      They made so many of these quarters that 9 out of 10 local coin shops don't even mess with them and give them away as regular change return unlesd their ms66 and higher or a error coin. And then their still a hard coin to sell for anything.

      Zane Fisher the United States never made any quarters in 1975 because they spent two years making the bicentennial quarters..1.6 Billion Bicentennial quarters in Philadelphia and the Denver Mint and they made 5 million at the San Francisco mint..With the "S" on it they are 40% Silver.. I never saw a 1975 quarter but good luck with that..👍

    Would a possible cud on the date not as drastic as you had shown , DD on the obverse and reverse with a torch error be something to have it looked at? Is there an online group I can post my quarter to figure out what's going on I feel like something was minted with it as it looks like there is a lot of something minted on the coin.

    My late father was a coin collector when he passed away no one was really interested in collecting coins and continuing his collection there was six of us kids me being the only girl both my parents were in the army therefore I have some quite interesting foreign coins as well however pennies and nickels were my dad's favorite I can remember as a little girl holding my dad's hand walking through parking lots and if he seen a penny he would pick it up no matter if it was heads-up or heads down he said it didn't matter that's just the old superstitions saying if you see a penny you pick it up it's always going to bring you good luck so to this day at 55 I pick every coin I see on the ground up I have several at least 40/50 wheat pennies lots of wartime nickels I just recently started collecting the bicentennial quarter and believe it or not I've gotten three of them in the last week I've gotten pretty good at looking at the coins with a scope or magnifying glass I know that I have quite a few different coins that are worth money I enjoy doing it it helps pass time and I always feel close to my dad when I'm messing with the coins I figured I'll leave it to my grandchildren and hopefully one of them will carry the coin collecting on for the next generation you never know when you may get lucky and find the million-dollar coin I'm so addicted to it now that I look at every coin I have before I spend it I recently found a 1942 Barber dime and a friend of mine brought me one a couple of days after the one I found......

      Some coin collectors may want to pay more than others, the longer you hold on to them the more you might get for them. Or, pass them down to another family member, who may become interested in coin collecting.

    • @darthsilversith667
      @darthsilversith667 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I doubt that they’re all.. if any of them.. the actual DDO. Double dies from this era (1965-1971) are incredibly hard to find. I’ve been doing 4-6 boxes of quarters a week for months, going on a year and I have never found 1.. let alone 7. This DDO that you’re saying sold for $47,000.. was probably the “top pop” of its variety. That means it’s the highest graded 1965 DDO and that’s the only reason it sold for that much. NOW.. I find a handful of quarters from this era from every box that have pretty cool machine doubling or die deterioration doubling but they aren’t the true double die. Also, out of all of these quarters that I have hunted.. I have only found a small handful of regular quarters from the era in question that are still good AU’s.. let alone still MS. I know many others that hunt quarters like me and I only know of 1 person that’s found a real double die from this era.. let alone 7. Sorry for the novel but I really had to inject some context to be able to explain how unlikely it is that you have 7 1965 DDO’s. It’s unlikely you even have 1. Sorry.. but I would be willing to bet they’re all machine doubling or die deterioration doubling.

    These coins you will not find in circulation, the ones you will find are going to be run of the mill beat-up coins. I have 3 rolls of some the best struck coins, 2 Ds, and 1 P I picked up in summer of 1975, original release 07 07 75.

      Quarter* and it’s most likely just toning or environmental damage. Meaning it wasn’t stored right, was handled a lot or it sat in a dirty cup holder for awhile.

    Don't get me wrong, but I do believe that double denomination errors are intentionally made by somebody inside the mint.
