- Radiohead, at Glastonbury Festival in 2003, playing "Talk Show Host".
By 2003 most people had accepted the idea that it was no longer possible to crash the festival and hence it is recognised as one of the most successful years to date. The number of tickets available to the public was increased slightly over 2002, partially in response to criticism that the 2002 festival was underpopulated and lacked atmosphere. The tickets sold out within one day of going on sale, in marked contrast to the two months it took to sell a similar number in 2002. It was also the first year that tickets sold out before the full lineup was announced.
This was also the year Radiohead returned to headline the Pyramid Stage.
Revenue raised for good causes from ticket and commercial licence sales topped £1 million, half of which went to Oxfam, Greenpeace and Water Aid.
Radiohead: the band whose B-sides are a million times better than most band's A-sides.

@@tomjames8493 the masterplan is oasis’s greatest song in my opinion. Shame how it was never an A side
To me, this is Radiohead’s sexiest song.
I have always said this is Radiohead’s sexiest song
Did you read my mind with this thread? 🔥🔥🔥
@@jandcstopmotion7774 look at the lyrics
You want me
Fucking well, come and find me
I'll be waiting
With a gun and a pack of sandwiches and nothing. I think we're all understand what's meaning "gun"))))))
I Might Be Wrong would like a word
separator tho
this might be their best performance of this song
Considering they didn't perform this much ( 😭) I'm nt surprised. Even their performance of this at Glastonbury 1997 which was more recent to the song wasn't as good as this. You would presume after 8 years they would have forgotten it but it was like they had just written it in the studio that's a testament man Radiohead are just awesome period. This was their best performance (Glastonbury 2003 altogether) ever. Every song was magical. This one even more so. The amount of times I have played this song goes beyond reason 😂😍😍😍
all glas was the best of they
Yesss
I think it is
Rad 🤘🏼
The entire Radiohead Glastonbury 2003 show is top notch. All songs are performed amazing, the crowd looks enthralled, Thom looks happy(WTF Thom happy?), and Street Spirit is the best song ever to close with. Closest you can get to a perfect show. I watch it at least once a year and it continues to make me smile.
Agreed! They ended their show in LA this year with Street Spirit...it was a magical moment. Also, every song they played was top notch. ❤
So jealous, wish I was there. Glad you had a great time and got Street Spirit!
Street Spirit is undoubtedly the best song of all time, just too magical and beautiful and meaningful.
I agree the entire set is phenomenal. Radiohead is the greatest live show I've seen, and thats in comparison to the likes of TOOL, Chevelle, and other greats bands. Thom has said playing Street Spirit totally drains him because of the emotional toll the song takes on him. He said the song is so dark he doesnt understand how the audience stands and smiles thru the whole thing. Its like they dont get the meaning of it. Going on to say he didnt write the song as he could NEVER write something so hopeless and full of despair. Claiming the band were only 'its catalysts'.
DoctorGonzo41 completely agree cheers
Phil is metronomic. That’s insanely good drumming
“With a gun and a pack of sandwiches and nothing...”
at times i think that this is their best song.
certainly live it's divine.
One of the best rock-bands of all time...
The best in my eyes
Ever listened to Led Zeppelin?

I'm so chuffed to say that I was there about 10 rows from the front of the stage. I can reassure you it was as awesome as you think it was.
F*cking A!

Hands down the greatest Radiohead song. This will always be at the top of my list.
Always?
easily one of my favourite radiohead songs
Legitimately inquiring, is Phil man or machine?
1:58 phil blows my fucking mind every time

Taking my little brother for his 18th birthday to his first Glastonbury and seeing these our favourite band was incredibly special
You are a good brother.
Guitar and the voice of Tom is just so... fuckin' awesome....
Gods of rock the entire band. Even Colin, I feel he's an underrated bassist mainly due to the fact his basslines can get easily lost in all the sounds most of their songs generate
ImmaStranger completely agree
Colin and Phil together are one totally in sync rhythm section
The bass often gets lost with people, but remove it and suddenly everything sounds lost.
ImmaStranger Agreed... he plays some of the coolest bass lines, but even his simpler ones fit perfectly and are impeccably delivered. Thom and Jonny may get most of the attention and get touted as the musical geniuses of the band (not disputing that they are geniuses) but Radiohead just wouldn’t be Radiohead without Ed, Colin and Phil, who I’d say are geniuses in their own rights.
"Even Colin" savage
phil's drumming is ace
Ha, "thiforthepeoleinthtentssssssssss." I love that man.
man of the people
“You want me? Fucking come on and break the.. tent door down”
I haven't heard this song in years, it takes me back to high school.
Absolutely intense emotion, has a chilling effect, and pristine musicality. Leaves me with a chill down my back and an adrenaline rush.
Absolutely love the drums in here🥰🤩
"You want me, well, come on and break the door down"
The people who got to see this live are sooooo lucky and I am so jealous!
This version is just 10000/10
Nothing beats the way they used to perform this song. In my opinion, the wall of noise they make at the end is way better than the new looped solo outro, which is still amazing.
this song should have been on a real album because it took me a while to finally hear it
I feel like the song could’ve fit into amnesiac, imagine it instead of hunting bears. Also they use that filter sweep/pad thing all over amnesiac anyways
this song is so ahead of its time i feel
That's some funky shit Ed's doing with his guitar...
Shiver down my spine - glasto 2003....amazing!!!!!!
Floating on the surface for the birds. Radiohead are the best band ever.
Thom is so cute 🥺
Love thom's dancing lol
wow yeah they sound so good live holy crap its like studio
GOD...WHY are they so good?!
Best version I've come across.
I am grateful to be in the same generation as Radiohead then again arent we all??
even better than the album version, love it!
Album?
@@dude6658 it was never on an official album, it's just a B-side. Pretty sure it's on Street Spirit (Fade Out). A slightly different mix of the song is on the Romeo + Juliet soundtrack from the 90s which is were I first became aware of the song

I don't consider myself a fan because I only know a couple of albums from Radiohead, but I respect them a lot, and this song is just crazy I can't stop listening to it
Saw this the same year in Newcastle, it is perfection.
I'm going through a rough time right now and this song popped into my head. I happened to click this video since I've never heard it live. For some reason I feel so happy right now. Power or music man ❤🎶
look how young Thom looks here
I’ve always skipped over this song then I played it last night. Now I can’t stop listening to it!!
Radiohead is the greatest band
if i could just bring back time and watch this concert... i will a thousand times 💞
just awesome so pure. so rude one of my favs
The guards who stand in the front of the stage have such a great job.
Why then, O brawling love, O loving hate, O anything of nothing first create, heavy lightness, serious vanity, mishapen chaos of well seeming forms.

One of my all time favorite songs. Love Radiohead
Just so nice! This song is really awesome!!!
I was at this Glastonbury and glad I got to see in my opinion, the best live performance ever.
best band ever!!
Love love this!!!
I was not ready for this... its amazing, good thing Thom was lol
I have goosebumps.
LOL, this was made in the "Bends" era? I always thought it was produced around the time of Hail To The Thief or something, it sounds so fresh...
It was around OK Computer time.
it's on a b-side of the bends, which is the Street Spirit (Fade Out) CD 1
Never get bored.
Floating upon the surface for
The birds
... TIMELESS ...
I'm ready.
Johnny just fucking destroys everything at the end.
This song takes me back to the 90s...I was a kid and listened to it 1000 times...super cool song
This song is on a whole another level
@lufc550
It's also on the special edition of "The Bends" that EMI put out a while back, along with all the other Bends-era B-sides. A tremendous package of a classic album.
This almost always makes me cry
Arguably the best song ever
omg to be able to see this live 😍😍😍😍
I wanna go back...
Oh, my God, just how great they are!!!
this song much more better live than record
"I see the people in tents.. 🏕🏕 Can you hear us?"
Best song ever

The Bends B Sides
So. Much. Yes. ❤
God this performance is fantastic
No, for the people in the tents...at the festival. Hence, "can you hear us?"
xD You Should Listen to it more.. there's a lot of songs of RH that are just masterpieces
Romeo an Juliet entered the chat..
I have goosepimples on my bumps
I remember this song thom forgot in lyrics in 1998 at toronto .
Real Pure Magic 🔥
...gotta be the tightest I've seen them play ever...the drums are ridiculous!!
I love you, Tom!!
I first herd this in Romeo and Juliet. Didn’t know the name until I was 14
When did you watch the movie man! At 5?
@@nnx1111 I actually found it in a box of vhs tapes and thought it was a different movie. I was six. EDIT: became my 2nd favorite movie.
@@coltrain4721 I was close!
GODS
I fuckin love this song.
How is it possible that Thom looked way younger in 2003 then he did during The Bends/Ok Computer/ Amnesiac??? He looks so different...
Cus he dances a lot in 2003
He was in great health and in his prime of life (early 30s). 20s were unhealthy.
I love this version too! There was another one posted a few months ago... I think it was an earlier live show and it was amazing. It was taken down and I really miss it. If anyone knows the one I a referring to and can point me to where I can find it I would really appreciate it! The end was very powerful! Thanks for the post!
Peace
i have a feeling Phil is not a human, he is a robot created by Banana Co. to play on Radiohead
