- My favourite song - and my favourite version of it - the stadium or Live Aid version of Bohemian Rhapsody. Sometimes known as "Mama" instead of Bohemian Rhapsody. I always wonder why it's hard to find live versions of the full Bohemian Rhapsody - did Queen ever play the full version with the first verse?
Of course the one at Live Aid is the most well known one and it is immediately recognisable especially with the cross hands. I like the part where Freddie plays and tests the piano before he starts too.
Listen to the two girls sing 1:30 when they come down the escalator and then notice it was me playing. They have such a nice harmony too! Would have been awesome if they stayed to sing! Also, the lady in the green jacket is mouthing parts and others too!

I think they always skipped the first verse when live because its a bit slow, where they start leaves a nice entry point still and the song is already really long

I remember watching Queen at the Live Aid Concert on TV. 25 minutes of musical history.
This song when played there absolutely set the music world on fire. It was Queen's coming of age as a "stage band".
It made the rest of the music world go "Oh my god, what just happened". It changed stage performing forever.
Freddie showed the world how to perform to a crowd. He had millions of people in the palm of his hand that day.
This young man is on a true path to greatness. He needs a wonderful modern concert grand piano!!!!

Beautifully done by the boy. What’s missing here is the voice of Freddie, the guitar of a Brian, the bass of John and the drum of Roger. And of course a few cups of beer and Pepsi on the piano. That would have been perfect.

This is one of Queen's songs with a classical form with movements (though quite short ones), changes in mood and tempo. I love hearing it played by you on a grand. And so much larger audience with more response from them, whether by singing along or by applause. Another good arrangement and performance!

Some people don’t understand that you are interpreting music that was written to be sung by voice , with all the imperfections of the human instrument, and to try to recreate that emotion with an instrument is a gift not given to every pianist! Thank you. I think that some people don't understand that maybe? This is my arrangement of what I feel and hear when I listen to the song. When someone like Freddie sings, it's not a perfect note but what he wants it to sound. Getting a piano or any instrument to sound like a voice is not easy because you have to get so many notes to sound like a voice. It is fun though! And I like the way you describe it. The imperfections. I play John Legend All of Me and he has a line "all your perfect imperfections" and that is exactly it!

Hey cole, the reason why Queen never performed the full version of the song (the first verse and the operatic session) is because it was impossible to perform multiple voice tracks at once live, that's why they used a pre-recorded track (the studio session) for the operatic session. Btw, love you piano covers, keep up the good work!
