Definitely do dumbbell bench press with neutral grip if you have any shoulder impingment or rotator cuff issues. You work the chest just as well and without as much stress on that shoulder joint.
For all the young bucks out there, please take Hoss' technique advice on these lifts to heart. There is nothing worse than some nagging shoulder and pec issues. It will effect everything. Appreciate you, Fouad!
I agree 1000%....I have a shoulder injury and you will be surprised at the simple things aside from doing certain exercises that will become impossible with a shoulder injury!!
You sir, talk a whole lot of sense. Hard to notice trainers these days as the Internet is so saturated. But you sir are good at what you do. Credit where its due.
I've had these weights for more than 8 years. I dropped them several times throughout the years and they are still intact. These are a high quality product and I am still very pleased with this purchase.
I love the raw nature of Fouad's videos.. a little background music, but not all cuts and edits. Just a style I like.. not trying to slam the great cutters/editors.
Still find myself coming back to the OG videos when I feel like my training is incomplete for some reference. Hoss been a huge building tool since I graduated high school. Still rockin w hostile now 21
People sleeping on smith incline. Its probably the most underrated chest machine. And flat barbell is the most overrated. I do incline smith bench, and flat dumbbell bench rather than flat barbell.
The banded flyes is genius. I love flyes but always have trouble keeping tension at the top. Will definitely give this a try on my next chest work out! Thank you for all the excellent content
always appreciate the wisdom and knowledge you drop man ...... i have rehabbed my own shoulder impingement over the last 18 months - there was no way i was going in for surgery .... just continued to feel the movements .. listened to my body ( at one point benching the bar was too much ) ... but over time and using consistent info like you are showing the results are amazing .... but it took time - thanks again Hoss ... you have been killin it these past few weeks - keep it real man -
Sounds like my story. Now after rehabing myself I'm lifting more than I ever have. Took a long time, also lowered my volume a lot as I was over training
@@bruceybrew Awesome Bruce ... i had to continue to think outside the box and find alternate ways to target the muscle groups ... the time and the knowledge have made me a more complete lifter - gaining knowledge from Hoss and others like him is priceless -
Thanks for the tip on flat bench and the bands . After watching this I have now changed my routine. Definitely was doing some stuff wrong . Much appreciated for the time you give to put out great content ✌️

That was a great video, like the tips on everything you did, 1st time watching your video, as i watch alot of other bodybuilders too but i really enjoyed it. your awesome !!!! Defenitly going to try your workout!!
This is great and fouad helps a ton, another channel to help like this but get into good detail and talk about a wide range of stuff is called “gravity transformation” you should watch them and fouad.
I tried it today and it all seems so logic but i always had shoulderpain. It stopped earlier with the descent and for the first time i have no shoulder pain after training chest. Thanks Fouad!
I’m 5 months out from my tricep tendon surgery. Still not moving heavy weight yet and have some uncomfortable minor pain at full extension. When I heard you were 4 months out, I was like 😵
On EMG studies, it shows that decline dumbell and decline barbell press have the highest pec activation of any exercise for the chest. Same for the wide grip leaning forward dip. When powerlifters arch their back on the flat bench, basically they are changing the movement to a decline press to recruit more pec, so you might as well just do decline.
Great content from Fouad as usual. The basic compounds with good form always deliver results ! What a quick comeback from the Tricep tear ! Bless your health and great demeanor. Big shot out for all the Diet tips in the kitchen too ( you’re a hell of a Chef ) , found my abs by following your meal plans ! The banded DB flys look challenging, I’ll definitely try it .
Really good advice, i subscribed to your channel thanks to this video. What i miss though is the degree angle of your "use the first peg" explanation. At my gym we have different benches. They start at 15°, second is 20° and 3rd is 30°. I assume you ment 30° with your "first peg"? Best regards
So here’s a comment for you I’m 22 years old about 6’2 and 175 pounds I’ve been lifting since I was 16 I got serious into lifting around I would say 19 and I’ve watched probably over 200 hours of work out videos and done programs tried every workout split and tried almost every diet and I can’t seem to gain more than 2-4 pounds of muscle a year I’ve probably gone up 40 pounds on the bench press in four years of working out serious and really could use some advice because I watch all these people around me get bigger and stronger and they put in 20% of the work I do... and I wouldn’t consider myself a hard gainer or really skinny fat I’m kind of in an in between I’m very skinny but I don’t have a flat stomach of abs but I’m not that chubby I would say I’m in the middle. I would say I’m about 12 to 15% body fat but I’m not 100% positive. So I don’t know what to do anymore it’s really discouraging I definitely don’t want to do steroids and it just seems like I’m genetically F’d.
Guys also notice that even when he says he doesn't feel the need to touch his chest on heavy sets, he doesn't go half way down he's like a half inch away not 4 or 5
At the end of the day, there's only so much you can gain from a particular weight. However you can use various intensity techniques to get way more from the weight than you normally would with vanilla reps at 8-12.
In the workout recap... are all the sets listed working sets or do you include warms ups. Just wondering because 4-5 sets per exercise seems like a lot of working sets total. Are you doing more volume in your training now or have you always pushed volume high when training?
Pre exhaust that shit!!! I like doin that for exercise like flat bench myself closer to the middle to end ot the workout as well then u can get the most from the movement without having to increase the weight too much which is safer too!!! Like ur thinkin fouad :D
I'm an avid bodybuilder and just found out I need angioplasty surgery. Any lifters have any experience with this?? Will this affect my future in bodybuilding?
I really appreciate this advice in regards to keeping your shoulders, other joints, and muscles safe and healthy while working out.
