In my opinion the beginning was necessary, I don't believe it was showing off, for it did not take away from the beauty of the overall piece, rather added some. I do believe if it were to have continued much further it would have had a negative effect, but he stopped at the perfect time. Pure genius!
Hello Tal, When I saw this I felt extremely jealous and inadequate because for 10 years I, and alot of others used to agree that I had the absolute BEST arrangement of Bohemian Rhapsody but yours has effectively TOPPLED mine. You are really good at combining the technical aspects of Liszt, Chopin and creating a version that is really YOUR OWN. I love your interpretation of the 2nd last coda chord progressions. Kudos! You motivate me to improve my own version even more :P

This was absolutely amazing. Pure magic. You took the song to a level I bet Mr. Mercury himself could not have ever dreamed was possible. What made it so great for me were the moments when you took the song to the very simple style, exactly like the original. Those parts need to be simple, and you kept them that way. This shows your utmost respect to the work. You have a keen feeling of where the emotion of the song lies, and you did not touch those parts. And that is what made all of the rest so impressive and beautiful. Great style, great adaptation, and great respect for one of the greatest songs ever written. Thank you...

Had he transcribed a 'classical' piece like this many youtubists would be condemning him for doing something that the composer wasn't thinking of. Fortunately we are spared such ignorant nonsense on this page, and we can enjoy the combined genius of the composer and transcriber in peace. He's not proposing to replace the original, but he certainly added some beautiful nuances that are worth hearing.
