The difference here is that Murtasim always pushes away Haya and doesn't encourage her, whereas Meerab willingly goes with Rohail and discusses with him and quietly listens to him.

Haya actually forces herself on murtasim and miss meerub voluntarily goes to meet ruhail who forcibly took her to his flat and openly and loudly confessed his feelings and asked her to leave Murtasim. She even disclosed to him about the contract. And please meerub fans tell me did she even once shout at rohail the way Murtasim always insulted and shouted at haya. Meerub didn’t even chide him the day he forcibly took her to flat… and consent wale log please tell me who on earth keeps such a contract at the time of marriage. She shouldn’t have married him in the first place. Apparently she married him coz she had become orphan and had nowhere to go, implies she used him, so did he… fair n square.

This was the answer he gave meerab..haya planned it, murtasim didn't know it..ok fine, rohail planned it, meerab didn't know...u said meerab willingly go to rohail.. why did murtasim go with Haya to village when he clearly knows haya loved him madly? Here, meerab is question , why murtasim is not questioned? If haya planned it, n murtasim is not at fault, meerab is also not at fault because rohail planned it... Murtasim told meerab to jump of the building to proved loyalty, has murtasim ever asked to proved when meerab caught them in village?
Tere Bin is synonym of Toxicity. There are 1000 wrong things about this drama (and with all involved, writer, production, director... and even actors for choosing this script): father getting rid of baby daughter because she "killed" her mother during labor, forced marriage, slap 1, slap 2, slap 3..., girl inviting a stranger in her bedroom for 8 months!!!, girl running away with stranger to get married, wife slapping and spitting on husband's face and marital rape... uff. Tere Bin is synonym of Toxicity with capital "T".

Tere bin shows all women characters as dumb and characterless, a daughter scheming elopement from her home, a wife leading on her husband and another man, both of whom are madly in love with her, and the same wife constantly gaslighting her husband and all family members, projecting her mistakes on others and emotionally manipulating her husband to compromise his own moral values to please her; and it shows a crazy female cousin stalking her male cousin at the expense of her own self-esteem and all moral/cultural/social norms! The writer isn’t a feminist, the writer is extremely conflicted and has confused all of us as well. The characters don’t make sense, they have no arcs, they oscillate between right and wrong all the time, they aren’t gray, they are cray cray!!!

Thank you Amma. If Marital Rape has happened in Tere Bin, then that is it for us. Nothing can redeem Murtasim. His action is wrong. Period. But thank you for mentioning Meerab's actions. Her slapping and spitting on Murtasim were equally triggering. Again, not justifying Murtasim's action afterwards, but both of these actions i.e. Meerab's slapping and spitting on Murtasim; and what he did afterwards are independent actions. Both on equally wrong footing. Meerab's spitting was equally triggering to me as a women, that I am not feeling any sympathies for her, and that's how fucked up Tere Bin, this spitting scene and the eventual alleged Mairtal Rape is. Meerab's actions were extremely disturbing. We condemn Marital Rape, sexual assault, and all forms of violence and abuse on women. But Meerab as a character has ripped us of our sympathies for her. We want Meerab to be equally held accountable. The whole spitting scene was so triggering that I am still in shock and the trauma, the belitteling and degradation.

Exactly! They show Meerab as an educated girl from the city and they made her character an ill-mannered, obnoxious bitch -completely opposite of an educated person. It only furthers the agenda in Pakistan to not ‘educate your daughters’ and if you do, they will turn into disrespectful and obnoxious girls like Meerab. I didn’t like it from the start.

Recently someone on twitter claimed that they talked to the screenwriter of TB and shared the screenshots of their chat. That person clearly said that beta, its a drama and don't forget they are husband and wife and it's not a rape. Were we giving fame to such mindsets? I am horrified how these ppl with twisted mentalities are writing and producing stories for the masses. Shame on writer, director, actors and everyone else who had say to change this scene but couldn't.

The fans of tere bin were shocked and disappointed after seeing the traumatising promo, and the damage was done. Even if murtasim doesn't force himself on her, it was horrendous to use this as a cliffhanger and leave the audience in a shocked and triggered state.
I myself am a victim of it. My anxiety has been extremely triggered since Thursday. I pray he doesn't do otherwise I won't be able to trust men ever. I hope if they had put they can edit, cut or do whatever but I hope they remove that. I will forgive everything but showing this.

I Absolutely loved amma's comment on meerub's character and I completely agree with her. Meerub is one of the worst FL ever, it was only because of our love for yumna that we were watching it and tolerating her foolishness. And the writer seems to be believing that it's her writing...No it was because of wahaj and yumna that people started watching TB, and loved their chemistry...there was nothing new in the script, but yes I would give her the credit that she gave us some of the most romantic moments which we had never seen before but the direction and performances and yumhaj's chemistry made it what it's today. But now even they can't save this drama, people are really furious and rightly so. We cannot adore the murtasim and meerub the way we used to do. I never liked meerub's actions but murtasim became one if the best ML characters BUT she snatched it in just a minute.

First time checking out your review and I love Amma. All her points are valid and I could relate with her frustration with Meerab and the writer. I always thought that Meerab is an extremely flawed and imperfect female character and because it's not something that is common it was difficult for people but there should be some character progress but unfortunately it's not happened till now. I thought after supporting Maryam in eloping and finding out that it was wrong of her, Meerab might have grown an spine to accept her mistakes but no again a wasted opportunity. And this time it got even more ugly with the slap and spitting.
