Dear Momin, Amma is right about the cell phone price. 50,000 is quite a lot for a cell phone, me and my wife have bought maximum 25-30000 phones, and they cover almost all our requirements. Buying a 50,000 phone especially when you have to borrow money from someone is utterly nonsensical.

58:00 Faraad: #Amma these kinds of betrayals happen with some variations. I have seen a lot around myself. Here are some examples that are based on actual incidents around me.
1) People lie about their wealth, even show someone else shops, houses etc to lure a girl's family. It mostly occurs when the boy's family is from another city.
2) Right after marriage, a girl is told to submit all her gold (mostly that is from her parents) to her mother-in-law, I was asked to do the same that it is most safe in my ex-husband's mother's cupboard including that my parents gave me. My neighbour aunty gave so much gold to her daughter in-law just to show off and now her only concern is to take it back. One of my friends is asked to give all her gold because her inlaws had to buy some shops. Plus, during my wedding ceremonies, my in-laws(ex) the rituals where they had to pay money, they said oh we forgot, oh this ritual is not in our family, while they did best to squeeze money from us.
3) If she earns, within a few days, she is asked to give her bank account/Atm cards to her husband and in some cases to give total hold to her inlaws (a divorce happened recently because a girl refused to do it). There is so much dowry that a girl brings and the so-called gifts from men's family, it still does not belong to the girl, especially the gold.
4) Amma, We take education from universities and think this world has changed like us, but there is so much evil in our society that you cannot imagine. May Allah save everyone from these kinds of inlaws and sadly if I look around me, 99 per cent inlaws focus is just to squeeze girl and her parents for money and treat her like a maid. This is so sad and there is left no will to marry, but sadly a woman without a husband is also cursed, even if she is divorced for the first time, she has to marry again. You are saying arranged marriage is good, but its all depends on people, in our society most marriages are arranged and still inlaws treat her like trash. There is a horrifying face of society and too much to say but nothing can be changed.

Momin ama means that in Dobara, Mahir's dialogues were very regressive and ageist. we should move forward not backwards. It took us so long to come to this era where ppl are woke. And such nonsense is not taken as if it is ok. Such insensitive handling of such a sensitive topic is the worst way to go about it.
