and reworking is the next big thing I need to get through with my novel and as excited as I am, I feel as though I may be in over my head. Love your videos❤️
Thank you, Christy, for your amazing and cozy content. I specially enjoy your writing vlogs not as a writer myself but as a translator, i feel very inspired by you. I send you a big hug from Argentina :)
You are doing a great job. A manuscript is not a book, it’s a work in progress that needs constant refinement. You will know when it’s done and I’m sure it will be great, seeing the amount of time and care you pour into it. My process resembles yours a lot, by the way. I can totally relate to having to all my brainstorming on paper. Good luck!
The most interesting thing about you is you're really enjoying the activities that you have done. I wish I could I have same attitude. Thanks for the video
I'd love for you to talk about character creation and how you go about fleshing out characters and make them come to life. I find that stuff so interesting!! Lovely video btw ^^
I feel this. I'm editing my fantasy novel but I've had a lot of people look at it already. And I spontaneously decided to send a query and some sample pages to an agent. I doubt it'll go anywhere but it's something to work toward while I finish my edits (I have to turn it in soon since it's also my graduate thesis). Good luck with your draft!
I’m getting ready to start draft three of my wip as well and this helped calm me and inspire!!! thank you for these amazing videos all of the time, you are appreciated!!
I loved this video! I think something I want to hear your thoughts on is what you do when you feel parts of (or all of, like me) your story is dragging on and there isn’t enough excitement or attention-grabbing. I love a slower paced story but I worry that it is TOO slow paced. How do you include everything you want while not shooting yourself in the foot while pacing? This has had me in a writing slump for months 😅
Im a little late to watching but have binged the videos up to this point. I watch while I am doing my own writing kinda like bodydoubling. Your videos are amazing and I can not wait to see the book. You are really inspiering Christy thank you for the amazing videos I always look forward to your new uploads
Every time I see your Notion pages I feel like I don't know a half of its functions 😅 But for me it's great for actually writing a novel, I have all of my digital notes there, and my draft 2 is also there :)
So happy to see another Project Teacup update! Thank you so much for sharing the writing process. These videos really motivate me to work on my own project❤
When I saw the cover of your printed manuscript I had to pause the vlog and make myself a cup of tea haha. Love your videos so much, you have the most soothing voice!
I recently rediscovered your channel and I currently love watching your videos! You have such a positive but calming vibe 🧡 I would love to see a video about your editing process or tips for editing from you. That's the part of writing I feel like I struggle with most because I have no clue how to go about it in a structured way 😅
Amazing! Are you going to do a tutorial on how you outline your book Christy? Or maybe do you have a template of the excel planner sheet (if you do, that would be nice!)?
I could just listen to your content endlessly! Already downloaded your template, and will try it out although I am a huge Bullet Journal user myself 😊 I would love to hear more about your review approach and your amazing Excel spread sheet! And need it asap for my own project😅 thank you!!
Congrats🖤. Between uni and a general lack of motivation, I am trudging through draft 2 and only did 30k words even though it took me a year for draft 1 which was 170k🥲😂
Hey Christy, I'm interested in seeing your research process. Where do you do you start and how do you know when to stop etc. Would love to see that kinda video please. :))☺️💛
Hi! This video was great, I cant wait for more project teacup updates! If you want to, it woud be very interesting for me to hear your take on writing despite imposter syndrome. I start, stay consistent for a couple weeks and then stop, mostly doubting its good enough to be written, even if it is only for myself (the fact that I know I would want to show it to someone, even if they are friends, makes me terrified of their "judgement" and makes everything worse). Thanks in advance!

Love this editing set up! If I could offer one piece of advice it would be to get some beta readers or critique partners that aren't anyone you know irl (e.g family or friends) who can give good feedback from a completely unbiased POV. Was life changing for my writing!

Really liked the music you picked for this video!
I adored the "spreadsheet nerd" section, because that is SO me, lol
I feel the same way about only doing worldbuilding/brainstorming by hand and writing on the computer!

Suscribed! What a great video thank ypu so much for sharing these parts of your journey because i feel less alone
Absolutely love your hair in this vid. The front fringe looks fantastic on you, you've got the perfect face shape to pull it off!
so excited to see this video!! project teacup is going to be great

You inspire me to take up my writing again!!
Christy, I love how you have such a nice desk set up but you are doing all your work sitting on the floor...I do the same thing, lol, I feel so seen 😂
New subscriber here! I’ve been binging your videos and they’ve been really getting me motivated to get organized and create a writing routine. I love notion! it's so fun
My me time sunday, love your videos.
you're so inspiiring I love youu
Side note- you are seriously so pretty ❤
Thank you for sharing this info about Notions - it looks really cool! I loved this video -- brava! As far as future videos, I've always been curious about what program you use to write. I was juuust coming to your page to watch a writing blog 😂😅
Thank you so much for the video!
I'd love to learn more about the editting process. How much do you edit after each draft, and which parts do you focus on at each stage of the editting. Thank you 💓
I asked how to organize my novel so many times in my MFA program. You just answered it with your spreadsheet…
love from india ❤❤ tamilnadu .. recently i followed your videos it's very useful and gave me lot of happiness.. ❤❤❤
For suggestions, can you tell us how you line edit? Also how do you come to terms with a book not being good enough to publish?
suggestions on how to get your work published and how to get this process started? I've always wanted to be a writer and love writing poetry and want to make this dream come true
I will read project teacup! You have to publish it
I loved this! Quick question - where/how did you print draft 2 and how did you make it into a booklet?
I went to Officeworks! (not sure if you're in Australia or not, but they're an office supply store with a printing area and they offer binding as a service)
Hello! I hope you're doing well 🙂 I was wondering what notebook you are using for your notes currently? I prefer to write my hand for many of my writing projects and I'm just curious what you are using? Hope you have a great day!
what type of tea are you drinking? Have you ever tried a writing poetry challenge?
I am also interested in writing a novel; I have quite a few stories I would like to tell the world. I would like to know what that the process you went through through to write the story and edit it, without going into details into the plot I know the story hasn't been published. what lipstick are you wearing in the start of the video? suits you so well!!
Thank you! I have it linked in the description 😊💛
What’s your favorite writing software?
Ear Piercings tour and healing tips ??
which app did you use to write? Is it fine hoping to write with no experiences? Is it mandatory to write blogs before you start writing or work for it?

Hey, do you have any advice for finding a publisher and writing a novel in the genre fiction?
Can we get a week of what I eat, Ik u did a Patreon one but one for YT plz
That thing you used to prop up the draft in the first 5 minutes of the video, it's like a wood easel.. where did you get it?
amzn.to/41m7zoz 😊
14:30 Hello, is this Scrivener? Looking nice and complex. :)
Hiya! What is the name of the font you use in the "Draft Two" title? :D
Hello Anne!
I wanna see myself as a good writer in my futuristic eye. If you would give me only a single piece of advice, what would that be?
I saw someone use the term "word vomit" to refer to their first draft. Horrible term but I suppose it's accurate 😅
Very nice sharinh my friend. Full support from Morocco ❤🌹👍
How did you get the binding done?
Why did you decided to choose to name your project Project Teacup?
What kind of pen do you use? 😊
