Absolutely love 2018 chrome, but man the price is out of control. Not a great outcome for almost a $2k box. I pulled the Ohtani green refractor auto from a blaster, which I paid $220 for at the time. Did not feel great spending that much on a blaster but man was it the pull of a lifetime. Won’t ever beat it.
Exactly at $2k a box the odds of you getting your money back is insanely low. You'd have to hit a big name in a rare parallel and spend more money sending it off to psa.

They shut down for 3 months due to covid (with pay). He hasnt collected a card in 20 years. His boredom and gov't funding about ruined his marriage for him buying singles off Ebay. He tried to resell them recently and recouped about 20% of what he spent lol

I get sick to my stomach these days thinking about how I should have kept them sealed. And I sold all my Trout base for 10 each, as they were selling for 15 st the time on ebay. I had been 30 and 40, with one refractor I sold for 25. It hurts man. It really haunts me in this economy.

2018 chrome is notorious for surface scratches, looks like that holds true in this video looking at some of those cards. I'm wondering what happened during manufacturing that scratched up so many cards.... that's pretty annoying
No matter how someone justifies paying 8,000$ for a box of cards with incredibly small odds of getting a major hit, it's a total ripoff. The only person not getting ripped is the ONE person that is lucky enough to get that hit and that's even questionable because card values fluctuate. At least you can get a lotto ticket for just a few bucks

If you have the patience, and can resist the incredible urge to try and pull some Shohei RCs, keeping and reselling sealed wax a few years down the road seems like a more 'reliable' way to turn profit off your card investments. You avoid the gambling/lotto ticket aspect of it, although there will always be a few cases that outperform the cost of the product, but the vast majority are money losers after they've been opened. Plus you don't have to play the grading game to get better returns. How much was that box in 2018, $250-300ish? And now, 4years later it's going for 4.5-5x cost? That's pretty huge.
At the end of the Video you call this box "UPDATE". was that a boo boo? after checking the first part of the video, the box wasn't labeled as "update", please advise. thank you for all you do for the Hobby.
The entire card market is dropping right now. Doesn’t have anything to do with Trout’s slump. Even PSA 10’s of other iconic cards like 89’ Upper Deck Griffey Jr. and the Fleer Michael Jordan rookie are down in price right now.

Once again diminishing the MVP giving it to players that are on losing teams. Bryce Harper and Shoehei Ohtani last year. I got MVP trophies but no playoff appearances.

Brought a Ohtani psa10 prism for $26. Back in early 2019. I say it was a good call. I love the look of that year.

The funny thing is doing the math you essentially pay $166 per pack, so you should be guaranteed a Shohei PSA10 per pack. Silly
