In Russia and many slavic countries people claps in 1-st strong stressed beat. This is very annoying. In other world people claps in unstressed weak beats.
Let me explain something about the clapping. Waldemar Malicki, that is the pianist, tours with "Philharmonic of wit." They are all classically trained musicians who probably spend majority of their time making very serious music, but touring as "Philharmonic of wit" they make musical comedy, they are very cabaretish. These are concerts for laymen, people who do not go there to appreciate classical music, but just to listen to something classical-like/pop-like and have fun. They are often encouraged to clap or shout something to the rhythm, hence clapping. At the end of this video the conductor himself faces the crowd and "conducts" them to clap. By the way, Karajan did the same with Radetzki March, and people were clapping. Karajan was a very serious man who played at very serious places and had very serious audiences.
Guys you don't get the idea of this concert :d Malicki is the pianist in "Filharmonia dowcipu" group. It means "The Philharmonic of joke" :d He's a great comedian, and he likes when people have fun, even when he's playing :d Tickets aren't expensive so many people come to have some fun, and in my opinion it's great idea to combine classical music, and great sense of humor :d Don't be so wooden :D And Inb4 sorry for my english xD
A lot of people fail to realize that 'classical' music was the popular music of its day. Treating it like a museum piece that must always be fawned over in rapturous silence is much more annoying than the clapping.
