I'm really bad at baking bread, and I didn't knead it properly so it got all sticky, and i thought for sure I'd ruined it, but it just came out of the oven and it's actually SO GOOD! I baked it in a cast iron pan since I don't have a steamer lol. Def gonna keep this recipe around! Thank you Helly 💖💖

    If you have a stand mixer with a dough hook you can do the making the dough part by mixing it on slow for about 2 mins and medium/fast for about 2-3 mins and do the same process after adding the butter.
    Reason for adding the butter after the first procedure is because when dough contains fat (butter, shortening or oil) and it is more than 8-10% of the flour it will have an effect on the gluten bond; which will make the dough not as springy and you will get a flat bread.

    In Poland this type of bread is called pampuchy, but we don't bake it, just steam it and treat it as they were big, yeast noodles. Pampuchy may be eaten in various ways, as sweets with sour cream and sugar or with cooked fruits like cherries, or as savoury dish, with roasted pork and gravy.

    In Yemen where my family are from, this is called kubaneh. Only we have a special air tight round baking tin and it cooks in its own steam but inside the oven. The only difference is the color, the oven gives it that golden brown outer crust. But method and texture is the same otherwise. I ❤️ this bread so much! Reminds me of my childhood. We eat dipped in sour cream or with a Yemenite version of salsa. It's truly as mouth watering as it looks and totally worth making! Thanks for sharing ☺️

    We do not have this model in Iran. Our breads have many models, one of which is lavash bread, which is thin, wide, thin and long bread, which has excellent learning, and we have a bread called baghsam, which is similar to this bread. Who has left his education, your friend Iran 🇮🇷 😘😇

    I've been making bread like this for years. I melt the butter into the hot milk. It saves a step and it turns out amazing. Is there a reason you work the butter into the dough at the end? I make my dough into dinner rolls and bake them.

    • @lucianocg8392
      @lucianocg8392 2 ปีที่แล้ว +60

      Using melted butter creates a denser chewier bread wich can be good, but if you want cakiness and fluffiness the softened butter is better as it holds the structure of the bread better as it rises.
