    Man.
    Thanks for doing more Meshuggah.
    I swear, "Meshuggah reaction" is by far my most searched term. 😂
    I'd love to suggest "I".

      Certainly! Glad you enjoyed it! I will add that to my list, as I'm almost caught up with Meshuggah songs, so I am in need of new suggestions. Thanks for watching!

    What you’re hearing is just them galloping a half step down (sometimes a full step). No bending.

    • @BleedingEdgeProg
      @BleedingEdgeProg  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I will be Googling this technique! Thanks for clarifying, though. I am definitely getting an education on technique with Meshuggah!

    Politely suggesting transfixion. Concatenation, the mouth licking what youve bled or elastic would all be neat to see too.

    In this track you are hearing half step intervals. Totally like a downshift haha it fits the name of the song, very dissonant. But they are also known for their interesting use of bending notes.

      Ah! Good to have a name to what I was hearing! Thanks for that! I have always been very interested in musical techniques, especially guitar, so I try to learn even though I doubt I'll ever get around to playing. Thanks for watching!

      I appreciate the kind word! Thank you! Well, I could, though I am already rather familiar with them. Granted, I don't know all of their stuff. I could add them to me list of requests if you have a request you want to toss my way. I'm less familiar with their older stuff.

    If you want more variation in one of their tracks you could try “I”, but that’s a whole other animal.
    -Bending is something they definitely do.

    Not at all offended :) Thordendal has basically two solo modes: The Alan Holdsworth melodic style (like in Dancers to a discordant system) and this sort of broken ringtone style.
    Mårten Hagström solo's tend to vary a little more. The one on Straws Pulled at Random was his.
    That this song was easier to digest might also because after 5 songs you may be getting a little more used to Meshuggah. First few times it can be quite a brutal onslaught. A wall of sound coming at you. (I know it was for me) After a while you get used to their MO and start to hear the nuances and details and start to appreciate it more. I don't know if you have revisited the songs you did before but I bet they become more interesting on a second or third hearing. :)

      @BleedingEdgeProg  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      LOL! "broken ringtone style!" Well, I prefer the Holdworth version, myself, but both are impressive for different reasons.
      You may be right. Perhaps I'm finally starting to "get it." I need to revisit those other songs at some point, but lack of sufficient time always seems to be a factor. I'm bouncing around so much these days!

      Well, I think someone else already had dibs on "Old Prog Head", so in keeping with the apparent reaction videos culture, I came up with this very unimaginative appellation to describe myself. We got "old composer", "vocal coach", "hip hop fan", "classical composer" all out there doing their things, and this was the best I could come up with.
